Have you considered doing an Art of Cloud 2? Your more recent character guides go over the character's neutral and strategy and how those moves play a part in their "roadmap to victory" or their objective(s). I think Cloud should be given this chance just like with your 3 Art of Link videos
5 years late but I agree. This is just a combo video. It doesn't go over any of Cloud's fundamentals, like his shield pressure, or anti-airing, or just anything. He didn't cover how to PLAY Cloud, just his combos :(
The way you explain things makes it easy to understand what to do. You always pick good, appropriately themed music for each video. Thank you for all your uploads- I was struggling with a lot of characters before seeing your video- and while I'm a long way from perfecting my game with any of them, I am having a much easier time against the Lvl 9 cpu opponents already. I think everyone new to smash4 who wants to get good should watch your Ike video, as it exemplifies the basics about reach and observation- both you and your opponent. Once these basics are covered, it is possible to attain great results with any character! Thank you so much!

So, let me get this straight: Cloud, who has one of the longest ranges in the game, hits(both numerical and knockback) like a truck, has a decent projectile and has a gimick that eliminates one of his weaknesses and its basically lucarios aura 2.0. is allowed to have auto cancels in his attacks. Yet some characters that do not have even half of what i said are left in the dust(im looking at you lucina and marth)?. Nice balance there Sakurai.
roy is REALLY not just a worse marth, if he's used right he's faster and has better combos and requires less precision to do more damage. I mean, marth can fuck some shit up but I've seen some beautiful roy play but how you described him is how I felt about him in melee.
Back when this came out, it helped me *immensely* with my Cloud game. Beforehand I got my ass handed to me all the time... EVERY CLOUD'S MAIN LISTEN TO ME i found a solution for the probleme of get grabed off stage and grab release with no jump left : after the grab release hold towards the stage let the joystick do a neutral B go towards the stage again and up B (this tech doesn't work if your oppement hit you after the grab release) and thank you izaw this video realy help me to play cloud
I'm not sure but i think in this situation up B will catch the ledge but don't spam it or you will die. and in this situation hope the stage is like dunk hunt stage or vallée gérudo(vf), on the 3ds version, to perform a wall jump
Five-T I'm 100% sure that you could wall jump and up-b, but what if there is no wall? Tried to use neutral B, to get back under but didn't get enough height and if I use Up-B I don't reach the legde. (Could be me being bad, but honestly don't know, don't have a friend to practice with so can't test it either)

9:08 down throw to turn around jabs are guaranteed from abt 0-10% At higher percents (30-60%), down throw to nair is guaranteed with limit. Check out my smash corner's video.
One thing I noticed about Clouds "Finishing Touch" move is that it can be reflected back at Cloud. I was playing with Dark Pit and happened to KO Cloud with his own Finishing Touch with Dark Pitt's Reflect Barrier. Thought I'd share that incase if anyone didn't know. It's possible to counter, but tricky in timing it.
there is a sweetspot or a way to shorten the window to get hit for cloud with his recovery, you have perfectly measure his recovery so at the top of it he grabs the ledge
It's okay if you're playing casually, but you need to be more thick skinned to be able to go far. I overcame my demon (Rosalina) by learning the matchup.

How did he do the ledge grab into the air dodge land thing at 5:44 I understand that you let go then jump then air dodge holding the direction of the stage but i just cant pull it off.
My Smash Corner found that at about 0% to 10% Cloud has a guaranteed down throw to turn around jab depending on weight if you input the turn around jab immediately after the throw. This works best on characters who don't have counter specials (Marth, Shulk, etc).
There's so much more I'd like to know about Cloud though! What is his objective, and how do his moves help him achieve it? What are some of the best edge guarding methods? What part of the sword spikes on fairs?

At 6:34, you can see Cloud actually grabbing onto the ledge backwards since Mario's cape flipped him. I already knew about this (though I don't really know exactly how it happens), but I'm wondering if anyone else noticed, lol.
All right, so I attempted to try these tricks myself, and so far, the only one I can consistently do is autocancelling Dair. IF it is not too much trouble, could you possibly give a detailed tutorial on Frame Cancelling. I've seen the Smashboards thread on people experimenting, and some have found setups with Falcon's Knee, and Ganon's stomp. not everyone can figure out the timing for this, and without some help, all it's going to be is just some flashy tricks... at least having a starting point in general, using more than just Falco as examples, can get people actually using this in serious competition.
+Barry Bones Learn about Cloud's noticeable weaknesses and practice with your main instead of complaining. If you're looking for a truly broken character, look no further than Brawl Meta Knight.
Not sure if this was brought on with 1.1.6 but when I use cloud against my training partner I can connect a down throw into cross slash but only when he has a little bit of damage on him. I found that heavier characters (bowser and Dk is who he pucks sometimes) I can connect the technique provided the DI on his side is bad.

Hell, prepatch bayo would be afraid of cloud. a fast, strong, and defensive character that has 4 CHARGABLE FINAL SMASHES, an up air that stays out for almost a full second, the two strongest spikes in the game, a nair that's as big as dedede's entire hitbox, and a large, fast projectile that deals knockback? What "matchup" is there to that?
I can't for the life of me get the timing right on the fair frame cancel. So I full hop, then somehow fastfall and throw the fair out at the same time so only a few frames of the hitbox come out before I land? I just don't see how you do it, to be honest. Is the C Stick involved?
I've seen people use the two-hit jab immediately after one another on Glory (pity me. There's literally no one I can fight in Sm4sh locally except my brother), but I have trouble seeing how it is even possible. How does one do the two-hit jab immediately after one another?
sorry for the late question izaw, but i tried too much, with falco is easy the forward air to link combos, but with cloud i do it perfect (with the sword all on ground at last frame) 1 time after lots of try. i simply jump, when i'm on top of the jump i press down and immediatly do the forward, but lot of times i hit too early, and sometimes the forward not start (i touch ground before the animation of the sword is finished and not hit). i've tried with control stick C too for the forward. where is the exactly imput of moves and the timing? i'm bad on english, I may have misheard that part
Just realized these are barely gonna work on anyone in the cast cause there are floaties as well instead of fastfallers. Not all The combos will work on them.

He's DLC, so making him very powerful was a good business decision from Nintendo's point of view.

Yes I use the C stick, it's all about finding the right timing, similar to Sheiks DACUS in Brawl
I love how PK Fire just stops Cloud's Limit break blade beam like it's nothing.
