I’ve had my pair of Hanwag Alaska GTX now for 7 years and done countless Kms in them. Unbelievably comfortable boots that have never failed me. Highly recommend this brand to anyone!
How? Ive not even had mine a full year, ive kept them spotlessly clean and waxed them and the leather has disintegrated where the Rand meets it, the Boots look perfect apart from the leather splitting all around them
Will be using my Han Wags for Kilimanjaro and Mount Everest base camp. I chose Han Wag because of the shoe lace clamping, really good grip and it just felt premium. I like to have things last so having a resoulable sole is awesome!
Ich wußte nie, wie man das Oberteil des Alaskas gefertigt hat....jetzt habe ich eine präzise Vorstellung bekommen. Danke für dieses informative Video, es ist der Knall im All! 👍😁
I am always searching a lot before I make a buy for the mountains because I hate regretting my buy. So after lot o research a ended up buying the hanwag ancash 2. I was between these and the crispi Nevada but hanwag felt so much better for my feet. Also I liked the way they looked more. I couldn’t be more happy with my buy. They are performing as I expected and more. I can say the best boots I ever had.
I wear now a Woodland trekking boots, next will be Hanwag. I like to wear be it clothes or shoes for its quality and not fashion. I would a pant or a shirt till it wears out. Good quality ones last for 3 years even with regular use. The idea of Hanwag goes well with mine.
You should do the Alaska winter model in 'wide' fit too.! The one you manufacture in regular fit is unwearable for me. It is much too narrow in the toe box.
iv tested boots for decades .scarpa meindle lowa hanwag .iv had good and bad , lowa and certain hanwag models , most have great tough thich high uppers .lowa combat meindl performance combat gtx(one if my favourites) and the hanwag trapper top . after wearing these for a full year " nothing else" i realised sole wise every other boot manufacturer was playing at it , the soles are super aggressive and grip where all other boots give in and plant you on your ass , the uppers are lushly padded like the meindl performance combat gtx, and other top end high leg boots . but trapper tops are THE winter boots to get lost in ,absolutely bar none ! i can confidently say that after surviving months in the scottish highlands ( sutherland ) in the depths of winter , i hammer boots and torture them where others blow smoke up company's asses after having boots lasted 5 years of dog walking on local fields ,, im on for my fourth or fifth pair, i know what lets an otherwise good boot down its usually always the sole , some hanwag tetra's the top of the leather toe box collapse ( thin crappy leather ) seems like crumpled canvass than leather , but the trapper tops soldier on ! along with the meindl performance combat gtx , id mention lowa combat gtx but the soles are so shallow 5mm isnt a match for their rugged uppers , seems a shame to make a such a rugged upper boot with a sole i can wear down in 7 months or sooner , (i have to wear rugged high leg boots having my ankle bolted together to give me a pendulum type stride with a rolling sole feels almost normal again ) so finding a good lasting boot to live in is a quest for me , £350 for the hanwag trapper tops is bang on i get almost 2 and 1/2years before the soles look like new lowa's thats a lot of heavy backpacking , (winter backpacking and camping in the highlands isnt for the lightweight boys) your boots are your foundations !
Well whether it’s Hanwag, Meindl or any other boot, after 1 or two years my cemented sole always starts coming off and separating into different pieces, no matter how well I look after them. So for £150 -£200 I would not say this is good value
There is no boot, that will not seperate. Salomons, Meindl any brand. The way these boots eperate, ir's easy to reglue them. Choosing the right glue and doing it properly, can result to a decade or even more in some cases, boot. No matter if this happens with any brand, you still get what you pay for. Cheaper Chinese made boots, can't compare to a European made boot...not even close to the quality. Almost all the people I know, including me, had really bad experience with cheap shoes. I had to visit a doctor, a couple of times, only to find out, that it was my choice of cheap boots and shoes, that had done that damage to my feet. I couldn't walk, I coudn't work to feed my family. So...by once, cry once! Happy new year!!
you do realize most models the mentioned brands you can resend and they will resole and polish the boot up for a fee, but lesser then for a brand new boot, and so keeping your well worn in accustomed boot. Im doing 12 years now like this with my oldest Hanwag ( 2 times resoling) also what the other poster already said, any sole will wear down, its actually awesome you can replace it, its just the same principle like you change your car or bike tires
LOLZ hehe. “Imagine” defending a company that sells $300 on RUclips. They’ve really got you with the marketing though if you think paying half the price of the boot to send it back to be resoled after a couple of years is “good value”
@@theewhaler like i mentioned, i have my oldest pair of hanwags already 12 years, they costed me 150€, i did a resole of 75€ each i believe. so thats 300€ spent for having some of the best footwear on my feet for over a decade. calculating its at the cost of around 2€ a month....for 12 years! my uppers are still great as i took well care of it, so with more years that price will only drop.say marketing all you want, but that's just an insanely well great piece of business for a customer. thats not a good value, thats an amazing value
Quality is good, design is bad these days. This new model of Tatra II is really downgrade from the older Tatra II. Taking out the pair of locking hooks was really bad move and made these boots just plain ordinary, you just cant get perfect adjustment without those.

Hi, do you mean the one in the end? :) That is our Alaska GTX: www.hanwag.com/hanwag-mens-alaska-gtx-erdebrown-h2303/?sku=4047761222650
Cemented construction is traditional now? You already have a traditional form construction: Zwiegenäht....
