I won a Commander tournament using Alexios, he's pretty fast, when I got back to my side of the field I placed Jeska, Thrice Reborn and Alexios already had 4 +1+1 counters. I attacked the only player who could have removal, the deck should carry several spells that cause massive damage to the board, for example Chandra's Ignition to avoid blockers, I recommend it, it's funny to see how the others decide who to attack.

Gotta be careful with collusion at the table though! As the person swinging gets to assign combat damage and assign it where no damage goes through with trample. Very fun commander though!

It’s weird that trample is a may ability. I can’t think of any other keywords where the controller gets to decide if they work or not lol

If I had a lot of money, I think there can be an argument made about building a Da Vinci deck based around the Darksteel Monolith: Tutor it, Pay 2 + B to discard it and create a token copy, then just unload an Eldrazi since you're technically still casting it. A tried and true tactic of Eldrazi players for sure but the fact that you Mono Blue can tutor really well as well as defend makes this an interesting choice

Alexios, the player controlling him, can choose to assign all damage to the blocker, and not trample. So you can still "chump" him, if your table works together, to stop Alexios from snowballing.

      That’s true!

Wow, I didn’t know that. That actually makes him pretty bad. He’s just a vanilla creature that gets +1/+1.
