    Glad you enjoyed it and presenting real map of Serbia. Just note Serbia is geographically not Eastern Europe but South/South eastern Europe:)

    In all these fortresses various battles of Serbian knights against Ottoman (Turkish) robbers (army)!!! Of course, various invaders came here even before Ottomans: Byzantine empire, Catholic crusaders, Bulgarians, Hungarians and others!!! Many came and passed!!! The entire Serbia has many fortresses and castles!!!🤔🤨😎😤

    There used to be much more to see of Smederevo fortress before WW2. As the German occupiers utilized a section of the fortress as a huge gunpowder magazine, there happened a devastation explosion that killed a few thousand people and destroyed a substantial part of the town as well. What you see today are only the remains of once magnificient place. The corner of the fortress that you visited is best-preserved/rennovated.

    You guy's are my favorite traveling couple you have been some amazing places I will be visiting Croatia this May was supposed to go in Oct had to postponed trip but excited to go this spring hope to visit Slovenia,Bosnia and Serbia this trip being so close I hope 2 weeks is enough to visit all those countries so much to see and do😊

    • @LucasWorldTravel
      @LucasWorldTravel  Год назад

      Aww, thanks so much! Glad, we are your favorites. If you only have 2 weeks though I would recommend a week in Slovenia and a week in Croatia. We find that each city is worth at least a 2-3 night stay so by the time you see Ljubljana, Bled, Split, and Dubrovnik and maybe Rovinj. That alone can take up your entire 2 weeks.

    39.2 km from Golubac fortress in your way to Kladovo you pass by archeological place called “Lepenski vir”. Its 12000 year old human inhabitants of people leave on Dunav coast (mostly fisherman). The oldest human inhabitants in Europe.

    You have a Turkish fortress, Fetislam, a few hundred yards before Kladovo center, by the river. It's also newly restored and well worth a visit.
    From Veliko Gradište and quite far beyond Kladovo you have the Valachian region, where Vlachs live. In Serbia they have Serbian names but speak Romanian. Just at the other end of Kladovo, there is an excellent winery and Negotin, an hour's drive to the south is one of the top wine regions of Serbia.

    Also, @lucas couple. I highly recommend Bulgaria and Romania. Especially Varna, Sofia and Plovdiv, and Bukarest in Romania. Don't drive in Romania, though, at least not in the capital. They have affordable Ubers and it's best.

    1:16- footage of what road is this? It really does not look like Serbia, more like Siberia;) No class 2 roads look like this in Serbia. Maybe some remote village but even for that it is too wide. When I consider trees I am 99% sure this is not Serbian road.

    • @LucasWorldTravel
      @LucasWorldTravel  11 месяцев назад +3

      This is 100% a Serbian road. This one was on the way to Novi Sad. This is why we advise taking the toll roads to avoid roads like this.

    • @cinoeye
      @cinoeye 11 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks for the reply. I work as road engineer in Serbia and Europe. I can assure you this is not the road in Serbia. There is no horizontal signalization(road lines), no asphalt surface and too many trees from Northern Europe.. You can find online videos of the old road to Novi Sad that absolutely does not look like this. I also play geoguesser and you can see black snow sticks/poles (1:19)that are not used in Serbia. Again if you took the video of this please tell us exactly the spot where it was taken.

      @@cinoeye I agree 100%, these were my thoughts as well. I was in such disbelief that that's a road in Serbia, that I had to pause the video and take another look, and to me it still looks more like some random road in Russia

    Dracul is Serbian...just like Romanians...they have our gens...just like people from Russia,Montenegro,Bulgaria,Beloruse,Ukraine,Poland,Slovakia,Check,Greece,Macedonia,Croatia,Bosnia,Slovenia...even Ireland,Scotland,some from eastern Germany,some from Hungary,some from North Italy,some from north Turkey....only people from Balkans still speak Serbian language...and they know that they are Serbian but they sold their religion for a dinner...half of Bosnia(republic of Srpska)half of Montenegro and some in Macedonia are still ortodox christians...just like our brothers Russians,Bulgarians,Romanians,Belorusians,Greeks and a big number of Ukranians whose great great grandfathers came to Russia from the region of Kraina wich is in Republic of Srpska in Bosnia...see the connection...KRAINA...UKRAINA..Ukranians write UKRAINA..see the connection between languages...serbians-Alexander the great,Constantin the zar,Atila the hun,Nikola Tesla......Novak Djokovic,Nikola Jokic....and some that wood be too much to comprehend...
