Sort of. You can read the notification which usually includes the message, but you can't reply since it doesn't have a touchscreen.

They both do different things well. NMS is the ultimate in exploration and crafting, and the multiplayer and all the free updates are sweet. Starfield has awesome visuals, fully fleshed out quests and storytelling, and solid combat.
@@blastofo You are correct about the visual combat side quests and the storyline is kinda similar. Yes it's more detailed than nms and the idea of the story is almost similar to nms what are your thoughts.

@@thisdoesnotexist4648 I played NMS in VR for a couple hundred hours, because the exploration factor is even better, But the writing, the Atlas storyline, it feels like it was written by an android. It's really nonsensical and vague. Starfield's writing is much better. More about personal relationships and drama, corporate espionage, organized crime, political corruption, etc.. But yeah the flight and planet exploration comes nowhere close to NMS.
