Ford Fusion - RADIO REMOVAL / REPLACEMENT (2010 - 2012)

Step-by-step guide on how to replace / remove / install factory stereo on Ford Fusion sedan ( 2010 | 2011 | 2012 | SE | SEL | LIMITED | AWD).
Removing the factory radio on a Fusion is not too hard. You will need a ratchet with 7mm and 8mm sockets and a good pry tool.
Start by removing two 8mm bolts holding the top storage compartment. Now pop out the compartment just enough to access the top two main dashboard trim mounting bolts. Remove the bolts (both 7mm). Then pop out chrome trim piece around the shifter and then pop out plastic pieces around the shifter and around the power outlet. Pop out main dashboard bezel surrounding the radio and then remove four 7mm screws holding the radio in place. Pull out the radio and disconnect all electrical connections in the back and the radio antenna.
If you are replacing the radio with another factory radio make sure to get the radio code. If you don't have it your new radio might be locked up and you will have to get the code from the Ford dealer.
If you are replacing factory stereo with aftermarket radio then you will need a proper wiring harness and a Ford Fusion radio kit which will replace the current dashboard.
