I'm thinking about purchasing a full suspension bike and came across this video. Thank you again for opening my eyes for the need for total head protection. Didn't know this was an available option for Mountain Bikes.
I think spending very little on a full face helmet is a bad idea. the reason you are buying a full face is for extra protection so why buy cheap, less protective helmets. I recon spending a little extra on a DH certified full face, it will have better materials, be safer and will be more comfortable, besides you can't put a price on your life
Adam i agree with this, i personally dont buy full face helmets if they arent downhill certified, although i know some people who ride xc and want more protectio. So the sanction is a good chpice for them.
"You can't put a price on your life" is a strange statement. You could say the same about MIPS then. If you haven't got the cash or don't need MIPS, getting a FFH is certainly better than not getting one even without DH certifications. Same with stepping up to MIPS helmets, they get a lot more expensive. It is always a matter of balancing cost, comfort and safety. You are effectively saying that one of those parts of the equation doesn't matter, and I completely disagree. I also just want to say that of the 5 helmets, the T3, IDP and 661 are the same helmet with different paint. And the padding CAN be removed, at least it can on my 661. It just takes some care and you need to click off the chin part in a particular way.
The Urge, 7DIP and the 661 are all the same helmet that are branded differently. I have the 661 lid and had an O’Neal which was exactly the same. Each brand puts there own little twist in it, the peak and the chin restraints for example.
How is the ventilation on the Bell Sanction? It doesn't look too well vented, but reviews seem to say it's okay? I'm after a lightweight ff for my young son but we live in a hot area so airflow is a must for a young kid especially. The only full face I've ever ridden in is a $250 Fox Pro Frame and that felt like I had my own personal air conditioned on my face and scalp!
A lot of the cheaper helmets use the same shell like that urge, 661 comp, oneal, 7idp, demon united etc. I have had the 661 comp and my brother had an oneal helmet that looked the similar. Only the paint job and visor are different. Its hard to compare them when they are essentially the same helmet

What about the bell transfer 9? €105 on amazon. Really comfortable, Sturdy, Gopro mount included, Emergency eject bladder compatible, Neck brace compatible, Integrated speaker system. Seams like a good deal to me.
@@felixjamesonevans6428 the eject bladder is for paramedics to remove the helmet without causing further injury and the speaker system is basically just built in earbuds.

I think they're heavier and not as well vented because it assumes you're blasting through the air by engine power, not pedalling slowly up a steep hill sweating and praying for air flow :-)
I made the mistake of wearing a XC helmet going on an enduro run and my front shock locked and the front brake locked so I went OTB and I wish I would've had the chin bar. Biggest mistake of my life.
Just think of this if you are looking to buy one of these. Would you spend less money on a helmet and spend more money in the hospital, or would you spend more money on a helmet and have a less chance of ending up in the hospital
+I love biking i dunno, usually around 15mph on that trail, its a pretty slow trail so i dont ride it very often as its real wakward on dh bikes and os better suited to trail bikes
Wide angle camera lens is best for capturing peripheral vision, therefore showing actual speed. I've done some scary fast downhill that I filmed with my iPhone with normal camera lens... totally didn't do it justice. The video was kinda boring and slow visually because the view was too straight fwd. like when you look up at an airplane and it appears to be moving slow....

The picture is a bit deceiving - there is WAY less space in the center of the frame than it shows. The suspension connection takes up the entire thing. So I needed to attach my battery on the bottom of the frame and my controller on the top. Instructions for assembly were lacking but honestly it wasn't too hard to figure out even though I have very little bike knowledge. Watched some youtube videos on adjusting the disk brakes but that was it. Still, I am loving it and very happy with the purchase.
