    My heart is with Roberto - the supercharged excitement of the most attacking football we have ever seen at the club. Yet, more importantly, my intellect is with Broom/Barber - the slow steady analytical sustainable steps towards our goal. Thank goodness both parties separated respectfully..... and it seems to have been relatively amicable.

      You can’t have a full analysis without considering how special De Zerbi is.. there are a handful of coaches like him, you should give him everything he wants - and giving his intelligence, he was not asking for an alien - and hope he stays for a decade, which would have been realistic.

    The incrementalist mindset of the club is brilliant, i think this is what keeps up from burning up like what happened to Southampton and Leicester. We don't rush the growth of the club taking the steps little by little is great the sustainability of the projects is looking positive.

    Between March and Dec 2023, Brighton scored in a club record 32 consecutive league games. However, in the next 22 games the Seagulls failed to score on 10 occasions. An alarming lack of goals and a mystifying reluctance to shoot from promising positions was not properly addressed by De Zerbi. Wish Roberto well but will always be happy with Bloom and Barber at the helm.

      Well as it stands Francesco Farioli is going to be the next manager. He worked under Roberto at Sassuolo aswell as Benevento for several years. So he knows the style that our players are used to, although his version of it is more defensive and lacking in the attack. This season with OG Nice he's played an attacking 433 formation only conceding 29 goals which is thr least in the French top flight. However they've only scored 40 goals in the whole season.

    The problem is Barber being lead by Bloom's poker mentality. Notwithstanding Bloom funding the stadium and the club, he is, in essence, a gambling man and will always look for a quick return, viz, identifying players to buy cheap and sell them on at a huge profit. Of course Bloom gets a quicker return on his initial investments, but this will come at a cost, and that cost is to remain resolutely mid-table. Unless Barber frees himself from those shackles and spends on recognised talent, the squad will never be strong enough to challenge for higher positions in the table. Barber, by his own admission, is happy for BHA to remain mid table. Is that what BHA fans want? Is that good enough? De Zerbi wanted more, that's why he left. Now what? McKenna? Pochettino?

  • @ehhla3
    @ehhla3 23 дня назад +5

    Roberto De Zerbi asked to bring in players this season because he knew that there would be pressure of matches and that injuries would increase. The Brighton administration supposedly responded to the demands in an exceptional manner because the European participation was an exceptional event, but unfortunately it treated as if the team was only participating in the league...... Repeating Paul Barber: We know where we were...it is a view that has no ambition, and I believe that with this policy of breeding players, the club will continue at the bottom of the standings and may struggle for relegation in the coming years
    if there was a coach other than Roberto De Zerbe and he faced everyone. With these injuries this season, I am sure that the team is now relegated to the Championship

    • @s.aslahahmadfaizi4687
      @s.aslahahmadfaizi4687 23 дня назад +5

      I think the fans forget that Brighton did get a lot of players as replacement. It's just that these players did not perform as well as they probably expected.
      They got joao Pedro to replace undav, which was an amazing addition. They got baleba for caicedo which went horribly, but thankfully Gilmour filled his shoes. They got fati for McAllister which also went horribly, especially with March's injury.
      jp van Hecke stepped up and they got Igor for colwill. Bart for Sanchez. The list goes on. They also got a couple more players in adingra, dahoud and a few others. The amount of transfers were not the problem. It was their quality and the injuries that happened.

      @@s.aslahahmadfaizi4687Question: Is the quality of last season’s players the same as the quality of this particular season’s players in the midfield, on which 70% of De Zerbi’s plan depends...the defensive midfield and the attacking midfield...I just want you to watch the speed of transferring the ball from Moises Caicedo and the speed of transferring the ball to Billy. That would be the owner who took over when they were playing at a rented athletics track and training at Sussex University. Who funded the building of the Amex and world class training facilities in Lancing. Who has overseen the growth of the club from league 1 to qualifying out of the 'group of death' in the Europa league. Look at the problems teams have had 'remembering' that BHAFC is a football club; Everton, Bolton, Portsmouth, Derby, Leeds, Southampton etc. There is 1 owner and he understands trying to compete with state/oligarch funded teams has to be done differently when you have a fraction of the wealth. Quite easy to spend big but spending big has massive risk to it. The club nearly went out of existence 27 years ago...

It sells players constantly, but it has a plan to bring in players... young players that it develops and sells, and players in their mid-twenties who help it compete... No. He brings in older players like James Milner just because it's free. For your information, Atalanta FC has been participating in the European Champions League or the European League for years... and tomorrow it will play the final against Bayern Leverkusen.
