    Sounds like every review of all other bows that come out every year. Smooth draw, holds on target, little to no hand shock. God, the same review every year, every manufacturer.

      someone you know I read about older hunters talk about how much innovation has gotten the compound bows of the 80s to where we are today. How much further can technology go with these bows? Speeds really haven’t gone up. I’m beginning to think the tech has peaked. All of the differences on bows today are less performance and more preference. Just a thought.

    • @someoneyouknow96

      @@hunterlawrence7228 I know how much innovation has gone into bows. I killed my first deer with a Martin cougar or bobcat. Can't remember what it was exactly. But it was 25 years old give or take.

    • @hunterlawrence7228
      @hunterlawrence7228 4 года назад

      someone you know what I mean is, how much different will technology allow these bows change from year to year now? I’m not seeing really any changes at all. I don’t fault manufacturers from not trying; rather, I just don’t think we will see any true improvements for a while.

    • @someoneyouknow96
      @someoneyouknow96 4 года назад

      @@hunterlawrence7228 agreed. They can't go much further. Instead the shops will lie their asses off to get some hype behind marginal improvements.

      If we continue to pay over a grand for new bows. Those attributes you listed should continue to stay true. I can attest that this bow truly is amazing but we sure are paying for the excellence.

    I like this bow has very much! At one time I had 5 Matthews and was shooting 3D circuit. But I switched over to shooting traditional and have done pretty well. I still have my mint condition Mathews q2xl hanging on the wall with quiver. Took a couple deer with it and shot it in a lot of tournaments but this bow might make me start shooting compound again.

    Good looking bow...I hate the idea of mods...makes selling a pain..and after a couple years gooa search for them. Also dont like swept forward limb pockets. You can see it torque or wiggle left and right when it hits the wall...reminds me of the way z7s easily torqued. Swept forward really makes for a torquing bow..I do like the riser though. Hopefully strong angle is better..last few bows you couldn't put the peep very high without running out of room..only bows that I can think of ever did that..annoying...great color...looks comfy...I like the speeds as well.

      Jeremy Landphier the switch weight system changes too much in the geometry of the cam. It makes it not as precise as the target line so they won’t have that technology in the target bows

      Matt McPherson has publicly said that Mathews will never build a carbon bow. It'd be interesting to see a carbon Mathews bow but that probably won't happen until after McPherson kicks the bucket.

    • @sharpshooter7686
      @sharpshooter7686 4 года назад

      @Rusty Shackleford I think McPherson's reasoning is that carbon doesn't reduce noise and vibration as well as aluminum with added dampening does. It's a lot like firearms, a light rifle shooting a heavy caliber gets more recoil than a heavy gun shooting a light caliber.

    • @jasonbarnes3188
      @jasonbarnes3188 5 лет назад

      aKu_SneakySnake TTV they went past parallel so they could have the long riser and still keep ata around 30 inches which is what the majority of there customers buy all the bows with Crosscentric cams have parallel limbs

    I think I’ve figured it out. Create the Vertix, then make it a little longer and a little shorter and give it a new name and watch the public lick it up. Dear bow makers it’s ok to not make another ‘FLAGSHIP’ each year and instead do something different. If this bow would have been 4.0 pounds or less then I might raise an eyebrow. Or how about this, make this bow 75-80 pounds without the switch weight so we can really run the poundage up and get some more speed.

    Nothing wrong with Mathews, but they sure are starting to seem pretty low-tech compared to other brands. At least compared to Elite and Bowtech with regards to tuneability. Kind of wish all the mfgs would stop the race to launch a “new” bow every year and instead wait until they have more meaningful technology advances.
