I went overboard and got the supersawzall because It came with a 8ah battery free. Gotta say I'm very pleased with it. Guys on the job site have already nick named it "the demon saw" lol
I like the newer shoe adjustment better the lever on my Milwaukee super sawzall gets stuck around the rubber overmold when trying to adjust the shoe a ton hopefully they will release a super sawzall with these new features wish the super sawzall had a one key model maybe they will give us that like this newer sawzall model @WorkshopAddict
I have it since day one i beat the crap out of it the only thing is the rubber boot have came loose but i order a new one its an easy fix otherwise its a very very nice tools reliable and robust and light !
I wish that the battery connection area could be replaced, my sawzall fell off of a rafter and snapped the groove to hold the battery in place, can't get it fixed. $300 gone
I have the older 2720. I have had the blade release collar jam on me SO many times. I'm not talking a jam you can just unjam. I'm talking the rotating collar literally slips OVER the top if the inner piece to where you cannot resolve it without disassembly. The first time I sent it in for service under warranty and had a milwaukee dealer fix it. The second time I didn't have time to wait on the project, called milwaukee support, got disassembly instructions and fixed it myself. The third time was today and I am just completely DONE. Three separate projects completely derailed for a home owner who rarely even utilizes this tool. I can't imagine how quickly a 2720 would fail on a jobsite. After watching your video I'm going to give Milwaukee one more shot and I'll try the 2821 because it looks like they really beefed up the collar system. I swear if it does the "slip over jam" on me again, I'm shipping milwaukee both of the saws and demanding recompense. I have so many M18 tools I have zero issues with and somehow Milwaukee is screwing up on the sawzall - the tool they literally put on the map. Thanks for this video my man. It gives me hope. I desperately want projects to stop getting derailed.
Great video! It’d be cool to see a longevity test while cutting. Not sure if this has been requested in the past or if you have a video with this already (didn’t see one) also can’t find anyone who’s made a video showing that. It’d be cool to see how long a battery/saw lasts by cutting multiple boards; type and nail imbedded. I do demo and what I care about is the tool lasting all day. The Ideal saw/battery would be one that last all day on one battery and not too heavy. If not one battery then a charger battery combo that can charge fully before the other battery dies so I can keep swapping keep cutting. Don’t care too much about anything but cutting and lasting.
I had a look at the part breakouts for these sawa. The 2720 has the ring gear and crank/counter weight in two pieces. This is likely so they can slip in case of a blade jam. The 2821 has a one piece ring gear / crank / weight. This saves weight but not as durable.
I have the new one, buy I like the older one's shoe lever design, the new one has the button design and it is very difficult to push-especially if you are in the middle of cutting, the shoe gets stuck is very annoying.
As always Brian excellent walk through on this new Sawzall! I definitely agree with you about the metal-reinforced battery slot being carried over to all of their tools. I think every cordless tool company should do that. Do you like the new way to actuate the blade guard? Seems like the button on each side might be cumbersome if you’re wearing thicker gloves or just have stubby fingers ya know? What do you think compared to the older way (which I like).
The new standard sawzall is inferior IMO, they cheapened out on the rubber boot, mine got an hole in after the first job, my old sawzall had a lot of abuse and the boot is still intact.
Milwaukee Sawzall’s fail between the battery and the tool. It’s not covered very often under warranty. If they can fix that flaw, they should last forever.
@@cwikk660 just curious do u have the one key version? because there is no info on the stroke length on that model. It would be disappointing if they reduced the stroke on the more expensive model?
Nice review, I purchased this saw a few weeks ago. I don't care for the new shoe buttons. You have to use both fingers which is a pain if wearing gloves or only have one hand available. Poor design
We all like different things. Did you have the old one with the lever? That needed you to remove your glove and then get the shoe in an almost perfect spot to lock it back in place. While it is not perfect, I view the buttons as an upgrade.
I make my own with old blades. It is super simple to grind a blade down to a knife. I do not use it on meat much as it is not needed with a good quality knife. For example, on the neck of a deer, I cut the meat with a knife then use a pruning blade to cut the bones. A normal blade does not cut meat well at all.
@@roxalainen Unless you have it out one notch too far and it is slipping in just one notch, then I could see it. But if it constantly slips in, No Bueno.
I never thought about using my sawzall for doing gardening work. The great things you learn on the internet! Thanks for the video!

I came to see if you would cover what exactly that metal bar is on the right of the sawzall? What exactly is that?
Which one is better , m18 fuel sawzall or m18 fuel super saw?
Is the super sawzall still better? is an updated super sawzall on the horizon?
Super is still more powerful. I expect to see an update next year, later
@@WorkshopAddict ok good because that’s the one I have lol.

I did, but if I edited it out, I am sorry. I was trying to make this video shorter and did not think I cut that out.

Milwaukee should have given this saw orbital. I'm not sure there is enough difference to change from the gen1 fuel sawzall to this newer model.

Huge upgrade as the shoe will slide into place rather than fiddling with the lever. Will it hold up long term better is yet to be seen.

Don't they make a battery like "dummy rubber" to put in place of the battery for protection?
Never seen one.
The old one had a 1 1/8” stroke and this new one has 1 1/4” so the specks did change. You should do a side to side comparison.

Keep what he has. There are great things that Milwaukee did, but wear your current model out, then upgrade.
