Saw him at the Belly Up last night in Solana Beach. (8/12/15) The show I saw last night was awesome. So glad I went. He played like he was 49 not 79 years old. Long live Buddy Guy
Thanks for posting. IMO Buddy was at his best here. I saw him numerous times in this era, with Killer and the boys, and he burned the place down every time. This opening number is so strong, great stuff.
Was there ever a greater blues showman in history than Buddy Guy? Movie stars don't even have the charisma that Buddy just oozes effortlessly. Absolutely electrifying performer and player. He left absolutely nothing within himself. He poured it out in every performance. What a legend.
Man this concert is a keeper, i hope i get to meet buddy in this life :) . this was a great touring band he had. He always has the fire, that spark and groove and one of my major influences in the blues amounce others. this vid is definitely goin in my favorites of inspirational performances.
You can see why he...Otis Rush...Magic Sam...Luther Allison...amongst many godfathers of the blues were admired by the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughn...Jimmie Vaughn....and mr Clapton......My oh my !
wooohow, this man has a soul for blues guitar. NUT BUT the voice makes a difference. see... buddy guy is a NATURAL born singer. power in that voice, ohhBut i firmly believe, that no guitarist plays 6string like Jimi Hendrix. out of this planet,, that is jimi. And ofcourse Buddy is a - SOULMOIVER. bUDDY gUY
Sometime after Buddy died they will invent one amp that will be called Elipsis, because no one will have the time or patience to listen, let alone emulate those stark organic breaks. No one! But it is so beautiful that the world will preserve it in machine yet Buddy's name will be gone.
Greg Rzab, he's a kid here, but from playing with this legendary blues axeman, Greg would tour later with Black Crowes on their Page & Crowes live stint. Great bass beast all the way.
I believe that is Ray "killer" Allison. Unbelievable!! Saw this line up dozens of times early 90s. Never a better band. Ray later fronted his own band on guitar and vocals. Still great. But passed awhile back. Thankfully we have these videos!!

One of my all time favorite vibes from HIM❤ ✨️ 🔥
Buddy Guy, is my favorite blues singer and player ! he is the greatest, I love his personality !
I saw him at the Ventura theater and SB Bowl during this time. Just one of the highlights of my life.
Scott Holt his guitar player solos and shows he has learned from the BEST.
These shows with this band were the best. He just tore these clubs up. Shortly after, they did that big band thing, and it went downhill fast.
Scott Holt was on fire, as always!
I saw and meet buddy about 20 years ago. amazing gig. will never forget it. great showman great band great guy!!! thanks for posting
