FYI I have the bread and the stone in the wrong places here. They should be the opposite way round.
I’ve played this game twice. And have to say, I like it a lot. So different from anything out there. And as a believer, myself, it’s just great to play a game with this theme. Just brilliant 😊
Great to see this theme implemented well.
As a Christian this game's unusual theme interests me. Thank you for your thorough and helpful review.
Ive been interested in this game since i saw it comming out. Happy you rate it higly. Cool theme and looks like a solid medium to heavy medium game. Right up my street 🙌
It look like a very well designed game. You got me interested in it. Also I enjoy the uniqueness of the theme.
I really think this game is going to be big for diver.
Again, the usual mistake because the colors choice in design. Rulebook; Page 15: "You can get Resources from these Locations:
Stones can be found in the Desert,
Bread at the Mountain... " ;-)
Whoops haha
I had this game in my hands yesterday but was honestly waiting for your review on it, glad you loved it. Do you feel it is respectful of the theme? I often play with groups from my church, just wanted to make sure it was in good taste.
Hi Matt. Nothing struck me as being in bad taste. Feedback I've seen from Christians seems fairly positive on the whole.

Thank you. Teaching Brazil: Imperial to my group tonight, another great recommendation from you!
@@mattschwenk7000 tried this game today, there was even related scripture in the rulebook which I thought was a nice touch
Love the cover art except what looks like an Orc or troll on the right in the background. 🤷🤔😄
Maybe I missed it but what is the preferred player count?
3-4 (you didn't miss it)
Did you manage to play it at 2 player? It seems to be almost a completely different game and I'm not sure wether to pick it up or not.
I haven't. I'll reserve it for 3-4 as I'm aware there are a fair amount of additional rules to cater to two.
The biggest difference seems to be no favours at 2 players
@@alexthorne6996 There's an entirely different mechanic about exchanging neutral workers with additional scoring rules too, which completely changes how the game is played. Ant lab did a playthrough
@@KenDudd ah ok thanks
I couldn't disagree more with your final thoughts. The deck building component is weak due to inability to cycle the market or remove starter cards. Card actions feel forced as the column bonus scoring and apostle actions far outweigh any deviations you would take otherwise. The area control element around the last supper also lacked enough interaction for me. You can only swap places with opponents 4 times total for the apostle actions, and the placement of Judas felt inconsequential as the only reason players would line up in an empty column is for the immediate scoring apostles. Punishing a single player for taking that line doesn't feel very interesting.
Different strokes for different folks.
