Was fortunate to be able to be at the 2022 nationals in Nashville. Everyone who was there were going nuts with the step sequence at the end. Just an incredible performance overall. Still get so much joy watching it a year later.
It's been awhile since I've seen this, and I forgot just how light and joyful it really was. It's unfortunate that he singled the 3F. But it didn't take away from the overall performance.
It looked amazing with the planet design which suited the music perfectly. I liked the fact it was masculine and not prissy like so many other men’s costumes!

Nathan definitely deserve the gold, he didnt deserve all the hate and rude comments in the social media and mainly focusing in his outfit. BUT WELP they probably didnt watch hisperformance cause you wouldnt even think of what his dress because it was enchanting, exciting and a sight to see!! DESERVE DESERVE
I think what people were having the issue with was that his costume was a Vera Wang, and it looks like you could’ve gotten the same thing on eBay or Amazon for much cheaper. The costume was great for his routine, people were just shocked that it was a designer outfit
He looked fabulous. In any case, the main thing was his outfit showed the clear lines of his graceful performance. Showing the movement, outline of the body as it moves from one movement to the next is very important in judging. Agree, his performance was brilliant. Seemed effortless, etherial. And the main thing was people were absolutely enchanted by him. He had charisma as well as the skills.

I know. I love Nathan's versatility and song choices. Too many skaters now choose songs by alternative artists that have a plodding tempo, angst-filled lyrics, and a dark tone. I know what you're talking about. So tired of those repetitive song choices from too many skaters.
I don't think people realize how crazy 2:10 is, if you look at his torso it's spinning continuously, but in order to keep himself skating forward, he has to quickly switch his foot between forward and backward facing

Love Nathan, but it wasn't flawless, technically. Shaky landing on the salchow and triple toe in combo popped into a single. But 5 quads and incredible performance.
How great is Nathan? It took two years after he won the Olympics for his LP world record score to be broken. Even now, he still owns the world records for the SP and total score, as well as 5 of the Top 10 total scores of all time, including the #1 spot. He also still owns the highest PCS (97.22) score for a LP and the highest scores in the history of U.S. Nationals, the Grand Prix Final, and the Olympics. On top of that, he still owns the highest GOE ever awarded for a single jump (+4.93) and the ONLY +5 GOE ever awarded to any skater in any discipline. He's an absolute legend in this sport and the GOAT. Ilia will probably overtake more of Nathan's records as time goes on, but the fact that they've stood for two years (and most longer) is impressive. By comparison, Hanyu finished his career holding NO world records of any kind and no major figure skating titles. Nathan went out as the 6-time consecutive and reigning National Champion, 3-time consecutive and reigning Grand Prix Final Champion, 3-time consecutive and reigning World Champion, and Olympic Champion.
