For anyone with the newer version of Anki, when you try to access deck settings, the interface is different from the one you see in Zach's video; hold Shift while you're clicking on the settings gear symbol and continue to hold it while you're clicking on "Options," if you want to see the old interface

I started using anki "today, " spent 6 hrs or so with it - and the struggle to set it 'properly' was real 😂!! (though I know the decks I've created would really help me remember the stuff I'm currently working on) Thanks SO muh for this complete guide. Just exactly what I need now!! 🙏💓

@@ty5731 I'm totally in the same boat :)
But I'm curious, do you ever refer to the stats or settings page after setting to AnKing's / Zach's recommended? I've been using Anki for some time and I've never used those two pages.. am I missing out on something?
I usually just unsuspend relevant decks after watching content (as Zach recommends) and then simply review daily :) Wondering if it's necessary to refer to those settings/stats :)))

I am 33 years old and I am a first-year medical student in Montpellier, France. I was about to give up few weeks ago by being overwhelmed with all this lessons to learn and understand.
I did not know Anki and thanks to you, I am using it all day long and I can already tell that's a very efficient and powerful tool. I have tried both version software and the mobile app and I've already seen a big difference in my understanding and in my memorizing capacities. Thanks a lot Zach.

Im a new user of anki. And it's my first time using active recall method for study because whole my life, I just rely on reading my notes. But thankfully, I realized that I need to improve my study technique and I saw from internet that anki app is good due to their space repetition. Since it is my first time, I still haven't found the best setting for my cards/deck. But since I just started using it yesterday (the reason im watching this youtube today), there are lots of setting that I still dont know how it works and I appreciate this video for answering some of my questions. But a while ago, we had a long quiz, and I prepared a deck yesterday night for that particular long quiz. Our quiz was 1 pm. I started reviewing my cards at 12 noon. But i noticed that it only shows 20 cards so I cannot see the other cards (quiz time is approaching so i have to finish the cards all, and I have 110 cards on that deck). is there a setting to review all cards, especially when the exam or long quiz is just an hours ago? I hope for your response. thank you!

21:45, actually when you hit "again" 6 times on graduated card it's ease doesn't go to 130% because once you hit "again" it will be a lapse and card is in learning phase again, so once you graduate again then if you hit "again" then ease factor will come down to 210, so basically it punishes if you are making mistakes for graduated card

    • @ZachHighley
