Good to see you back after Christmas. I'd love to see a vid on derestricting and maybe illegal mods for non racing applications as I don't need to worry about being race legal provided I'm track legal. More speed equals more fun...
hey chris, Happy New Year. I would try and increase the RPM first. you are constrained by the CC's, so you could over bore the cylinder if you could find a piston. My opinon, by the 175 super X30 as the IAME factory has done all the hard work for you. Just bolt it on and F N send it!!!
Hi Derek, also top video! However, here in Germany only Juniors below age 15 run in the restricted catagory. I would love to see the difference of tje old style exhaust/ carbi to the new ones on the unrestricted senior engine. Do you have some numbers here, too?
Hey DJ, nah I haven't done that for ages and can't remember off the top of my head. But the new pipes are wicked. have you got one of the new X30's with the new ignition?
@@PowerRepublic Hi Derek, would be a great video though, seeing the evolution of x30s! Yes, I got a brand new one out of the 21 production. Unfortunatley, COVId is pretty serious here. Hope that the tracks can open very soon to try it out.
Hi Derek. love your vids! Is there a way that we can see Dyno charts with different amounts spacers to see how much it shift the power and torque graph? I would love to see that...
Hey Erick, thanks heaps for tuning in and liking/sharing our videos. As you add spaces you increase the bottom end performance but take it away from the top end. And vice versa. This is almost the same for every engine I have worked on.
Hi Derek best video I've seen so far of a kart engine run on a dyno. Just wondering what gear ratio your using between the engine and the absorber ? cheers John
@@PowerRepublic thanks for reply Derek. I've just got my land and sea dyno going and can't load 2 strokes using an auto run and suspected I needed to run the absorber faster so thanks for confirming. cheers John
Another good video! I run the original exhaust, do you think being able to adjust the flex length will help claw back the power and torque disadvantage under certain conditions?
Thank you. Loving all your videos. I just bought a Kart with an X30 and I was wondering if there is any way of determining how many hours the engine has run already or am I best just to get the thing serviced.
Yeah it’s not easy. If you’re only new you can hit and hope. Should be sweet. Otherwise if you have the budget, get it done so you know where it’s at and reliable
Hey mate Thanks heaps for doing this compare just wondering was there any tune changes needed or just simple direct swaps between 2020 and 2021 restrictors
So no egt or cht being logged during the dyno runs , so how do you know that the power difference wasnt generated simply by the jetting not being optimised for each setup.
correct my friend and great observations skills. This sounds like a great idea for a RUclips video remake! what you didn't see off camera was we tuned the carb with the Lambda ( plus the carbs run almost the same settings on the dyno with every engine would you believe) on previous runs. Then we added the brand new pipe which wasn't pre drilled for and EGT sensor. CHT is not logged as we use the water temp with water cooled engine. Thanks for writing in.
In your opinion, does the power increase on x30 make it a better option than a rotax evo taking into consideration the fact that i run over the weight class for evo as it is???
The Rotax still hammer, especially if you are over the minimum weight. My recommendation - If you have a Rotax keep it, if you have an X30 keep that. New X30 restrictor = parity with Rotax. Heavy drivers get the Rotax Lighter drivers can choose either
Hey Benny, not sure on the differences of the AUS v's EU versions. I would assume they are the same. or are you talking about the old style pre 2018 v's the new style current version??
@@PowerRepublic we have an additional silencer that attaches onto the end of the new style exhaust that’s is regulation at some tracks in the U.K. for 21, but no worries if you don’t have access to these silencers, thank you for your reply i enjoyed the video i’m missing the sound of x30s
Hey Jeff, yes I did the test when they came out and it wasn't a massive stand out. in saying that, everyone is racing with the new ones now so I would go with that if you could
And that is why is stopped racing. Limits engines to whatever cc for class, NA only and only standard fuels. Race what you bring the rest of this is BS.
Great to see the numbers, thanks Dez. 👊
yeah you are rolling with the house of power ma man!!

You are very welcome my friend
Any chance you can do a KA100 dyno? and how it compares to the X30 restricted?
Sure can, happy new year and thanks for the suggestion

yeah wicked, the new engines are awesome. Hang in there, the storm front seems to be passing and you guys will be racing in no time!!
would the x30 manifold fit any other pipes? like from the vortex engines for example? what is the OD of the manifold.
not sure, I would get the manifold to suit your engine

Hey John, thanks mate,. we are using a 12/27T which is 0.444 to get the dyno turning the correct speed.

it would help shift it around, but to me Power is Power, so I would lean towards the new pipe with the new 2021 restrictor

I haven't gone deep enough on that yet, we just swapped the restrictors. If I were you I would get a Lambda sensor and tune it on track

Can you show your dyno set up?
sure can, it features pretty heavily on our Instagram too BTW
does the 2021 x30 silencer make a difference in terms of power on the senior restrictor, also what is the weight regulation for senior x30 in AUS
