    I have to make notes. I've a 58x rotating assembly but a 24x harness. I think I'll just have to extend my sensor to the front.

    Great information, I haven’t built an engine in 35 years. Now I’m retired I’m getting back into racing, so this information is a huge help.

      Same here. Been a long time since rebuilding a few engines and this is very helpful. I've seen that reluctor wheel in vids about main bearings on LS engines and wordered what I wa seeing. I bought a very nice '04 Z71 Suburban, 5.3 that has lifters rattling like crazy after my trusted mechanic replaced the sump O-ring and a bunch more. 195 K so I'm pulling motor and fix all the usual problems. Great platform but some don't change oil as they should. Still 195 K trouble free is pretty respectable. Saving this vid.

    I have a 2007 Tahoe with a gen4 ly5 engine I want to know can I put in a gen3 l59 engine if I switch the reluctor?

    I have the Lq4 I want to do the 6.2 bore and change to 58x reluctor wheel. Put the sensor for cam in front and install the engine in my 2010 H3t

      Any update on that because I’m thinking about doing the same thing with a twin turbo charger but still trying to figure out the lq4 came with the 24x if I swap the crankshaft to 58x and fit the sensor will it interfere with the ECU calibration and of course the camshaft goes need to be swapped to 3x configuration but the sensor is on the front cover but the lq4 the cam sensor is on the top of the block if you have any insight that would be appreciated

      @@MrDeath-bn8uv from what I’ve read you can install the 58x crank and swap the sensor.

    Hey I had question I had a bad crank shaft on my 5.3 I was wondering if I can use a gen 3 5.3 crank shaft I have sitting around I just gotta take my reluctor wheel off my gen 4 and replace it on the gen 3 then bolt it back up

    • @nextgenperformance131
      @nextgenperformance131  6 месяцев назад

      Yes that would work but the reluctor wheel is timed

      @@nextgenperformance131 I just got done with my build it all went in smoothly I rebuilt my bottom end and top end installed it back it my truck and it would crank but wouldn’t start I looked to see what my problems were didn’t find any so I had a gen 3 crank sensor and installed it to my 5.3 it had a long crank but it started but my rpm’s anrt working neither is it shifting correct due to the rpm’s but a new gen 4 crank sensor would solve that problem

    • @aaronzavala4336

      Also would you think the crank shaft position sensor would cause low idle also because the rpm’s ?

      Transition years. I have an 05 and it is still 24x and 1x cam but it has the sensor up front for the cam.
