My parents house and field were fenced by the previous owner who owned a Shipyard on the Clyde in Scotland. He used 3x4 Aframosa hardwood posts. Hard as nails you used to have to drill pilot holes to get a staple in. Rotted off at soil level and the tops where birds pooed on them.
Good luck with the last calves.😊

Hi Andrew, the best way for young stock to pick up the Johnes bacteria is for them to graze paddocks that the cows have been in as their manure carries the bacteria.
Dedicated paddocks for calves/yearlings only helps prevent this.
Always enjoy listening to the vets talk.
    Cheers 🇦🇺

The old man reckon they are Totora posts. A lot of those trees grown around the area. My husband grew up in Te Awamutu, his father taught at the college Tony Bevin was his father . Husband is Richard Bevin, we live in Blenheim now. Love your volgs

Lucky if posts last 5 years before rotting here in the UK since the govt banned effective preservatives.

Might get into contact with 'future post' nz, they use discarded plastic to make farm and landscape posts with. Probably more competition for UK discarded plastics with the recyclers, WTE burners & Mura- Teesside etc). I have seen a few vids of UK concrete post makers.

A vaginal prolapse is much different than a uterine prolapse

It's funny you say prolapses are very uncommon. There is a vet show on in the states that has them all the time. All the years I've been involved in ag, I don't remember any.? Not sure why.

They dont get weaned off milk until they reach weaning weight, they may be eating a lot of that but they still need milk
