- The wonderful Empire Brass perform on Connecticut Public Radio in this broadcast. It is always enjoyable to hear a favorite ensemble or soloist play in front of a live audience. You get the honest performance, and you may hear a bit more "excitement" because of the listeners. Musicians generally play better for people than microphones.

Lovely stuff thanks
Wow! This piece is incredible! Super exciting and full of drama. Listening to it with my eyes closed allowed my imagination to soar. This is fantastic!
Empire has the definitive approach to the Ewald quintets. The Borodin Quartet was a huge influence on them and it shows :)
Allegro Moderato - 1:23
Intermezzo - 6:47
Andante - 11:35
Vivo - 14:58
Who are the players, please give the names.
I'm not clear on when the personnel changes happened in the group. I decided to not list names for that reason. The image may not even have all the right people, but it was the only one I could find from around this same time.
Quite different from Quintet 1. Not nearly as lyrical.
