IT MADE WHAT?? Whipple Supercharged 2024 Mustang GT on the dyno!

  • It's what you have all been waiting for (some more patiently than others...)! We put our Whipple Supercharged Mustang GT on the dyno over at Palm Beach Dyno to see what numbers it would make... and it did NOT disappoint!
    This is a 6-speed 2024 Mustang GT using the Whipple calibration on 93 octane. We installed a Stage 2 Whipple Supercharger kit with the Gen 6 3.0L supercharger and are using the 3.75" pulley, which is what comes standard in the kit. We also have a set of Kooks longtube headers, a Corsa HH-pipe, an RXT clutch and a QA1 carbon fiber driveshaft.
    We did run into an issue of hitting a limiter at 7100rpm which is set by Ford on all manual transmission 2024 Mustangs (including the Dark Horse) so we didn't get a full RPM run. This same issue happened with our stock baseline runs. We did do a full pull in 3rd gear, which did not hit a limiter, and it made 781rwhp! On average, the 4th gear numbers were about 20-30hp more than 3rd gear so we wonder if fixing the limiter will present us with an 800+rwhp number. Remember this is on the stock Whipple calibration, stock 3.75" pulley and 93 octane!
    But Whipple is working on a limiter fix! However the numbers so far are more than promising and you would not be hitting 7100rpm in 4th gear while going down the track in this setup.... which means it's time to hit the drag strip!
    Click here to follow the build or for more info on the car:
    www.lethalperf...
    Stay tuned for Part 2 where we'll [hopefully] have a fix for the limiter issue AND we'll test out some smaller pulley sizes and a little ethanol to see what kind of gains we can squeak out of this setup.

    That sounds impressive but I will hold my thoughts until we see track numbers. I just don’t I personally dont trust dyno numbers any more. Too many people in this industry do things to promote a product vs being truthful. A dyno can read whatever you want it to. The track numbers exposes all things good and bad.

    Easy 900 crank HP car. Pretty amazing stuff.
    Car companies adding electric motors to combine power to get to a reliable 1000 crank HP. Whipple and Ford doing it with a five liter and a big twin screw.
    Flawless victory lol

    • @Lethalcamp
      @Lethalcamp  8 месяцев назад +2

      Cletus’s truck is a 2020 which has a lot more capabilities for custom tuning at the moment. That played a big role in the type of power that truck makes. The ability to run a full return style fuel system, larger injectors and E85 are imperative to being able to make and support that type of power. We did the same thing with our 2018 mustang GT which made over 1100rwhp with a pre production Gen 5 3.0l whipple. However on that car custom tuning available as well to where we could run an aftermarket fuel system, injectors and E85.
      This car currently runs the stock fuel pump assembly with one of our fuel pump boosters and the supplied 55lb injectors that come with the Whipple kit. The calibration is done by Whipple and will be 50 state legal once it goes through the approval process.
      I’m sure as time goes on with the s650 platform we will be able to push it harder just like we did with our 2018 car and what Cletus did with his truck.

    As someone who has blown up a coyote because they were on 93 octane, this is stupid. If these numbers were made on 93 octane, it probably wasn't safe to daily drive. Because 93 octane at one gas station, isn't 93 octane at another. And you're just rolling the dice on blowing up your motor. The motor is still 12:1 compression, and engine knock didn't magically vanish in 2024. I have a feeling real world dyno numbers will be much more tame.

    Yeah, put the new whipple on your 2024, and you're going to make 650 to the tire. Why? Because you didn't read the fine print.
    They put Longtubes on it, deleted the cats, and put octane booster in it. That's how they made that number. You're NOT going to make almost 800 wheel on 93 octane on a 12:1 compression motor, or its going to pop.

    • @Lethalcamp
      @Lethalcamp  5 месяцев назад +3

      We've already proven that is not the case. 3 cars with the Whipple kit running the stock manifolds and cats have made from 735-760rwhp with the blower alone on 93 ONLY. All of them using the 3.75" pulley and all done locally on the same dyno at PBD.

I know whine is cool but the reason they don't whine on coyotes is because on pump gas with a coyote it's barely even working 10-12 psi is nothing on one of these whipples. They are high compression engines that Rev high the engine does alot of the work so the blower is doing less work and it's the most efficient design they make = less whine.

    I haven't seen anyone saying you need dual TB to make power. What i've been saying is whipple took the cheaper/easier way out. It will be interesting to see if VMP can make the dual throttle bodies work with a PD blower. Almost 800whp is impressive though and no, it doesn't look that bad. Quick thought about your max engine speed limit. I think you are hitting the vehicle speed limiter in 4th gear, I think you have a car without a performance pack which is limited to 145mph. The larger wheels/tires on the car are probably the reason. To do a pull in 4th I'd either reset the tire size in the BCM so it thinks the vehicle is traveling slower than it is or put the factory wheels/tires back on for the dyno work.

    • @Lethalcamp
      @Lethalcamp  8 месяцев назад

      Never really said we don’t need tuning shops as that’s certainly not the case. Whipple however did an amazing job with this kit and it’s calibration. It’s their most advanced calibration they’ve ever made and it took a ton of testing and expertise for that to happen. If you’ve followed the build you’ll see that we do have headers and exhaust on the car. So for you to make similar power as we did you would need those in addition to just the kit to replicate these numbers.
      Going forward hopefully we have the ability to tune them for things such as aftermarket fuel systems and injectors so we can run e85 as that’s where the true potential of this kit will shine.

Sadly here in Europe due to emissions the S650 makes significantly less power and I doubt that a Whipple conversion can be done in a legal way in Germany or Austria (they confiscate your car here).
