Very nice educating video. For most of us here in the states that were too young to know our history of Lao, we really appreciation you ( Nigel) for uploading this video and sharing it with us.

Thank you for creating these videos Nigel. It's great to be taken around all these fantastic buildings with your knowledge. I really hope some of the buildings will stay in the future.

Thanks for your visit and great comment, Sam! Looking back at this video, again, I see so many changes in the past 6 or seven years... huge shopping complexes, vast hotels and commercial buildings. I have also seen the creation of a park facing the Mekong River, improvements and restoration of several old colonial buildings and the neglect of others..... I was on the Patuxai (Victory Monument) yesterday and sadly it is in a bad state of repair.....

Since my first visit to Loas nearly eighteen months ago, numerous visits and now living here on a sort of semi- permanent basis, I have come to love Laos, Vientiane, her people and her great river..... I have also posted 16 movies to RUclips as well as the one you have watched.....!! Best wishes. Nigel
