      Because Tony Blair did not have to join America in their fight in Iraq. The united states felt that they were already at war due to 9/11. Tony Blair wanted to involve himself and his country in to a war which had nothing do with him. Which costs the lives of our British troops which then created terrorist attacks in our UK home land.

    • @Tommy2shoe811
      @Tommy2shoe811 5 лет назад

      Court Reporter the intelligence forces are the main reason the whole thing went bad. Both country’s intelligence agencies were at fault for most of the errors that Bush and Blair are now roasted for and I can almost guarantee they both blame the whole screw up on them. Also another thing that’s almost never mentioned is the fact the whole Iraq war had been brewing long before 9/11 (even before 98 when he kicked out the UN overseers) and the Afghanistan war. The decision was made easier by 9/11 and the new terrorist threat bc Saddam was a psychopath and hated both the US & UK and was very likely to give/sell WMDs to those terrorists to get revenge for Desert Storm and all the interference and sanctions we gave him.
      The one gripe the UK citizens do have that I agree with is how under equipped the UK forces were and how it made their life much more difficult than it needed to be over there. They had nowhere near the resources the US forces had even down to the kit they wore I was shocked at how much more we had than them. There were even countries that had a fraction of their number that were better equipped (Danes come to mind). Now that I agree is completely inexcusable.

      I honestly don't think that is what he has suggested as such; rather, he has always said that the intelligence reports he received at the time led him to believe there was at least a very good chance that Saddam posed an existential threat to the UK, due to his apparent weapons capabilities and links with Al Qaida (both of which we now know to have been exaggerated or non-existent) and that to have not responded to this perceived threat would have been a dereliction of duty. One may argue about the manner of the response, but that has always been my understanding of his defence.

    The most arrogant and dishonest politician Britain has ever had to suffer. I cannot grasp how is still walking free, or why he is not far too embarrassed to appear in public. I conclude he is not right in the head. It is unsurprising that he's next in line for leading the WEF. He has all the right qualifications.

    hopefully on the point of him saying live he takes full responsibility the Hague will have him arrested and tried with open admission for knowingly or not commiting war crimes along with George W Bush Jr.
    R.I.P each soul that departed prior, during and since the war as this man's behaviour clearly influenced that hornets nest ling before officially gaining power.

    I am an American who was against the war in Iraq (I remembered all too well the casualties of the Viet Nam war), and I remember so clearly being shocked when it was announced that the UK would back the US. That is the point when my opinion of Blair changed. And I do remember thinking that maybe things would have been different if Blair's decision had been different. But who knows. The movie "W," if true, showed us that Cheney wanted the oil first and foremost, and Condoleezza Rice never had an independent thought of her own.

      Always oil. Sounds logical but it isn’t. Iraq produces 3% of global supply. The US consumed 20%. People wake up.

      It’s nothing to do with oil. Just looking at oil production numbers reveal that Iraq produces 3% of global production. Let’s look at facts. What would my people eat if the oil taken way? Live under sadam in Iraq before grandstanding

    Tony Blair's denial of lying to the House of Commons regarding the Iraq invasion is itself a falsehood. Throughout his addresses to Parliament, Blair consistently presented information and details with a feigned certainty, lending an illusion of truth where none existed. His words were meticulously crafted to sway support, yet concealed the ambiguity inherent in his claims. His admission of "critical mission errors" is carefully couched in collective terms, deflecting personal accountability for decisions that led to disastrous outcomes. The press conference he convened serves as a calculated ploy, a preemptive strike against the Chilcot report, aimed at diluting its findings and preempting potential legal repercussions for war crimes and deception to the House of Commons. Moreover, when answering the journalist's question: "look me in the eyes...", in Blair's response he markedly increased his blink rate 16 times more than the previous 5 minutes, a subconscious acknowledgement of falsehood, rendering his denial self evident, he knew what he was doing period.
