Introducing Irina @retrofrog who has created this lovely 1920s flapper makeup look. How to apply cupids bow lips, shimmer eyeshadow, dramatic kohl eyeliner, and rosy blush makeup for that iconic Jazz Age look. ✨💄Enjoy !
It's funny how often people comment on videos like this, how "time-consuming" it all was back in those days. Yet, here we are in modern times, spending hours and hours with phones, apps, mindless scrolling etc. I rather spend a few minutes more on looking put-together, than hours on my phone, looking at nonsense. Lovely video! ❤
The older I get, the more time I need to spend on my appearance and the more products I need to buy. I wish it weren't so important to me, but it is. I don't want to look like a hag.
absolutely stunning! ❤❤ this is how I remember my grandma making up! ❤ especially the lipshape of applying your lipstick very fond memories thank you I love this channel thank you ❤❤
im gonna be a picky asshole for a sec and say this is not strictly historically accurate. first off im not sure what specifically about this is early 20s vs later 20s, if i had to date it as close as possible id say it looks more late 20s. obviously they did not have our modern sorts of makeup products or techniques. they used cold cream then powder, no liquid foundation and definitely no contouring of any sort. they wanted to round out their face if anything, not make it look more “sculpted”. then theyd use a kohl pencil for eyes and eyebrows, ill say its close enough here although im not sure if theyd have access to brown vs black. and eyebrows were usually extended lower and more thin lines, not upswept at all or rounded which is more 30s. and cake mascara with a brush. eyeshadow could be colored but i doubt sparkly and sheer, and colored eyeshadow is a bit more late 20s in general. rouge was used in a circular sort of shape on the apples of cheeks, not in this sort of cheekbone defining way. the lipstick is not awful but mayyybe just a little too wide on the lower lip, a narrow, cupids bow/bee stung look was popular, focused towards the center. lipstick then got a bit “wider” for lack of a better way of putting it in the 30s. and hair rollers werent a thing yet, rag curls were a popular method as well as permenant waves and pin curls
not trying to act like i know better (i probably don't) but isn't she doing the cateye effect with her eyeshadow and mascara? That wasn't really a thing back then. I also have a feeling that the brows are too heavy and that glittery eyeshadow wasn't used in the 20s... but as I said, I may be wrong
Utterly time consuming! No wonder it's called "make up"! She does look amazing transformed but still, what a hassle woman used to felt obliged to do to even go run an errand! No wonder peeps got lazy by the '60s and started the slob look😅 To everyone's dismay, really but i get it. Also, you wonder how piling all that on your pores wreaks havok- my oily skin would erupt into pimple city.

To think that the 1920’s happened a hundred years ago is insane. I love that makeup look by the way.
I love the "that's all!" at the end😊❤
Очень эротичная!!!!!!

We agree!
Wow! Incredible how this video is remastered from the 20's. It looks so real if it's nowadays.
I remove some of the foundation from the forehead because it’ll enhance the forehead lines if you don’t ❤
OMG, one of your best! ❤
So beautiful! @retrofrog is amazing!
For a split second, I thought you were Vivien Leigh!

Love that eyeshadow pallet she was using...the colors are gorgeous!❤
I love this channel. Lovely to see how things used to be when the world was a better place
our world is shit now but to think 1920s is better than today is wild, it's only better if you were upper class while the average lives in bad hygiene
The world was much worst off then : World wars, bloodbaths, disease, early death.
The world is cursed. Back then and now just the same😖🤨
Too Face was founded in 1998. Great video non the less.😊
NOW!!!! ....... I understand why it took women hours to get ready! No wonder men were frustrated waiting downstairs so long before going out.
Very beautiful❤
❤
200x F YAS !!!

Early 1920's make-up would typically be natural brows, matte shadow and matte lip stick. You are definitely right about all the other stuff also.

When I was a child, I used to wonder why is it called make-up. Making up things lol😂😂😂
