Although the instructor's accent is strong, I can confirm that that all of the sentences and words used in this video are correct English. Mostly, I came to watch this video in order to confirm that I understand what the word "Imperative" means. People in America do not often used the word "imperative", unless they are grammarians or English teachers. I am writing a brief explanation about how to translate English into computer code. Most computer code uses imperative verbs. For example, when writing computer code, you can write "fish.swim()" which causes the fish to swim. In most computer language, you cannot write down facts. You cannot write "My father took me swimming and saw a fish swimming - so-close - that I could almost touch it. But, the fish did not bite the hook. The strings of text "talk", "stand", "smoke", "book", "read", "don't", et cetera are all very commonly used in the United States. The word "imperative" is unusual, and I worried that I had forgotten the meaning of the word "imperative". People must use imperative verbs with computers when writing code. You cannot teach an older computer system the truth about somthing when writing code, you can only tell it what to do, like it is a robot who is obedient to your commands. When writing in the python programming language, there are no statements about what happened in the past, or what will happen in the future. The only statements are what we want the computer to do right now, in the present moment.
Imperative is different from suggestion. When someone suggests something for you, you have the choice to either accept or refuse it. But when it is an imperative, you have no choice and you must do what you are asked for.
the lesson is very good but the accent is annoying when you are trying to learn something and then you also have to try and figure out what she is saying
The only way I could do that was if you had to do a lot more work and then you would be done by yourself so you would be fine and then I could just go back and get it and you can just do whatever I have a lot more money to pay it out and I could just pay you for the money I I have a little more than I I can pay for the car I don’t know if I have a lot more than I need but if I have a lot more I could use it and then you can just do whatever I I have a a lot of money to pay for it and I can do it so I thank you so much
