@@nicksreviewsmiami Hi Nick and Capt OOTR, Sionyx is not IR (infrared). It is just a light-enhancing device, and does not work where there is not ambient light. IR works even if you are in a totally pitch-black, zero-light environment. IR reads/sees surface temperature. Since everything is/has a different surface temperature, the IR 'imager' (it is not really a 'camera') shows an image, as sharp as if looking at the same item in daylight. True IR is projected in black and white. Most IR imagers can colorize the image, but truth be known, it is better in the black and white image. A good IR imager's image is precise. Sionyx is useless in a no-light environment. True IR is measuring surface-temperature and projecting it as in image. In and around a big city where there is a lot of ambient light, the Sionyx can be useful. For me, running down the Pungo River, and/or crossing the Pamlico Sound at night, the Sionyx is useless.
@@OutOnTheReef i just saw your video explain the reason why you give the name "croked"( think is way to write } well i made my research about your boat fabricant. I really like your boat especially the updates you made by yourself. Give you 5 stars for it. One thing I can't understand is why the company you buy the boat don't came out with a satisfaction solution. Is a big mistake they made. Is not acceptable. But i respect your decision. My boat is old....20 y old. I made some beneficions. And right know i m working with the technician who made it....to resolve some issues I find it. And he said Ok . We will resolve it. I m talking about the deck. He will put a new deck 2 cms hihgter. And inside the pilot house he will put new floor and reinforce it and same with port side and starboard.
My brother I have the same radar you have. Going down to Bimini in June. Having a little trouble with settings, not sure what settings to put on. Can you tell me what settings you have your radar on so I could see if it helps the way I see mine.
Awesome Captain hopefully I'll see you out there in the water I don't remember my settings I went once and there but I did not do hardly any adjustments and it works perfect the only thing you can add us is the how much you want to scan I believe I really don't remember it was about a year ago that I did that
Thank you my brother. If possible and you remember can you take a picture of the radar screen to see where the settings are at. This would really help me set mine. I would really appreciate it. Have a bless night.
Thanks for taking us along Captain. Too bad about the drone but as they say "their country, their rules". No doubt a few drone flyers got too aggressive, invaded people's privacy and peacefulness so some regulations had to be legislated. I hope to make it across sometime in the next 6 months and hope the water is as smooth and as glassy as on your trip.
Hello captain. Deep blue water lots of ledges on the way there, fast speed trolling for wahoo, bull dolphins (dorado) maybe? Also have you ever try to gig or spear for flounder? seems like a good area for some night action there. Thank you for the video. That areal shot got me thinking tho. You may have a spare pocket drone, lol. shhhhh...
Did you have another option other then leaving you're drone because that is a expensive peace of equipment to leave behind, could you not assure them you would not fly it during your stay? if not how did they assure you you're drone would be there when you got there on Friday?
they are good on that cap. they gave me a receipt that proof they have my drone, and they told me if i kept my drone on my boat even if i don't fly it , if they come to my boat and do a search i can loose the drone and be fined , that is why i left it behind cap.

yes i have a/c and generator and the engine run perfect with the right pitch propeller 👍
Hello...Great video! My wife and I are planning the same trip from The Keys to Bimini. Good info about the drone. I have a DJI as well and would not want it to be "Misplaced" by customs. I like that you let your videos do the talking when it comes to the beautiful water and scenery. Too many videos are ruined by loud background music. I have Liked and Subscribed...
Awesome Captain thank you for subscribing and being part of my channel and I love the Florida Keys last year I went twice and this year I'm planning to go again I will use the waterways responsibly captain.
And thank you for the positive feedback and hopefully one day I'll see you out there in the water captain navigate safe
Let me know when....
Good to see you back in the Bahamas man...The drone thing is really terrible-you create such excellent footage with that thing-it’s a shame they are so unnecessarily strict with having it in your possession.stay safe out there Captain👊🏻
Thanks 👍John and you are right cap. thanks for watching
El amor que sientes por Bimini supera todos los obstáculos y dificultades que bueno 👍saludos y mucha suerte 💪👍
muchas gracias capitan y asi es estoy en casa😁👍 saludos..
Safe travels Captain!!
Thank you for watching captain
Amazing content! Living my dream dude 🤟
thanks buddy it took me a long time to do this , thanks for watching cap.
i will love to buy a boat like yours
They only Built one Crooked PilotHouse but they have other kinds out there captain
If flir ever gets cheaper thats my goto for night travel and a radar. Hopefully in when im older tech eill be the best and hopefully prices go down
Agree! I hope that will be my next boat-toy! I used Flir and MIT infrared imagers in my career; great tools!
Yes all this equipment are a little expensive especially when you used to service
@@andrewfyakim525 yes the flir camera system is awesome is just very expensive
Look into Sionyx Cameras!
Safe travels Capt!
thanks cap😁👍thanks for watching
how is your recovery
I’ve been wanting to take my boat from Miami to Bimini but the pandemic has been 👎... hopefully I’ll do the trip in the up coming months
you will love it cap .hope you have a great trip.
Let me know when....
Always tie off when outside and soloing!!!
I have a wireless kill switch on my vest that shuts off the engine if I fall overboard
Nice ride Cap👍💪
Thanks Captain for watching
Awesome Captain hopefully I'll see you out there in the water I don't remember my settings I went once and there but I did not do hardly any adjustments and it works perfect the only thing you can add us is the how much you want to scan I believe I really don't remember it was about a year ago that I did that
Nice to hear from you cap👍
Thank you my brother. If possible and you remember can you take a picture of the radar screen to see where the settings are at. This would really help me set mine. I would really appreciate it.
Have a bless night.
@@SDJ7044 i will go later to the boat tonight before my live broadcast and i will type you here the settings cap👍
@@OutOnTheReef thank you. God bless.
Thanks for taking us along Captain. Too bad about the drone but as they say "their country, their rules". No doubt a few drone flyers got too aggressive, invaded people's privacy and peacefulness so some regulations had to be legislated. I hope to make it across sometime in the next 6 months and hope the water is as smooth and as glassy as on your trip.
thanks Bob and i hope you can visit this beautiful place but before you go visit bahamas.com for more details and regulation on Covid 19 cap
That beautiful water Capt....que lindo?
The best! waters i have seen , thanks for watching
You may have a spare pocket drone, lol. shhhhh...
Where you tied up your dingy is that a hull laying on the bottom?
yes is a sunken boat looks like and is dangerous at low tied
Did you have another option other then leaving you're drone because that is a expensive peace of equipment to leave behind, could you not assure them you would not fly it during your stay? if not how did they assure you you're drone would be there when you got there on Friday?
they are good on that cap. they gave me a receipt that proof they have my drone, and they told me if i kept my drone on my boat even if i don't fly it , if they come to my boat and do a search i can loose the drone and be fined , that is why i left it behind cap.
@@OutOnTheReef Wow I feel like Bimini has been taking over by the CCP and has now imposed these crazy regulations. Thanks for going thur all of this to bring us great content cause I would can not pull this off especially with small children involved
@@MiamiLiving305 I agree in anytime Captain I try to share all my good and bad to bring you guys the real information.
@@OutOnTheReef One of the best on this platform doing so I might add!
@@MiamiLiving305 you're awesome buddy thank you so much for your awesome support and have a beautiful day
How about if you preregister the drone 5 days before arrival? Will they allow that?
Yes if you register it and you bring your certification with you you shouldn't have a problem you just got to make sure to tell them where you going to be flying the Drone
Thanks for the video Capt. I'm in Tennessee with 5 inches of snow on the ground. Sure wish I was there. Maybe you will get some lobsters while there. Be safe Capt.
wow jim thats alot of snow ,i was by Tennessee about a month ago, in Maggie Valley, thanks for watching
Have fun stay safe
thanks cap.😁👍
Would like to know more about the Inflatable boat....How/where do you store it? How long did it take to fill it up?
I’d like to know too!
i placed the link in the description below cap and it took less the 6 minutes with a battery pump
Just watched your video. Man, I know you were exhausted after all that traveling and then all the Bahamas Custom's stuff. Hopefully you got yourself a nice nap at the end of this video to recharge your batteries
I was and i went to sleep at 12 midnight so that was 24hrs without sleep, wow but now i feel better cap. thanks
Great weather...I looked at the temperature down in Miami today at 82. The rest of the country is covered in snow. Wanted to ask the auto pilot do you manually set the rpm with the stick for your cruising speed?
no cap.the rpm are control only by the shifter not the autopilot cap
@@OutOnTheReef Thanks . That is what I meant that you set the rpm with the stick (shifter). I asked because I seen some video they had to set it to WOT when using the autoP and it was controlled by the system some how. If i find I will share unless you know what I am talking about.
@@darrisb1727 never heard of it I don't have an idea on it captain but sounds interesting
Hey Cap, I would love to do this one day. I don't think I would try it in my 17' Whaler tho, but i do see people do it on waverunners! go figure.
I know a guy that did it on a 17 bostom whaler and he was about 65 years old with a 115hp mercury
@@OutOnTheReef I’d consider it but with another partner going with. What’s a shark shield?
@@gregh5787 it shocks sharks wen they get close to you i placed the link in the description below if you want more details cap. I dont go in the water without it👍
Glad you got over to the bahamas again! The weather on the east coast has been horrible for months.
yes i agree but the weather channel was predicting bad weather wen i made the crossing but they ware wrong
Didn’t see it below but what boat is that. Like this !
this a Crooked Pilothouse only one build like this cap
At what time is your live broadcast?
is at 8;00Pm cap. hope you can visit👍👍
If they confiscated the drone, how’d you get the aerial shot on the boat at honeymoon harbor? Did you bring a Mavic Mini?
that was last trip drone footage, if you look the minn kota trolling motor is not installed yet
Glad I found your channel searching for boat maintenance. I've wanted to make the trip from FL to the bahamas but haven't got the nerve to do it. Is there any websites you use to stay up to date on travel restrictions/ requirements when entering the bahamas by boat? Would make a cool video to see all the prep/ provisions that you recommend for a trip like this.
i usually go to Bahamas.com for the latest updates specially Covid 19 regulations
Cool trip. Just wondering, do you think you had the outboard trimmed up too much? it looked like you were doing a lot of porpoising especially given the water was so smooth on your way out.
yes i dis have it high because my fuel economy goes up from 2.8 to 3.1 just by doing that in this great conditions, and great observation cap.
