You pretty much nailed it. I drove the iPace and liked the way it drives a lot. But - there are so many other things about it, particularly how painfully slow it charges, that made it a no choice for me. The iX3 looks on paper like a not really impressive car. Even the first test drive did not impress me. Only after trying to toss it around the corners I discovered that it’s nice to drive either! It’s not a one-trick pony, that outmasters everyone in some specific area. Instead, it’s just doing _everything_ really, really good 👍
Getting mine in a few weeks (as a company car) and the main reason for having one is that I didn’t have to wait 6 months plus for it. Also, I like the fact it looks like a ‘normal’ car, I don’t want to be making a statement about my green credentials, particularly as those credentials are pretty questionable. Good review👍
Great review. I have ordered one via salary sacrifice and the total cost including insurance etc is less than my current diesel bill. If only the car was not on a uk wide delivery stop meaning it has sat at the dealer for the last 6 weeks with no delivery in sight…
It’s great… I’d choose it over the Jag based on reliability, but I agree that the Jaguars are very attractive (although the closeness with Land Rovers spoils the exclusive feel- there’s only one BMW. I saw the Mustang in the flesh at an event nearby, and I’m surprised at how small it is … don’t think it’s bigger inside than my former A3 TFSI.e.
Why do cars have a compass? My fiesta has one and so does this BMW. It's not like you'd take either orienteering off road. Rant over, but if anyone knows the answer I'd appreciate knowing.
If you're in an unfamiliar town and haven't got your satnav programmed, having a compass can help orient yourself if you know that the motorway, or whatever, is to the north then you can make sure you're heading in the right direction at least
So since you make most your money from 2hand sales ….why don’t you ever talk about re sales of electric cars and what happens to batteries life and disposal etc and dose batteries lose its range etc over the years .
The Jaguar I Pace is well off pace.. Check sales figures and you'll see nobody is buying them.. The BMW infotainment is probably the best on the market.. Unfortunate that they haven't made a ground up EV.. Price high but generally the plush BMW vehicles are never sub £50,000.. Question should be what is the total with the necessary options... I would be waiting for something more revolutionary before signing up to buy the BMW.. I'm sure just around the corner we'll see a large number of higher range (400 genuine mile range) and ground up (design better space /storage) EVs coming on the market...
These ice compromises will keep BMW fans happy for the time being, but once more bespoke evs start appearing they are going to be outclassed and overpriced. They’ve gone from innovators with the i3 to playing catch-up.
@@chillout1109 - yes, they’re on bespoke ev platforms; exactly my point. But this compromise is obsolete on launch; BMW had a lead eight years ago and wasted it.
Can anyone actually afford these cars. I have an EV and the lack of range and rubbish charging infrastructure effectively turns it into a town car. Any distance over 100 miles and it's back to the ice car.
I’ve always wondered how people by cars at £50k and above? Are they genuinely paying like £800 per month for a car?? I make decent money but I wouldn’t want to spend that amount on a car
We can't always review cars that "99% of people" can afford. The world doesn't revolve around people that can't afford expensive cars. People who can afford expensive cars also want to see reviews of cars that they would buy. It's only fair.
I get that this is a very competent EV but the design is not for me. BMW seem to have Jekyll and Hyde styling their cars at the moment as they are either ugly AF or bland and forgettable like this car. I also think the some of the interior is a mess, particularly the center stack layout. All very nicely screwed together, but I want something that looks cool and imaginative and this just doesn’t.
What’s wrong with made in China? That’s a BMW factory. How much better is a BMW made in Mexico or in South Africa?.. People pay £1g for made in China iPhone that they throw away after 3 years…
Plug In Baby 🙌🏻 great taste in music and/or electric car puns

Always great natural presenting and no silly OTT stuff - top job
Much appreciated!

Even though it has been built, I was wondering why our iX3 delivery date kept slipping. Any specific reason for the delivery issues?
Hopefully you got the revised 2022 version 🤞🏾
@@grillpan7594 err ... this thing called COVID?
Would choose over majority of competition TBH...🤔🔥
Why do we only talk about peak charging speed? 150kW matching the E-Tron all the way to 28ish%. By 80% the E-Tron is charging at almost 100kW more.
I enjoyed watching the Video Review.
Thank goodness for the bright interior because the exterior of this thing is terribly dark and drab!
Good review Vicky 👍🏻
Personally I am looking forward to buying the Kia ev 6.
Another impressive review of a very classy EV
200 mile range. Is that good?
Great review

Has the reviewer appeared in channel 4’s Peepshow?
That sound is like a London Underground.Mind the Gap! Nice but I think it looks too similar to the X3, its like they couldn't think of anything

Nice but way out of a lot of people price range 😜
For me it was a no brainier, £64k car but with a deposit contribution from BMW and 2.9% is significantly cheaper than a Tesla etc

I'm guessing you don't know about the BMW iX then. Or the Mercedes EQS. Or the Mercedes EQE. Or the Audi e-tron GT.

People are buying Bugattis and Koenigseggs for £3million and above. Of course there are people out there who can afford these expensive cars.
Oh yay another massively overpriced ev that 99% of people can't afford.

£60g for made in China car.
