I was born and brought up in Cov but left in the early 80s at 16 to join the Army and have rarely returned. I hardly recognise it these days and certainly not the council estate I was from which has demographically changed beyond recognition - I got lost the last time I went back for a family funeral. Coventry is a distant memory for me and to be honest you couldn't pay me to live back there.
It was an elderly lady from Coventry who bought our house five years ago. She said she couldn't wait to get away from the place. We were in a northern seaside resort at the time.
I have always felt Cov to be a heartless, concrete waste land where people seem to look at you with distain and as if they want to punch you rather than shake your hand. Apart from the lovely mural on the side of the flats you filmed and the black and white timbered building it doesn't seem to have changed that much... Much appreciated as always bro 🙏
