I'm no scientist, but the glaciers are already melting and there's a scare that if you melt glaciers that parts of the world will start to get flooded. Also the glaciers help with cooling the environment

This is straight philosophy. The part about the value of gold not being intrinsic, its something I think about all the time
Game of thrones isn’t set in any actual time. Its a fictional place in a fictional world in a fictional time however alot of it is loosely based on true events and people from the middle ages.
So, about the Bran wheelchair thing; I'm pretty sure he got the Wheelchair from the maesters. At least, that's what's told to us in the books, I believe. Another thing is that while it is a show set in a fantasy realm, a lot of technology we see in the show is consistent with a medieval time period, probably 1200s or 1300s. That said, they had wheels then, and chairs too, so the idea of a wheelchair at that time (or in a realm consistent with that time period) isn't that farfetched.
