This video is so timely! Thanks for making it. I just finished setting up the game earlier and read the rulebook. I haven’t played yet. I usually play two-handed solo to learn the game before I teach others, but this game had a bit more changes from 3-4 player setup and gameplay than I expected.

Great review. I bought this blind based on theme alone so it's a relief to hear its not terrible!

Excellent playthrough, very thorough and clear. And I agree, no playthrough is error free, but I've learned that in our community we help each other out so that we can all learn and enjoy the games together. Thanks for your video!

    Great Playthrough!
if you place your follower in a spot of a friendly follower you don‘t get the printed reward. The reward is the friendly follower.

rulebook : "In a 2-player game, when you place a Follower in the Last Supper
(using a Go to the Last Supper or Be Invited to the Last Supper action),
you have a choice: You may place them in an empty space following the normal rules OR place them in a space that holds aFriendly Follower.
If you do, take that Friendly Follower and place them by your player board. But you do not get any reward that is printed in that space. "

thanks a lot from Italy! Just a small correction🤣: you don t score points immediately by placing apostles, except for the card s points (the green points) and the ability of orange apostle.
For the rest, in my opinion, you both are the best one for board game explanation: very clear with slow explanation and enjoyable playthrough. Thanks again and sorry for my english

in page 18 of rulebook say "Once the Apostle is seated and his Appreciation awarded, the
player earns VP equal to the Apostle Points shown on the cards used in the set." we score points when the Apostolle seated on the table. If the Apostolle is already seated and in next round we remove friendly follower to put our own in that seat maybe we dont get that points. Miss Carmen Garcia will carify this quetion for 2p .

When we put a follower on table seat in a line where is sitted an Apostolle we score the points from the Apostole ... on video you did it 54:44"

Just played my first game of Ierusalem with my wife yesterday. We enjoyed it but we echo a lot of your thoughts. First, agreed they need a player aid for the board so you know what bonuses exist under all those meeples. My wife actually made a print out of the board half-way through our play. So helpful! Going to laminate it. Second, yeah, the latter half of the game is very anti-climatic, where you just don't have stuff to do because it's not needed - all workers off your camp, all disciples out, etc. I like your ideas of shortening the game and will have to try that out.
At the end of the day, we put this in on our "probation" shelf. And, like you, the theme totally saves it and will probably make it stay in the collection. There's a lot going on and just wasn't quite sure about it. Good point about playing at a higher player count and maybe that's where it properly belongs. Although it still feels like it may have that odd end-of-game period.
Thanks for the review and thanks for all the videos!

Thank you for doing this gameplay video, as you mentioned. This was very inciteful. The tediousness of sticker application, but appreciation the beauty of it afterwards. The gameplay difference between the 1-2 vs 3+ player count and your thoughts on that. This was, again, very helpful.

17:01 you can take the resources, it's only at the end of your turn where you are limited by the storage limit. I do believe.

If we have 3 cards in the collum, but not in correct order, instead od visiting the Apostolle we could send cards to discard pile or we wait until we find card the symbol to rearrange cards in line ?! ατ 57:10 minute of video you had 3 cards in column the 3rd card was temple and you activate white Apostolle, but the white has the temple card in the middle. in rulebook wrote that we need to have cards correct order line to "visit Apostolle" .. yes ?!

i played this game at the 3 player count and i really liked it, there is more space to put the followers at the beggining. I want to play it at the 4 player count, but overall its a solid game and the game doesnt overstay its welcome. Once everybody knows how the game flows i can see this game being played in an hour or 1:30

Hello! Love your content so much! Keep going on!
I've been playing this game lately and I must say that you're right when you say it's too long. That track is interesting more than I thought but yes, it should be going up every round! Would have been a totally different game; more tense and more enjoyable probably.
I must say though, that I enjoyed the push and pull of the friendly followers in the two player game, it creates a lot of interaction. In 3 or 4 players, without that interaction, the game is basically a multi solitaire. I don't mind at all the fact that someone could move my follower from a good spot with the white Apostle, because I can get points in other ways. I find the purple ones stronger.
One of the biggest problem is the replay-ability. The game is the same every time you play.
In the end the mechanics concept is good but it seems that the game lacks a big part.
I used only the Apostle and Jesus stickers, saved me a lot of time :D

The rulebook says that in order to visit an Apostle you must have "Exactly 3 cards with the same location symbols in exactly the same order (p.17)? but you just had cards with symbols ignoring order. Are there any changes for 2p? havent found it... Whats then the sense of icon "redistribute"? (They are on mahane cards)

    • @AntLabGames
      @AntLabGames  Год назад

Our rules state that the cards need to be in the correct column, but we don’t remember reading they need to be in the same order. The redistribute allows you to move cards between columns.

@@AntLabGames so strange. in my no word about column, but highlited in bold "exactly the same order" . In letsplay they do the same (f.ex. Love2hate, Tom Vasel). Redistribute says change the order and column and additionally discard up to 3 cards.

    • @AntLabGames

I don’t think it would work, because you are missing the favors element anyway, and the table would be way too open. The icons on the table are also different (more plentiful and refer to the follower actions) on this 2 player side too. So I don’t think there’s any getting around it!
