As a native Taiwanese. Well, you can say there's two China, kinda like North and South Korea. But Taiwanese nowadays prefer Taiwan instead of the Republic of China (R.O.C). R.O.C. was Founded in 1912, which replaces the Qing dynasty. After WWII, the Chinese civil war totally change China The Communist Party of China beat the Nationalist Party (a.k.a KMT) and founded the People's Republic of China(P.R.C.) in 1949, then KMT brings their family and the gold from Shanghai to Taiwan. So that's why the Taiwan government's official name is R.O.C. But Taiwan can't use this name due to the one-China policy. Some of the Taiwanese seak for Independence from ROC, but both PRC and ROC won't happy about it. BTW, Taiwan isn't Thailand, it's a different place.

R.O.C. was Founded in 1912, which replaces the Qing dynasty.
After WWII, the Chinese civil war totally change China
The Communist Party of China beat the Nationalist Party (a.k.a KMT) and founded the People's Republic of China(P.R.C.) in 1949,
then KMT brings their family and the gold from Shanghai to Taiwan.
So that's why the Taiwan government's official name is R.O.C.
But Taiwan can't use this name due to the one-China policy.
Some of the Taiwanese seak for Independence from ROC, but both PRC and ROC won't happy about it.
BTW, Taiwan isn't Thailand, it's a different place.
