Actually, the answer is much more simpler, as shown in the video Sure you can take angle measurements, abuse the land advantages or just make the enemy misfire, but the real answer is pretty obvious. If you pay close attention, the game shows if you play as the Tier 4 AMX 40 duck, which is confirmed to be outfitted with Frenchonium, the strongest element known to man, it will block shots from Tier 8's, making it invincible to Tiers 5-8, along with it being able to penetrate and KILL a Tier 8 tank. Just get the AMX and watch the shots bounce like basketballs.
You dont block dmg in this game because gold ammo is for most plebs standart ammo now. I receive 80% of the time gold ammo. back in days it was 80% standart ammo and 20% gold. But wg said gold ammo is not balancable atm^^

It really depends on the tank. I can tell you for sure that it's more than possible to angle against premium shells in tanks like IS-3, Defender, IS-7, IS-4, Maus, etc. It's just that average players are oblivious about sites like tanks.gg where they can see the numbers and when they do get hit by gold shells they tend to rage rather than find a solution.
It depends of the round fired at you. Angling armor against APCR is more effective due to low shell normalization and riccochet angle. HEAT can be absorbed easily if you know how they work, quite the same as HE although these doesn't depends on the incident angle
Look up Panzerkampfwagen IX. Not really a real tank (Was a propaganda drawing to scare the Allies), but I have no doubt it was inspired by the AMX 40 design...
Tanks with big guns, wide aiming arc, and high elevation/depression for the gun can block damage with the gun if its long enough, wide enough, and if the enemy is stupid enough

that is useful as long as the enemy isn't shooting gold ammunition. At tier 8 to 10 battle seems to be loaded by default by 33% of the players, another 33% load it when they see a more heavily armored vehicle and the final 33% load it after the first shot didn't the penetrate the armor. Only 1% seem to keep shooting normal ammunition and try shooting on weakspots and accept that not every shot will deal damage

Thanks for making this video now I can block damage with the O-I exp easily
that is useful as long as the enemy isn't shooting gold ammunition.
At tier 8 to 10 battle seems to be loaded by default by 33% of the players, another 33% load it when they see a more heavily armored vehicle and the final 33% load it after the first shot didn't the penetrate the armor. Only 1% seem to keep shooting normal ammunition and try shooting on weakspots and accept that not every shot will deal damage
