I am 65 and have been a fan of America from the very beginning, especially this song and A Horse With No Name. A few years ago my wife and I flew from Wisconsin to L.A. with the specific plan to make this drive on the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) from Santa Monica to Big Sur. I took my America CD and played this song in our rental car as we traveled this stretch of road. Traveling the PCH listening to America is the best anti-depressant there is. I wish I lived there.

I'm from Kentucky, 48yrs old, I remember listening to this song on the radio when I was a kid. It was always one of my favorite songs, I'll never get to see it in real life but I showed my son this video, he said that is beautiful, he is 15.
I think my wife, now in heaven, put all this together to remind me of the LOVE we had travelling Ventura Highway. We met in high school in 1972 in Santa Monica and went to UC Santa Barbara together from 74 to 78. We went back to Santa Monica on weekends on Ventura Highway. So I know every off ramp every overpass. This song played on the radio; replayed with this video it kindles memories as a gift from my wife in Heaven. Together We had five kids and (now) ten grandchildren. She passed away two years ago.
Yes, love never dies. So sorry for your loss. I’m 61 and my husband is 64. We’ve been married 36 yrs. We drove the California coast about 10 yrs ago. We’re retired now and hope to drive the coast again next year.
Make it happen! Look, the country is in jeopardy, the world is in chaos and life moves at the speed of light! I have been out here for 27 years and my woman (at the time) and I, worked and saved our asses off to get here and I am not letting inept and corrupt POS who run CA rob me of the Ocean Sunsets I have ahead of me! YOU GOT THIS 💪🗽
My home southern California Ventura Sherman oaks LA hollyweird LoL pretty much all over!! Malibu and Venice and all surrounding Beaches every weekend of my childhood and teenager year's..I miss home!!
Elderly in NJ here. I always dreamed of going to California. Tried twice and was met with obstacles both attempts. We can no longer drive distances and I miss being in the car on a highway at 65-70 mph on a warm day windows open, radio blaring. Thank you for this upload. Allowed me to visit California and see the Pacific Ocean vicariously through your windshield and reminiscing flying down the highway the way we used to plus hearing my favorite song by America! ❤
I lived and worked in California 1998-2021, most of it in Mojave (the fashionable place for rocket companies) and I was fortunate enough to make that drive a few times without it becoming drudgery. It was a great experience and I enjoyed much of it, but I'm glad to put it behind me. Florida A1A is just as gorgeous in places, but lacking in mountains I must admit.

In 2008 my husband and I were moved to Saudi Arabia on an assignment. We embraced the life and adventures that beckoned to us in the desert of the "Magic Kingdom" - a life in the sunshine, where the days were longer, the nights were stronger than Moonshine (and we did have that there). I wasn't allowed to drive at that time, but I had a lovely driver named Rauf that took me everywhere. He would call, and this song was my ringer. I once lived in Carpinteria an worked in Ventura and everyday I would drive to work thru the Rincon section of the Ventura Highway. It was a wonderful drive each morning and evening.

Perfect video for this great song ! For me one of the best band of ever: excellent harmony, talent, music and unforgettable songs...From Italy: love The America and California State 🇺🇲
Here in Scotland we have our own West Coast scenic drive called the Ayrshire Coast ! We don't have the Palm trees to adorn the route but we do have 2 world class Championship golf courses in Royal Troon and Turnberry as part of the journey . The Ventura highway looks absolutely magnificent and the accompanying song of the same name is of timeless quality ! All the best to everyone from the Old Country ....
Love California, it was my home sweet home for 50 years, until corrupt politicians allowed the state to be ruined. I lived in the area videoed. I am from Thousand Oaks, CA and worked Goleta, CA. I drove that highway every day for years (101 Ventura Freeway). And for the record, I like the UK too; plenty of good history, good folks. Best to you in Scotland.
As an old on air radio DJ? I remember clearly ? Playing this tune along with the Groups other classic A horse with no name. And let's not forget? Sister Golden hair. Yes the group in the 70s had thinking back 3 tunes that were radio friendly. But ? Got plenty of air air credits not just at a few stations I had worked on the air at? Thank you! Every time I hear the song while driving now, I remember this drive and this video. And Hwy 101 in Oregon sure is not too shabby at all, I know. When I was working on the West Coast and shot this video, I actually started in Oregon before heading south. I made a point to drive the coast as much as possible. I drove it wherever possible, pretty much all the way from Newport, OR to Malibu. Have dashboard video of almost all of it. And a lot of photography. The trip of a lifetime. Oregon blew my mind.

Thanks for sharing this. My wife and I walked the 35 mile stretch between Santa Barbara and Ventura this past summer. Two days, camped in Carpenteria...game changing experience for me. Beautiful
I just drove down Ventura highway a few weeks ago. I have a lot of great memories along this highway. I'm leaving California on March 30th, after living here for 44 years.
I just recently left, last July, after 50 years of living in that exact area shown in the video. It’s heartbreaking to see such a beautiful state, and a beautiful place like Ventura and Santa Barbara counties, Go down the way it has. The extreme left wing democratic politics have ruined the state. 🙁🙁 Politics be darned, I may return anyway one day

I - we - rented a yellow Mustang convertible to drive this coastal gem from San Diego to San Francisco. Does that count? lol

I've lived here at Ventura Couny line for 37 years. It is beautiful! Remarkable.

Politics be darned, I may return anyway one day
My home southern California Ventura ,Oxnard , Malibu- Santa Monica , Montecito
Awasome great song with a great video. Thx for the bucket list idea....
Non mi stancherò mai di ascoltare questa canzone.

We drove there..and this song was on.
Ya gotta play the song! 😉
Good music, matching video.
I'm a native Californian and I love this!
looking over to my left and seeing the ol` man driving, thank you
I'd surely wreck my car driving on this road, wanting to stare at the ocean. Great video.
