@@joshuamartinstudios I just see a lot of people talk about the color science, usability, file writing system. Mostly people coming from a mirrorless camera, and they just get picky and say they'd rather shoot on mirrorless cameras.
Hey Josh, great stuff. I'm going to make a purchase of the Z cam and all the gadgets. I want to downsize, I love my SONY F35 with an Odyssey 7Q+ But it's too much I have been behind a camera for 50 years, started in 16mm then went to 35mm and finally to digital in 2010. We do docs and features. Thank you brother, keep shooting!
Cool. But, what about timecode? ZCam themselves point us to an adapter which has DB9 connector, yet the F6 has only the 2x 4-pin Lemos which are not TC connectors. Very frustrating. Do you have any ideas?
Question about Wooden camera zip focus! Is the direction of focus reversible - ie.e for a canon lens - on this Wooden Camera Zip Focus? When you throw focus away from you, rotating that wheel away from you (forward), it actually pulls your focus towards you?
Ok the BTS photos by your wife of you posing behing your S6 are just too funny 😂Been waiting for this video and hoping for some F6 content soon too! That top down too, oh yeah! Nailed it Joshua!
Hi, I got z Cam E2 F6 from auction and hopefully I'll get it next week, I also have xH2s probably I'm going to sell one of them so which one do you think I should keep?
Great review Josh,, I think you're spot about the compactness of the cam but as you indicated the size leaves a ton of room for customization. Your setup is very close to what I'm planning for my E2S6 as well. Brotha, keep it up!
Building it heavy can also improve shoulder movement, I’ve been thinking on bigger rigs lately, “do what works for you” is honestly the best way to justify it.
Hi Joshua..Good stuff. Have the spacers held up? I am looking through Amazon and saw either Nylon, Brass or Resin. I am concerned about sustaining the weight of a v-mount battery on either resin or Nylon so wondering how strong are they actually. The Brass feels safer but the gold colour is throwing me off 😜. Keep up the good work.
Dude! I appreciate you! Question for you though: Can you send link for monitor mount that you used? I’m building my rig (thanks to you), and didn’t know which one to get 🙏🏿
Did ZCam ever issue a fix for the whole "lose footage if the camera runs out of power or shuts off" problem? I'm aware of the file split settings, but it's certainly not ideal from a workflow and file management perspective.
I believe so - once the battery is near completed a warning sign appears saying you need to change the battery. And it won't let you record until you do. As for the file spliting, it's still a things. I've used it a few times. Not so terrible. But normally I'm filming for under an hour depending on the project. Are you interested in a z cam?
@@joshuamartinstudios yeah! I love the box form factor, and looking to upgrade to S35. Plus, a few extra stops of DR would be lovely, coming from the P4K!
Hey man I just started back up and looking to become a good DP wanted to know if its better to take a course to learn how to present and create content scripts I suck at it
Did you test how much latency the sdi converter adds? p.s. nice setup, before watching your video i thought that the sdi converter plugs into the np-f section and hdmi too, but it turns out you actually have to put a cable to HDMI IN which is kinda disturbing
How mcuh would something like this cost i recently inherited this camera & have no clue of what im doing but would like something to shoot yourube vids
Yes, the z cam has more to offer...better battery (np-f) more codecs and resolution, interchangeable mounts (🔥). Really great image quality (but that also depends on how you use light) Ease of use is determined by the user I believe. Gear takes time to learn and master.
@@joshuamartinstudios I wish black Magic would come out with a cube form factor instead of the dlsr body form factor. Cube bodies just easier to build out a rig on and balance on steadicams/gimbals when weight is all centered, I'ma take a look at the z-cam a little closer now, thanks for the quick response
The small menu screen on top of the camera, can that be used as a monitor in a worse case scenario situation like if my field monitor's HDMI port were to be damaged during a shoot?
Probably one of the cleanest camera rigs I've ever seen on RUclips.
🙏🏽🙇🏽♂️
100%
I ordered a E2-S6 on Ebay. To my surprise, the guy sent me an E2-F6
Orale!!!
Awesome rig! I'm looking forward to your Teradek Bolt 4K LT video!
Love this! A lot of people hate on Zcam, but they’re killer for the price!
Thanks! Who hating on z cam?

Great Review ! Keep your work up Joshua ! Really appreciate being credited in your review 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Of course Simon! this was a great idea!
THAT IS THE COOLEST THING EVER!!! There are so many parts to a rig!!! I'm so excited to jump into the world of cinematography!!! Awesome vid Joshua! 😁

DEFINITELY loving up to your reputation with this rig bro. SO clean!

DM me if you have any questions!
Just ordered a 6 pack of Sprigs, thanks for the tip!
Thanks for watching Tyler!

Clean build man!!🎥🎥🎥🖤🖤🖤
Such a clean build man. Love it. I'm hoping the Indie 7 comes into stock soon.
yeah man! I didn't realize it was still on pre-order. I'll be making a review - it'll drop next week.
Had been waiting for this video!
I have too haha what are your thoughts?
beautiful setup as always, great content. this gave me some ideas on how to go about rigging out my camera.
Thanks for watching bro!
Love the custom
Paint job! Makes everything look so much cleaner 🤙🏼

Is the direction of focus reversible - ie.e for a canon lens - on this Wooden Camera Zip Focus?
When you throw focus away from you, rotating that wheel away from you (forward), it actually pulls your focus towards you?

haha that tends to happen
Great video. Love the rig ❤️
What baseplate is that? Love your videos dude
It's from 8sinn
You had me weak with the "pause" Lml Dope video!!! Showing love from NYC

You think that iPad mini wit Z-cam app may fully replace monitor for indoor shooting?
I think it's possible. I'm getting one so I'll certainly test it out
great video, I appreciate the thoroughness. cheers
More Zcam 🙌🏾🙌🏾
More to come!
Cool rig! How is the latency with the sdi module on the z cam? The hdmi out on the camera has a slight delay, is it the same with the sdi module?
the trick is to turn off all of the in camera assist tools. That way the delay is shorten. I will talk about this in the smallhd indie 7 review
It's a mini Arri Alexa Mini. But seriously, that's a really nice build. And the cable management? I find that to be quite genius. Really dope!
Thanks bro!!

Thanks! I haven't really paid much attention to Sirui. The anamorphic lenses are ok. The character is subtle compared to my SLR magic 1.33s

Yes!
Zback is sick. We need a Bmpcc4kback
true haha
