I realy enjoyed the whole first person experience! Wat an awesome race and you did amazingly well! So sad about the runner - Andy Raynor talked about that at length in his post-race vlog too! Stay strong and keep pushing!
Well done mate, doing London for the first time next week so doing a bit of research and watched a fair few of these race day videos, have to say this is the best one by far 👍🏻
At 4:26 the guy running with two bananas! Very well done Ian. How you feeling now? It is always sad hearing of anyones death, let alone whilst running a marathon. RIP.
His version of energy gels 😂 Thanks very much, you passed me just by Deptford your pace was faster I would have said hello!! Feeling ok now thanks looking forward to getting some decent training starting next week.
Congratulations, fantastic effort to pull that off given everything that happened leading up to the race. Top work on the video as well, really enjoyed it., very well put together. Nice touch to put the note at the end regarding the awful news of the guy who passed away, very sad.
Excellent vid - just stumbled in to this one. I did the LM too, similar pace to you, and showed this to my elderly parents - it gives a great view of what I ex-erienced. One more subscriber for yiu, look forward to seeing some more vids - keep ut up.
Great video Ian. You told the story of your day in masterful fashion. We felt like we shared each stage of the race with you. It brought back many happy memories of previous Londons. Sadly there seems to be more people collapsing these days than you used to get in the past. Not sure why that is
Thanks for the good review especially coming from two excellent!! RUclipsrs Not sure myself maybe it happens more in this event as they made it more difficult for good-for-age runners to get a place so there's fewer experienced runners maybe
@@inmruns yeah we thought that but anyone running faster than your time is pretty handy. Also the feller who tragically died was running inside 2:50 pace at the time.
@@inmruns I recalled on my run that I was dying, cramping, making faces, texting my friend for advice, etc. Lol! You did well and great video! Thanks for sharing!
What caught me out was the heat/sun, I started a little later than you.. Also set off too fast and paid the price! Disappointed with my performance on the day.
That's a shame was it your first marathon? I wanted to run a 3:05 but unfortunately, I was injured six weeks before the marathon, so I just ran to what I knew I could do but still found the last few miles tough!!
@@inmruns 2nd, run the virtual last year. However for this one I got a spot late on which meant a 6 week training block. Felt good towards the end of the block so thought I had a sub 4hr in me but was clearly wrong lol! Ended up finishing it in 04:54 which was rubbish. But onto the next one with a longer block of training 🤞🏼
@@inmruns 100%, hoping to get a spot in Berlin or Chicago next year, either way will keep my weekly mileage consistent until I know for certain I am doing another marathon. My training wasn't right this year as I wasn't expecting a place to run London, got offered a spot which I wasn't going to turn down but only had the 6 weeks to prep for it.
Good luck!! Berlin is a good flat one so all going well you should definitely get a PB!! Your in a good standing now to get in shape before you start your Marathon training

Fantastic! Well done mate! Made me smile reminiscing the whole race. Can't wait to do it again next year
Thank you glad you enjoyed the video!!
Not long to wait this time as well!!

Great work. Really struggled those last 4 miles too… don’t get easier do they!
Definitely mate!! I was determined not to walk and get the job done. I hope your marathon went ok!!
