- Ingredients:
Chickpeas(chole/kabuli chana)-250 gms
(Soak it in normal water for 7-8 hours or overnight)
Chopped onion-4(medium)
Chopped tomato-2(large)
Chopped ginger-2 inch
Garlic cloves(peeled)-10 to12
Whole garam masala
(Bay leaves, black cardamom, green cardamom,
cinnamon, mace(javitri)
Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder-1 to 1.5 tsp
Cumin powder-1/2 tsp
Coriander powder-1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder-1/2 tsp
Salt to taste or 1.5 tsp
Chole masala(any brand)-1.5 tsp
Cooking oil-5 tbsp
Coriander leaves-1/3 cup

I do 30 minutes to make sure the chickpeas are nice and soft. It takes 20 minutes for my onion paste to look like Kabita's does after 2 minutes. Does Indian medium flame mean American high heat?
I tried this recipe and it turned out to be great.
I did 3 changes-
1. Substituted the chana masala with meat masala.
2. Used ghee instead of oil.
3. Added garam masala and kaali mirch powder along with the mentioned spices while making the masala.
Sounds great :)

Hello Kabita 😊 today is the third time I made this dish and it seems to be even more tasty than before 😃😁👌 I don't have access to any grinding equipment so i just use finely chopped onions and tomatoes and readymade ginger n garlic paste but it still turned out yumm! Turned out great, thanks so much for a restaurant level recipe! My three notes that might help those making this: A) make sure your spices are as fresh as possible B) Be generous with your spices! I just about doubled the amount of spices added, except for chilli powder; and C) add an amount of water that feels right to you before pressure cooking (I ended up adding half a cup as 1.5 was way too much!)
