Last year I worked on a 4 part workshop with Strathmore on how to draw realistically with charcoal. I thought I would upload them on my channel as well, to help those of you that are interested in learning to draw with charcoal. This is part 1 in the series and the other 3 parts will be uploaded over the next week 🥰💕
I am an old timer❤ (92) and l go by hand impression and your hands , top of the list 🌹 , nails short , clean well maintained and just 1 ring each hand, perfecto! And I love how you explain what to do 👍👍👍👍👍
Great timing! I've just rediscovered my charcoals and my mum is about to rescue 2 dogs and I wanted to give her a drawing of them. Thanks for this! I've learned new stuff already.
I desperately needed this! I have so much charcoal and wasn’t sure on how to use it as it smudges. Thank you so much for making something like this. This will really help me improve my skills!
Not only a great artist and teacher but very inspiring as well! Just finished my first Charcoal portrait after watching the video “best motivational tips for artists” thanks for sharing your gift and wisdom!
I’ve dabbled I’m realistic charcoal but my drawings were always lacking that professional looking pop. This video has real opened up a new world for me thank you so much!!!
I just love your voice. And even though the videos you upload here on YT are not full tutorials, I still learn a lot from them because your lessons are so precise and easy to understand. Thank you for helping me accomplish my plates in scool 😍
I started drawing for people a couple of years ago It was your videos that helped me lots so thanks for that I:) I think your one of the best artists on Facebook :) 👍👍👍👍
@@chrys9256 I know but all these youtubers keep flexin on me with white gel pens and it makes their drawings look really good, and White charcoal is all I have

@@crypticsound8D bruh, there's this thing on the internet called Amazon. Not the rainforest, but a place where you can buy tons of supplies from online. 😊
FINALLY someone has taught how to properly use a charcoal stick! I’ve never liked them because I never knew how to use them😂😂 I have a small graveyard of them in a tin. Now I know there is a method to the madness... thanks kirsty
I'm calling 911 if this channel doesn't hit 1 million subs soon and when it does create something special I mean every work you create is special the only thing that would be special enough is self potriat without looking in the mirror
In my high school art class we were doing figure drawing, and the paper we had to work with Had. No. Tooth. It was so smooth that none of the charcoal stuck to the paper, and it was so hard to make any details. We also only had school paper towels for blending and the charcoal we worked with wasn’t in pencil form, but in shorts sticks. It was a fun assignment but also really frustrating.
It's awesome to see a realistic drawing video... I draw with graphite on my RUclips channel and this charcoal video helps me out since I've always wanted to study this new medium! ☺️🙌🙌🙌
I'm so happy that I have all of these materials😁😁 Though the only different thing is I use graphite for my realistic drawings... I post them on my RUclips channel😂
The line thing ! When the charcoal or the pastel makes this ugly line that you definitely don't want, it happened to me all the time ! Thank you so much for the tip on how to avoid it !
My charcoal pencils are graded by soft , neutral and hard. They are artist quality according to the box . And they were really cheap . Like 55 rupees . Aka under a dollar . But there were literally 3 pencils . So . Idk . I mean stuff are cheaper in India than US .
Are there courses that are for beginner drawing? I have always had the desire to learn to draw and to water color but life has always gotten in the way. I have been searching for a learn at my pace way to learn because my available hours don’t correspond to normal life.
Great timing! I bought some charcoal a couple of weeks a go to give it a try. Great starting tips already in this video! Thanks! Looking forwards to the next ones
I use boahong water colour blocks for my diffrent art mediums. They are 300gsm paper blocks and i buy them on alliexpress for 9 euro,s and 3 cent. 😁😊🖐🏾👍🏾
As if I didn't have enough art stuff, I found a charcoal pencil set that a friend gave me. I don't know if I'll use them, but at least your video gives me info on how to use them if do. PS My set is by Faber-Castell.
You obviously didn't even watch the video. I went looking for a tutorial for how to use what I had access to, and I thought this was very helpful. People need to know what supplies to use, and any drawing book I have looked at has a list. This is actually a very cost-effective one. You can get them very easily and for not much money.

White charcoal isn't meant to be used on white paper. It shows up great on tinted pastel paper.
