- Two important early diesel railway locomotives are restored and moved to the Irish Railway Collection at the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum. See the Sulzer loco being moved by road transporter in the dead of night from Dublin to Whitehead Along with the Hunslet loco Falcon, they are prepared to travel to Cultra by rail.
Excellent film, really good to see how this all happened. Congratulations to all involved in this operation. Anyone who has yet to visit the Railway Gallery at Cultra really needs to get down there ASAP!
Rev W Awdry couldn't have told this story better!
Excellent. Visited Cultra a few yrs ago from London (my sis lives nearby in Holywood). Nice to see one of the 3 old Hunslets in situ. I well remember their introduction on the NIR Enterprise in 1970. I was a student working in Butlins, Mosney. And sometimes the Enterprise would stop there..
Falcon looks like a Class 52 Western that shrunk in the wash
Sus
I am pleased to see two classic trains preserved undercover :). I shall be going to visit this museum to get some photos of the trains in person.
The transport museum is a class act. Not to be missed. Excellent value.
What a lovely video. It's great to see that these two diesels have found a permanent home at last. I remember seeing B113 looking very sorry for itself in Inchicore 20 years ago. Well done to all concerned.
Lovely video great to see this lovely locos in preservation
Excellent bit of video guys. Thanks.
Some excellent footage of 162 shunting, b113 and of inchicore.
Wonderful piece of video. Thanks for posting
Great video, and yes I have always wondered, I agree with Jonathan kinh
Great clip, thanks for uploading. I must say I was surprised at the use of two big 071s in taking the locos, thought it was a bit excessive?
I ♥️ falcon
What loco are they in at 1:20?
