not a habs fan but MTL and EDM are the canadian-based teams i like to see do well. MTL is in year 4 of the rebuild. people with fully functioning brains know that full rebuilds can take 6-8 years. MTL may be dogshit now, but they got some exciting young talent, and a good pipeline as well. am excited to see guys like michael hage, ivan demidov and jacob fowler being involved with the canadiens in the future. no shame in getting some more high-numbered lottery picks in the meantime. montreal in 2-3 years from now should be a p-off contender. once you're in the p-off's, anything can happen. i see the glass as half full.

@@carpartherohuh? How can you be rebuilding in a Stanley cup final appearance. Everyone was fired in 2022, assets sold off and Kent and Gorton were hired in 2022. That year Gorton told the fans, just as he did in New York that it’s time to rebuild and we need patience. It is now 2024. We are just now getting into year 3, more so 2.5 of what should be a minimum of 5 years before they see the fruits of their labor. So they easily have another 2 years before they can confidently say they’ll be in the playoffs. Rebuilds take 5+ years at the very least. Especially from a team who has never rebuilt in its entire 100+ year existence
They got unlucky that their #1 pick came in a very weak draft and then they passed on Michkov. That kid would have already made our offense far more potent. Still though, with another top pick and Demidov, Fowler, Hage and Reinbacher in the pipeline among others, it's too early to tell but things are looking good for the future.
Toronto Sports Network 😅 Slaf will be fine, he still finishes with 20 goals 50-60 points Big guys start slow. Wait till Dach and Laine are game shape in a few weeks to a month
I think your right. The last thing the NHL wants to see is 2 Canadian clubs in the final! I don't believe we will ever see that again because that would piss off the American broadcasters, ie., ESPN for example. That is why the officiating in the NHL these days is very inconsistent. When push comes to shove in the playoffs, we will be used to terrible calls and be expected to live with them. There is corruption everywhere today and that includes in sports. Watch and take notice, if 2 Canadian clubs look like they could go to the finals, at least one off them will get knocked off via unfair refereeing.
I really appreciate your efforts! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
They can fire the crew at "Sports Net" any time they want. Play by play guys are okay but the panel. Rogers and hockey just don't go Togher, they just suck!
Have been a Hab fan since the 1960s. Today they are boring. No two ways around it. They are just boring! My Sports Net expires at the end of this month, and I am letting it lapse. Hockey is boring. I blame Bettman for all the rule changes over the past few years. He also is not inclined to fix the officiating so there you go. I am lucky I still know how to read a book.
So when would you consider the re-build a disaster ? 15, 10, 5, 1 year, they are the only team with this perpetual re-build tag with most buying that BS, if i were a Canadians fan i would be pissed right off
perpetual rebuild? must be leaftard math lol. TOR is in year 8 of the matthews/marner era and got 1 p-off round win to show for it. MTL went to the SCF in 2021, so this would be year 4 of the rebuild. you do know that in the 9 years with bergevin as GM, MTL made the p-off's 6x, went to 2 conference finals and on SCF. some perpetual rebuild lol.
I don't see where you get your timeline from - they made a Cup final run in 2021. That will be 4 years by the end of this season. They lost major pieces, and immediately went into rebuild mode. 'Perpetual' feels like a strange choice of words. There are multiple teams that are also in long-term rebuilds.
Canadiens were never in a true "Rebuild" ever. They were either the last playoff seed or either slightly out of the playoffs picture. (Until recent years obviously)
Dach just scored… in basically an empty net. He hadn’t scored in 19 games… We can safely say Chicago was right, the kid is a major bust. Horrible gamble from Kent Hugues.
By that logic Caufield is a "major bust" too because from February to April of 2024 he went 19 games with only 1 goal. There was only about 1 month of playing time between when each guy did it so either: a) Caufield is a "major bust," or b) your argument is illogical. I wonder which it is?
@ Caufield has proven himself to be an elite goal scorer and he has improved his passing and his play without the puck. That post wasn’t about Caufield… Dach, up to now, has proven nothing. He’s a big body with decent hands but zero grit, moody, slow, average shot, defensive hazard and very fragile. Not sure what you tried to prove with that Caufield deal but… you sound a bit confused…

Lane Hutson holds his own defensively and has 19 points in 28 games. He's a defenseman. A rookie defenseman. What more do you want?

does TSN only report on Montreal to invent problems, give bad takes and not bring up the positive?
they would be better if they handnt passed on michkov for reinbacher! that's a sackable offence on its own
