      I did a body-off restoration of my Dad’s 1981 Caprice coupe. While I was working on it, everyone thought I was weird, but, I still have the car to this day, and now everyone loves it, and everyone understands why I put the time and money into refurbishing the car!!

      They made the best police cars too. If they would have kept this design I think it would of been more popular than the crown vics.

    My father in law had a 90 Caprice classic landau, gray all around. Had the F41 suspension plus GR70-15 whitewalls. Very nice car, rivaled Cadillac

    Beautiful Chevy Caprice. I agree with everything the guy in the video is talking about! I actually remember when these 1990 Caprice cars were brand new and they were and still are better looking than any new junky bubble cars of today.

      Agreed! There were quite a few more years left in the square body style! 77-90 Caprice is still the best-looking car. Still have my 1981 2-door Caprice, and I have no plans of letting it go anytime soon!!

    I loved these cars until 1991 when they redesigned it and made it look weird looking. The older full size caprices were the best.

    • @Remembering-rq6si
      @Remembering-rq6si 9 лет назад +6

      Amen to that. Nothing but jelly beans on wheels since around 1991 or 92. Cars seem to be getting uglier and uglier with each passing year.

    • @coololds85
      @coololds85 8 лет назад +2

      +Brian E Presley I really want one. My grandpa bought one new but I am not sure what year. It had to be between 1977-1979. He didn't drive the car long and my mom never kept it. If she had we probably would have had the car forever. This was my favorite generation of caprice as well. In 1991 the caprice never looked like a classic again.

    • @coololds85
      @coololds85 8 лет назад +1

      +Remembering 1992 I wish I can afford it, but I am a college student with no money at the moment studying to be an automotive mechanic. Maybe after I graduate I'll buy one. If I had my grandpa's car identification number I can try finding it.

    • @coololds85
      @coololds85 8 лет назад +2

      +Remembering 1992 oh I know how you feel. Where I live everyone does that to older cars. Kids don't keep their parents cars anymore because they don't appreciate the nice car it was. So they sell it on Craigslist and someone who lives in the ghetto looking for a classic car buys it and makes a dub project out of it. But I feel the same as you do. A car should be kept original like the day it was born. My dad still has his 1989 Buick Regal which his dad bought back in the day. It only has 52,000 original miles. And that's the car I am keeping forever. It wasn't garage kept so I will restore it. But If I buy a caprice it's gonna be always maintained and in great condition just like the regal I have.

    haha, wow, that first minute is really something else. It's so corny, and at the same time it's squarely aimed at old people. How many car ads are aimed at old people now? That wagon's cargo area is INCREDIBLE! I don't think even the largest SUV's have that much cargo room these days. Wagons were so much better than SUV's.

    and this is proof that cars have all gone to hell in a handbasket and, have become small and are made of almost all plastic and, when they say they're quality they're usually shit and most the time these days when you buy a car it doesn't last you a week and it's already having problems. They don't make them like they use to

    My grandpa was a caprice hound. He'd see one in a field, remember where it was, go out later and offer the dude cash for it and take it home l. I remember we rolled up $500 in quarters and bought this nasty mint green diesel caprice from some dude. My gramps was a hustler.

    • @TeeroyHammermill
      @TeeroyHammermill 8 лет назад +2

      +DYNO DON The wagon was slow but the sedan was a decent performer for it's time. Wagon 0-60 was 13-14 seconds sedan was 9-10. Believe it or not the sedan had 30 more hp than the wagon and used EFI while the wagon still used a carburetor.
