Well Mazda it's a start. You've brought back AWD. Now just bring up the HP & Torque alongside a manual option for the enthusiast. Or better yet toss in a Turbo or Supercharger and that 2.5L engine. Stop being so conservative and cheap for once. Is it so wrong to splurge? This is a great step forward but your just not there. It's not the remarkable MS6 of the day but your coming closer to that mile stone. For once I'd just like to be blown out of the water instead of seeing these conservative choices year after year after year.
The front 50% looks good. The rest of the car looks like an unfinished final paper you submit to your professor. That C pillar/rear quarter panel is ugly as f*ck. The rear looks like a smaller Chevy Traverse. Now you can’t unsee that. I hope they update the mazda 6 with this infotainment and with AWD.
FYI the steering wheel controls are meant to be pushed (tilted) up/down with the centre silver piece, not actually pushed in individually. It works excellently.
Thank you for saying this. I've had the car for six months and haven't once accidentally pushed the wrong button :P The steering wheel controls are excellent.

Mazda3 owner here, at 12:39 you guys mentioned the buttons suck. Better late than never. I purchased a top-of-the-line sedan turbo 2022 in Feb 22 with no missing chips, all options in place, and it kicks %#@ ! Both beautiful in and out and fast! Zero to 60 in 5.2 sec. I had my man time it just to see. I LOVE IT! To be honest this is my third Mazda 3 with about 4 years in between each and not one has ever been in the shop. Way more bang for the buck!
12:37 Y'all are using the steering wheel buttons wrong. You aren't meant to squeeze your finger into the black. In this new steering wheel, you control everything from the silver bar. Example: tilt up for Vol+, tilt down for Vol-, press for Mute. So it's a rocker; the black is not a button, just a label.
I want this car RIGHT NOW! I love Mazda design and the tech behind the AWD system is truly amazing. I saw a video that focused on that more and it's a marvel of technology honestly
I own a 2024 ND3 Mazda Miata Club and it’s an amazing car and we’re currently looking at the 2024 Mazda3 hatch for my wife’s new car. I know this is an older review, but the car really hasn’t changed since this video and the car design has aged very well to me! Great review, I really enjoyed it!
Jakub I love your comment on the low driving position, something that most manufacturers can't get right, it's actually the most important thing in a driver's car next to chassis dynamics
Wife and I are taking a good look at this for a 3rd vehicle. Very nice car and think it will fit my wife well. Only complaint is no manual offered in the AWD and no other engine choices. Although this car is for my wife I am a firm believer to always have a more power , everything is solved with a little extra power and driver experience. Good review keep up the good reviews.
BloodySinner Lmao exactly I remember when everyone was bitching cause no more accord coupe but if people were actually buying them, then they’d keep it LOL
I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Mazdas after my '88 MX-6 back in the day. Love the little company doing great things. And while I will admit this isn't my favorite looking Mazda (the C-pillar to hatch area is a little meh and abrupt IMO), it still looks quite nice, and that interior is pretty sick considering its price point. Wish they would do more at the performance end of the spectrum, especially considering their great driving dynamics, but I still very much respect what they're doing with their brand.
I would definitely get this over the others! Saw the car in person. Looks way above its class. Wish they leveled up on the performance. Thanks for the great video!
I was waiting for your review and now this is the car I’m getting here in Peru when it comes. Your channel subscriptors would instantly increase if you add spanish subtitles. We are a lot of car lovers in Latin America. Great work, guys.
I prefer Mazda 3 AWD Hatchback over Impreza , Civic and Elantra ! Just because These days people enjoy Automatic Luxury cars such as Lexus , Volvo so yeah ! Plus it’s all wheel drive 💪
At 2:16, Yuri and Jakub say that the car has torque vectoring. It does not, technically it is "G Vectoring." It does not send torque into a corner, in fact, it reduces torque slightly on "turn in" to load the front wheels to increase their G vector (grip). On turn "out" of the corner, it drags the outside brake pad slightly help straighten the car out.
I agree with Jacub; I need time to like the back side . I am not a fan of the impreza. The elantra is ok but I would pick the Sedan. I am bothered with the butt of the hatchback.
I was entering praise for this car and realized that what I wanted to say instead is that you guys are reaching peak commercials (yes I know part of it is RUclips, but only Part)! Don't push me into a tv headache! Thank you.
I'm coming to the end of the road with a 2010 Hyundai Genesis coupe 2.0 T. (Rear wheel drive). And this car is at the top of the list. It looks amazing and it's AWD
This may be the only channel that convinced me about liking cars that I usually don’t like/hate. I’m a diehard Volvo fan but I’ve fallen in love with the 3, thanks to you ! As I’m writing, they did a TCR version of it for ~180 000 euros :) It looks unreal !
12:38 you should not press on the volume up button itself -,- you must push to the top or bottom on the silver part. Otherwise the buttons are to small of course.
As a Gen2 Mazda 3 driver - that rear suspension change was likely at least in part due to how the rear suspension just EATS strut mounts. With the added weight from that new C pillar, there's no way those mounts would survive unless they changed up that rear end.
Love the car, love the hatch more, because it reminds me of the original Mazda GLC, with a little bit of Alfa Brera thrown in. I think it has better proportions than the CX-5 and CX-3. Mazda seems to have decided that making cars designed around how much the owner enjoys it will sell more units. There’s just so much to like about them. They feel less appliance like than any competing manufacturer.
The 'balancing of your head' is part of the Skyactiv tech. I didn't realize but Skyactiv is actually more than just fuel efficient engines. It's a tech philosophy they've applied to the engine, transmission, chassis and vehicle dynamics. They use the engine's torque, combined with inputs from the throttle and steering to stabilize everything reducing the forces your body feels while cornering, braking, or accelerating. Their goal was to make driving as natural as walking to the human body.
Just bought a 2021 mazda 3 thanks to your video! head and shoulders above the other cars in this segment based on what my wife and i care about. thanks fellas.
This car looks so damn good. I love how It looks In that red color. I'ma wait for depreciation and hopefully scoop one up In 3 years. I'ma get a 2007-2009 Mazda 3 Hatchback within a year and then upgrade to one of these. I can't wait, It motivates me to work more.
Presently the prettiest hatch in all the land, sedan is also really good ( mini-Mazda 6 with a dash of Mitsubishi Lancer thrown in ) but not the same eye-catching impact as hatch. C-Pillar gives the car it's fantastic stance, but also less vision. Loving the clutter-free design execution. FWD manual would be a great pick for the old-school types. Along with gloss piano finish, Info screen with tricky thick borders needs to go ASAP. Great Review guys and fantastic camera/extreme angles shots/drone. Non-related - I think next Impreza could adopt Legacy full vertical table info screen.
I don't know if I've ever been so simultaneously attracted to and confused by the styling of a vehicle. Maybe that was Mazda's intention. Whatever the case, it looks expensive. This would be my choice if I was in the market for a compact. Mazda is really cranking out some amazing stuff lately.
Love u guys, u guys took the spot from Doug and carwow for my favorite car reviewers on RUclips, feels so natural and unscripted. Have all the necessary details and no bullshit. Also funny as hell. Please review the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, own one myself and would love to see u guys’ take on it! It is such as special and brilliant car, u guys won’t regret driving it!
Honda just needs to make a civic si hatchback manual. That's the dream. This would be best in class imo if you're more performance focused and the Mazda 3 if you're more comfort and style focused. Type R is not my cup of tea but I'm glad they make it.
Really good review! I really appreciate the small details that you guys pointed out like the fact that when the vehicle is moving, the middle portion of the light bulbs will be also on (not just the halos), I agree that the halos alone that light up will be better, what was Mazda thinking. Making the halos alone that light up will differentiate the highest trim between the rest, aesthetic wise. Also I like that you pointed out that the HUD is still visible when using polarized sunglasses.
Hey great review, got mine in Dark Blue :D. About the wheel buttons, the best way to use them I found is just tilting the middle part of it upwards or downwards and if you need the function on the middle button just press it. At first I was also struggling with those buttons once I started tilting that middle part and got used to it works like a charm and I think that maybe that was the way it was intended to be used haha. About the backup camera and android auto, supposedly Android auto is theone that does not support widescreen since Apple car play does use the whole screen (which sucks since I use a Pixel 3) and the backup camera is like that because in EU I think they have a 360 camera but not here unfortunately =/.
Missed one competitor: VW Golf Sportwagon 4Motion. Same price, awd, about the same power, about the same sportiness. VW gets props on the tunability. Mazda gets props on being naturally aspirated. It'd be a hard choice if I was buying new. Buying used, Mazda all the way.
I agree on some points but is the Sportwagon really a direct competitor vs the Golf? I mean the Sportwagon is a wagon, not a normal hatchback. I would say the Golf is the more direct competitor. If you were looking for AWD hatchbacks I would say the Golf R would be tough to beat but you gotta pay up for one.
My first car was a 1982 Mazda GLC, now Mazda 3, drove for 10 years. GLC stands for great little car, very fitting for this look looking new 3. I picked Mazda over Honda in 1982 and will pick Mazda again today.
I just picked up this vehicle, and I could not be happier. I liked the sportier newer look compared to the Subaru, and I like a little more engine power. The base package is also surprisingly nice. You didnt mention the awesome safety features, I am finding those helpful and great for insurance costs.
I'm glad you guys like this one. The looks had the same effect on me, I didn't like it at all when I first saw it, but now it has grown on me. Excited to see reviews of the SkyactivX when it comes out. I hope you guys will do another review of that one later this year.
I think you guys should also review the C pillar during driving. B’coz its very distinctive and I think its gonna create a huge blindspot, and if there is any quirks that can counter it, you should explain it as well. Great reviews by the way!
I love the way this car looks and the interior looks fantastic. But, coming from a 2018 MX-5, I think I finally understand some of Yuri's enthusiasm / obsession with the infotainment. That new Mazda system looks super slick and a huge upgrade from mine. I also prefer the list-style display to the five circles, it looks a lot more professional / "premium".
Good job good review as usual. Was owner of first gen of Mazda 3, loved it. A bit disappointed with the engine output of this gen .. only 20-30 more than the one I drove back then
I have acknowledge the way this video is presented, the shots and angles are something i havent seen presented before, I'm amazed. Plus amazing review of the car.looks cool!
i got this car for a few days and i agree it's a very good car. the interior blows the competition away. the driving dynamics are also great (just lacks actual power) what i'm not a big fan of is the looks. I can't seem to find an angle that i really like which is abnormal for a mazda. the lack of defined lines and creases in the exterior is hard to get used to. the rear looks weird. I prefer the look of the previous generation

Keep up the quality camera work. Looks excellent 👌
How did they did it? That camera on top of the car?
@@kristiancasipit6005 Probably a 360 camera as I see the stand base attached on the windshield
Looks amazing 😍
This was my favorite looking car at the auto show this year, and I've been to the dealership multiple times just to look at it. Amazing design
I thought I was the only "window shopper" of pretty cars 😁
+TheStraightPipes These are BY FAR my favorite reviews you guys do because they are cars I can actually acquire and your review format is flawless. Perfect balance between information, cool shots and entertainment. It's like you guys know what you're doing or something...
It looks more like a Hunchback and personally, I would prefer the sedan/fastback variant because that looks beautiful
Hatch is awful front/rear, but front end of sedan isn't any better.
The 3 sedan is the best looking car in its class imo
The sedan does look much better, the hatch is horrible.
@@NukePooch1 You need glasses man. Lol
Android Auto got an update for widescreen yesterday luckily.
You can also force 1080p to get widescreen via developer options.
You guys has mastered the art of automobile photography. Every shot is artistic!
The front is very pointy and sleek, while the back is very soft and bloated. I'm gonna need to see this car in person to make a judgment!
Exactly. Couldnt have said it better myself
The new Mazda 3 looks amazing in flesh. Thanks to the new 2019 model......got a 2018 touring model last Friday for 18300.
content and quality are getting better and better. these two deserve more subscribers.
Mazda please, please put the AWD system in the Mazda6 2.5 turbo!
But are you going to BUY it? I don't understand comments like these.
BloodySinner Lmao exactly I remember when everyone was bitching cause no more accord coupe but if people were actually buying them, then they’d keep it LOL
mazda awd is fwd most of the time. If you dont have harsh winters in your area is just a waste of money to get the awd version
@@bloodysinner9456 Why would I take the effort to watch it and comment if I weren't even remotely interested in buying one?
And the turbo in this car.
Wish they'd make a sportier version like the type r or Veloster n. I wanna see that baby with a spoiler on it.
Not happening
Nah not a spoiler. Looks fucking childish. But a performance version would be awesome
Maybe Saleen or someone will come out with a sportier body kit.
aka new Mazdaspeed 3, not going to happen though sadly
No manual WTF. Under powered. Guess it is between Honda so or Elantra gt N line
15:05 My ex's reaction to seeing me naked for the first and only time.
🤣
🤣🤣🤣
lol
Lmao dead.
Lmao
I did not skip your watch ad. Your'e welcome!
these two guys are just the greatest combination
Wow for a Mazda 3 the interior looks really nice, love the red.
I agree with Jacub; I need time to like the back side . I am not a fan of the impreza. The elantra is ok but I would pick the Sedan. I am bothered with the butt of the hatchback.
I would recommend the new Mazda 3 AWD to someone that needs space, not too sure about family comfort, but plenty of cargo! Amazing review
I was entering praise for this car and realized that what I wanted to say instead is that you guys are reaching peak commercials (yes I know part of it is RUclips, but only Part)! Don't push me into a tv headache! Thank you.
6:24 it looks like a super-comfy spaceship interior!
Manual + AWD + turbo = return of the GTX! I still like this new mazda3...with the manual. thanks, boys!
Me too, I have the money to buy one, but will never buy an automatic car.
I’m with Yuri on this one, it looks so amazing!!! The hatch looks stunning
Beautiful car. The hatch is just stunning. Great review
This is probably my new future first car now 👌🏿👌🏿
12:38 you should not press on the volume up button itself -,- you must push to the top or bottom on the silver part.
I recently bought this. It’s my first car and it is so great.
Am I the only one taking about how good and to the point this review is, killed the review keep up the crazy work
Thnks
Love the car, love the hatch more, because it reminds me of the original Mazda GLC, with a little bit of Alfa Brera thrown in. I think it has better proportions than the CX-5 and CX-3. Mazda seems to have decided that making cars designed around how much the owner enjoys it will sell more units. There’s just so much to like about them. They feel less appliance like than any competing manufacturer.
I will get Mazda over EVERYTHING else in its class.
i love it, i even prefer it to a mercedes A class or Audi A3, those are just way more expensive for like 5% more.
Just bought a 2021 mazda 3 thanks to your video! head and shoulders above the other cars in this segment based on what my wife and i care about. thanks fellas.
very light and easy to catch on presentation.. keep it on fellas
Just got the car yesterday with a preffered package 😁 I love it!
This car looks absurdly amazing, but that blind spot in the back is huge.
By far the best reviewers on YT
Am i the only one who prefers the look of the HB rather than the sedan 🤷🏼♂️
iXii000 I like it too
I like it
they said it looks better in person
As I brit I find sedan versions of hatches really weird. So dw we think the hatch looks better too xD
I love the hatch
I don't know if I've ever been so simultaneously attracted to and confused by the styling of a vehicle. Maybe that was Mazda's intention. Whatever the case, it looks expensive. This would be my choice if I was in the market for a compact. Mazda is really cranking out some amazing stuff lately.
I hardly comment on RUclips but I have to say, this is the best f****n car channel EVER!!!!
Thank you
I keep thinking a license plate is gonna ruin that absolutely gorgeous look.
F, we don't need front licence plates where i live
I live in cali and I just use the rear plate
Great. Now bring back the Mazdaspeed 3 with AWD and 300hp.
That would make the car cost $40k or more. Don't think anyone would pay that much for a Mazda.
@@Hboogie182 they would.
@@deet4895 if I'm spending over $35k on a car I'd rather get a Civic Type R.
@@Hboogie182 can you actually get one for MSRP? That's the question.
@@deet4895 of course $38k out the door.
Thanks, we're trying to get one this year
Honda just needs to make a civic si hatchback manual.
Once my BMW lease is up I’m definitely getting this. Beautiful job Mazda
This is so weird. I'm going to be buying my first mazda...
You'll love it..
You’ll never go back
My first car was a 1982 Mazda GLC, now Mazda 3, drove for 10 years.
You didnt mention the awesome safety features, I am finding those helpful and great for insurance costs.
how is the vehicle doing now?
I'm glad you guys like this one. The looks had the same effect on me, I didn't like it at all when I first saw it, but now it has grown on me. Excited to see reviews of the SkyactivX when it comes out. I hope you guys will do another review of that one later this year.
Been waiting for these reviews for so long now, and you guys didn't disappoint! I know what my next car's going to be :)
I know, 2020 Subaru Legacy, right??
I think you guys should also review the C pillar during driving. B’coz its very distinctive and I think its gonna create a huge blindspot, and if there is any quirks that can counter it, you should explain it as well. Great reviews by the way!
Both the new Mazda3 and Corolla hatchbacks look amazing. The design of these two cars is just on another level.
You know what I love about yall? The thoughts are cohesive, yall dont mumble on and on, and yall seem like such nice homies for reals. LOL
Rewatching after Mazda teased a 2.5 turbo 😭🙌
ME TOO!!! the new front lip and rear spoiler look awesome on the turbo.
@@jerwatson79 They look beautiful forsure, if you want a more in depth look I recommend checking out the Signature Mazda 3 released 2020 in Japan. :D

I'm getting this as my first car. Looks awesome
Holy crap, you guys are so on point; efficient and focused discussion like this is so rare! Gorgeous review!
I like the sedan version way more than this, like Jeremy Clarkson once said about the Crossfire "It looks like a dog hunched over to take a poo"
LOL. I cannot unsee this image now!
This won't be the first time that you are wrong.
Agree
I like the hatch, but this comment is funny, and I can kinda see it, but I still like the hatch.
Good job good review as usual.
Was owner of first gen of Mazda 3, loved it. A bit disappointed with the engine output of this gen .. only 20-30 more than the one I drove back then
You'll love the turbo coming to the 3 in 2021!
The sedan looks better than the Hatch. The hatch looks weird to me, it’s just lacking especially towards the back
2018 hatch is much better looking. The rear end of this is strange... I think it's the huge C-pillar and maybe the rounded over look I don't care for.
I have acknowledge the way this video is presented, the shots and angles are something i havent seen presented before, I'm amazed. Plus amazing review of the car.looks cool!
Thanks
i got this car for a few days and i agree it's a very good car. the interior blows the competition away. the driving dynamics are also great (just lacks actual power) what i'm not a big fan of is the looks. I can't seem to find an angle that i really like which is abnormal for a mazda. the lack of defined lines and creases in the exterior is hard to get used to. the rear looks weird. I prefer the look of the previous generation
