John 3 verse 5 ESV, "unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God."
Some say the "water" refers to water baptism (to some sprinkling, to others immersion [Greek βαπτίζω baptizó: to dip, sink {as when dying cloth, it has to go fully under the water}].
Others say, John 3:5-6 the Remedy, "5 Jesus answered, "I tell you plainly, no one can be part of God's kingdom unless they are first born into the world and then renewed by the Spirit.6 The first birth - the natural, water birth - is a birth of individuals infected with sin and selfishness, but the second birth - the birth of the Spirit - is a birth of a right heart and new mind:"
Many others see Baptism as the gateway into the Church, meaning you become a member of that Church and believe what they believe. This we must be careful of, for if we find that church teaching falsely, some might leave faith too.
Fast, pray, study, and follow the Spirit's leading. Some would see this as an act of obedience. John 14:26 ESV "the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things"
