Visited Cleveland back in October. Came from Boston to see the Patriots play the Browns and I must say, Cleveland was a tremendous city. So spacious and clean, I hope I find a reason to go back soon. Absolutely loved it there.
I grew up 60 miles east of Cleveland. Going there to shop or visit museums and the marvelous Cleveland Public Library were rare, much-treasured events.
Cleveland was the enchanted city of OZ when I was growing up 60 miles east along Lake Erie. Your Lake Erie sunset made my heart leap with joy. That's exactly how beautiful it was and still is. My family spent the summer of 1960 in California, but all I wanted to do was get back to our old cliff top summer cottage overlooking the Lake. If you're ever in Cleveland, take the canal path bike trail south to Akron through the scenic Cuyahoga Valley, which outlived the fire by decades.

I've always said the names of the native American people given to them are all synonymous with warrior's Native Americans are true warries. Then you have some people complaining about calling pro athletes warriors or comparing two teams battling to war. Again it's synonymous of a battle people need to stop the nonsense get over it. Being offended is ignorant people's excuse for the attention they crave.
@@wolfhunter7690 As a toddler, I loved the grinning Cleveland Indians doll my dad brought home one day. My childhood dream was to wear next-to-nothing -- just like that smiling doll.
I'm from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada & I have always wanted to visit Cleveland, Ohio & check out all the best tourist attractions including Progressive Feild, Let's go Tribe!
I grew up in Cleveland and remember it was vibrant in the 50s, went downhill terribly in the 60s and 70s. Didn't visit there again until 2005 (family still lives there) and was pleasantly surprised at how my hometown has revived itself. The West Side Market easily rivals my adopted Philadelphia's Reading Terminal Market. I once used to joke that I am FROM Cleveland and it's a good place to be FROM (if you catch the irony). Now I say it with pride. Go Tribe, your time has come!
I can't wait to visit this fascinating City man fr. I'll be coming from South Central LA to pay Respects to our C town Soldiers USMC. Like Pac said 'We doing this shit from Cleveland to LA'...
Thanks for the video! I've travelled to many places over the last 6 years, some very beautiful, but none of them can compare to the feeling I get when I'm back home. Love all the improvements they have been making, and I look forward to moving back in a couple years when my next enlistment is up.
Cleveland is a truly wonderful city. It's my favorite place on earth--well, actually, that's The Jake. ;) I'm so happy it's been on the up-and-up lately. CLEVELAND ROCKS! Thanks for watching. :)
Well, I don't know Cleveland since I'm not a U.S. citizen; however I know the Randy Newman song well enough. I take it that the Cuyahoga river has been cleaned up a little since its famous river blazes of the 50's and 60's.
Jud Powell my parents live in akron y'all are part of Cleveland's metro/regional. To be honest we are the same city. We have the culture. Cleveland is big Akron, Akron is little cleveland :) forget NE rep CLE!!!
Although born and raised in Calif. my late dad had great memories of his time in Cleveland. He was back there the last time the Tribe won the World Series in the late 40's after the big war. .....I love the song "Short People" but this is by far Randy Newman's best song ever. It goes back to 1972 when the Cuyahoga River, and Cleveland Mayor Ralph Perk, had to have fires put out on them. That's right the Mayor set his hair on fire with a welding torch. I guess that's something they can't blame on former Mayor Dennis Kucinich. LOL. :)

just got back from the land. I have probably been to all of the places in the video except for the zip lining. Cleveland is beautiful and blighted all in one. The excitement was at a fever pitch with the carryover from the Cavs and the success of the tribe. They are pushing for a rematch of the series against the Dodgers. We will see.

Cleveland is corned beef. I live in California, where a cold night is 48 degrees and 85 is not uncommon in January. Got no real beef with Cleveland...wouldn't romanticize it though. Unemployment definitely sucks...
With the exception of toasting Leinenkugel's @ 2:06 (not Great Lakes or a local brew) this video does a really good job of showcasing Cleveland's appeal! Burn on, big river!
Good work. I've lived in Connecticut and Pennsylvania, and I've visited a lot of places. I've learned you can find something to like about anywhere you are...but Northeast Ohio is home.
Interesting video montage with music from my second favorite baseball movie. My first favorite is 'A League Of Their Own'. Soon one of two cities long suffering and loyal baseball fans will be doing their happy dances.
First time I heard this song was when I went to the movie "Major League." I got some serious hate for laughing very loudly when the line "Burn on, big river" came. The Cuyahoga River literally did catch fire in 1969, it was so incredibly polluted & full of flammable stuff. I grew up in Cincinnati, & jokes about Cleveland were gold. I was only 9 when the river burned, but had joined the Sierra Club by age 12 & was real up on pollution.
You're much kinder than I, Cubs Fan! The 2016 World Series was a childhood dream I'd tell people about through college (graduated in 2015 from BGSU), and everyone would scoff & tell me it would never happen. Unbelievably, it finally happened; then it went to extras in Game 7, featuring a rain delay...... :'( It was a truly epic world series, but I'm still not over it--and, to be quite honest, don't look at Cubs Nation the same way anymore... But thank you for the support--burn on, Guardians, indeed!
@@tribefan2693 coming to another season of baseball I'm ready to say it was a dream World Series that I was hoping for that year!
