It's assumed dogs dream in different colors than people do, but they don't dream in black and white. Here's why:
The human eye contains light receptors that allow us to see the full spectrum of colors between red and violet. Dogs however, don't have all the light receptors humans have. Some colors dogs simply can't see. For instance, dogs have trouble differentiating red from green, similair to people who are colorblind. That's why it's adviced to buy your dog a blue ball instead of a red ball, so that the dog can still see the ball when it's thrown onto the green gras. So basically, because dogs see things in different colors, it's assumed they dream in those colors as well.

According to new research, dogs actually dream in color, it’s just more muted, such as dreaming in yellow, blue, and grey. Thanks for the cool facts and keep up the good work

It’s based on photoreceptors and if we know what photoreceptors dogs have and how many we are able to determine what colors they see.
@@hanselguzman7089 its beacuse of thier eyes can only se alimited amount of colors so iuts impossible for them to see colors they have never even seen but the part that their colors are more muted is probably also something with their eyes to do but im not so sure. just did a little research on it

If i recall right. The way people are able to tell about what's going on in a animals brain is that they put these pads on them, and it's able to scan their neurons.
