seeing the prices for that "mexican" food, makes me think , that I could make a killing opening an authentic mexican restaurant in S. Korea
Well you probably can. But it seems a bit pricy, probably because its hard to get Mexican ingredients for cheap in south Korea.
When I went to S. Korea, I only found one fusion mix Mexican place. It was a fusion of Korean and Mexican food like Burritos and Taco but with some Korean ingredients. But it was the most authentic Taco shop I found.

Edit: but there definitely is a market for it tho. Authentic foods like Mexican and Malay (especially Halal foods) are rare, and costs more than usual.

I love your video. I wish I could travel to Korea in the future. I'm learning Korean and is so easy compare to Japanese and Mandarin. I speak Spanish as a first language, and I found the sound of vowels in Korean are the same as in my language. I loved you shirt too. Greetings from Canada.

If panda Express here had good mapo tofu and eggplant tofu, I would go all the time. I don't know why the American outlets of the same restaurants and stores are nowhere near as good.
The food looks so clean and delish, really shows how Korea values quality and presentation 💜

Panda knows how to do real chinese food they just can't due to their consumer base wanting american style chinese food. They do try it state side every once in awhile though. They had one dish called firecracker chicken which had a fermented soy bean sauce that was really nice.
Dude, I miss firecracker chicken so much. I loved that fermented flavor.
Who would have thought that Americans would want American-style food?
@@PretentiousCat So I went by Panda today and I saw firecracker chicken. They changed the recipe and took out the fermented bean sauce. So sad and disappointing.

When your benching by yourself just don't run the clamps at the end of the weights. That way worse come to worse you can slide the weights off of one side of the bar by tilting it.

Ifc! I used to work at the IFC and often had Panda
during my busy day! As the Finance Regulator is located in Yeoyido, so lots of financial service providers are located in the area. You should try "Jinju Jib" at the Yeoyido Baek Haw Jeom (B1) near the Yeoyido station where is famous of its cold soy soup noodle (Kong Guksoo). It is no.1 in Korea. Super super popular.

Yeah a smith machine bar is only like 20-25 lbs but his bench is still very strong for his bodyweight.
Asian food is mostly very well balanced with the proteins and fats and carbs and veggie and working out especially lifting weights is super good for you... Both are great for mental health also... Mikey is looking great..

When that honey butter chip came out for the first time, it suddenly became so popular that there was not enough supplies so I went around looking for it, but I can see a lot these days.

There was a food craze going with those potato chips in S. Korea a while back when they first came out. Saw a story online where people were not happy because they were always sold out...and the pprice was astronomically inflated online for them if you wanted to buy and then have shipped(which is expensive too.) There were really popular because they are soooo good.
Kinda think you would have liked the mapo tofu I made today at home. Pretty awesome if I do say so myself, but the fam agreed. Using the right sauces & ingredients for some favorite Chinese dishes has been one of my best achievements of 2020. Surviving is basically the other. You have definitely helped in both regards Mikey!

Mapo tofu is quite popular in Korea. I remember most "Chinese" food places that sell Jjajangmeon will do a decent Mapo Tofu as well.
I am totally shocked by the tofu! Why does the US suck so much when it comes to fast food?
America really needs to step it up!
the egg plant tofu super common in the panda express locations in so cal - im assuming its might be because the corporate hq for panda is in so cal, so the quality is higher

Every single American fast food chain is way better in other countries especially in Asia. I just don't understand.
Most US fast food chains use cost lowering methods that do affect the way it tastes. For example, Panda's sweet and sour is pretty much vinegar and sugar. Their orange chicken is very similar with orange zest and peppers thrown in to give it that distinct taste. Burger places like McDonalds tend to blend leaner meats into fattier meats to keep the cost down without affecting the texture of the meat too much (this is where the pink sludge stuff comes in, but just because they changed the process of how they incorporated it, doesn't change the fact that it's still a filler to cheapen the production costs and lower the quality). Subway has a ton of soy fillers in their meatballs. The result is that you have food that doesn't taste like the real thing.
Those honey butter chips are my favorite thing to buy when I go to H-Mart. I need all stores to sell them. They are amazing!

Panda express is pretty much the only Chinese restaurant anywhere near us that doesn’t make you sick, but the carton that you showed of the chicken that you got in America was actually the mushroom chicken which is one of my favorites.
I love the honey butter chips. They had (have) a limited edition with Camembert as well. You should try it, if you find it 😉

One of the things I missed the most living in S Korea is good cheap Chinese food and Mexican foods. Panda Express is okay but costs twice as much as it is in the US.
I've stayed in that Residence Marriott in Yeouido a few times before and it's great. A nice location close to Yeouido Park and Han River. The buffet is pretty solid too
Mikey Chen H-Mart carries those honey butter chips, so if you have one near you they should be there.
Also as soon as I saw those I knew you'd be blown away. Some of the best potato chips I ever had. Definitely doing an H-Mart run next week.

If you get a chance before you leave Korea, try the snack called 구운대파. It's SO GOOD!!
Those calbee chips are incredible. I found them out here in the states in the imported world food isle and they are the best I’ve had too. Probably because they have been making chips for more than 40 years ! I haven’t tried the honey butter , my favorite is their hot and spicy chips and their shrimp puffs.

If you like sweet and spicy chips, I highly recommend the tteokbokki chips in Korea. It's legalized crack. That and the honey butter potato chips are my favorites.
