The "honor is dead but I'll see what I can do" and the fight right afterwards was by far the best in the entire series for me. Hell, even out of the entire cosmere for some reason. nothing is more satisfying than this to me.

It is the single best Kaladin moment, and first time through, it was electrifying. However, I did not like the pacing/attitude that this audio offered. Too quickly, not as badass as it sounded in my mind. But point remains, best line.
Idk, personally i like the kaladin szeth fight way more. Not that this one isnt great.

To be fair, he's pumped full of Stormlight and doing something more or less considered impossible.
He is the main protagonist -i give him a pass for being extra, and it's not like he's delusional or something, he actually is extra

Syl, from the entire book series, is wonderful. I forget the exact scene but when she's happy rock kneels and then comments (roughly) "look Kal, I'm a sliver of honor's divinity. You should be kneeling"

What the lighteyes never realized is that if the Darkeyes Captain Kaladin hadn’t entered the duel, every single one of them would have been slaughtered by the Blackthorn at the height of the Thrill. Nothing would have stopped him then from being Odium’s Champion... Dalinar would’ve butchered them all, and Honor be Damned...
I'm not sure if the thrill was at the shattered plains at this time...

For any other author / series this would be uncontested the best scene in the book series! For Sanderson he delivers so many times it's actually debatable lol. But such an epic moment and fight!
He is surely one of the greats :)
Yeah I've been listening to scenes just all day. Kal has the most badass fight scenes but dalinar may be better.
This moment is tied only by the blade for the bridge crews scene. But I’m still in the beginning of Oathbringer.

Definitely my favorite of the cast, with Szeth as a close second and Syl on the third place
The all outdid themselves here and their voices match with the characters so well. I personally love when Kaladin-bridge leader is handing promotion to a light eye officer on the battlefield and the dude salutes or when he argues with Adolin and he does that with enough command in his voice that it throws him off for a sec.
One of the best moments in all of the Cosmere. I find myself returning to this audio clip over and over

I think so too. Animated would be the best way to capture it all without looking hokey. IMHO, I think that whatever they did to make Arcane look so good is exactly the medium and art style they should use for the Stormlight Archive.

I had goosebumps when listening to this for the first time. So many such well written fight sequences and those voice actors are so good - you feel their emotions and get instantly immersed. I literally devoured those 1000+ pages long books in a couple of days. I would love it if they made it into a TV series and I would pray to the almighty that they follow the source material.

I'm a recent reader of Stormlight. And I love the characters and world building. Hell I love all of the cosmere stories I've read... but Kaladin stands out in fiction for me. I've read up to chapter 120 of Oathbringer

I didn't like how it was spoken here in audiobook. I imagined him speaking more slowly, with more weight in the words. It sounded so badass and epic in my mind when i read it.
This is genuinely how we pre-game for gym time. The score is good, the scene is epic, and the gym is just another part of the journey brothers and sisters.

This is honestly so good! I'm really impressed with the extent of background music effects. This scene is an absolute favorite of mine. I love that there are graphic audio's for epic scenes like this.

At around 15:53, Relis should've been shouting "What is it? What is it! No, I didn't kill you!", but in this it's completely inaudible. Almost sounds like the voice actor was underwater while recording that line.

i always pronounced Adolin.. as ADD-olin... not AID-olin.. Anyone else? am i wrong?
I do too, AID-olin is how Sanderson pronounces it though
I think it depends where you're from, in my mother tongue the A sounds sounds more like Ah on its own so I'd say Ahdolin. I think if you're english or american the A wil on its own sound more like AE So you'd get A-dolin.

I hadn't noticed but you are very right!
I believe Graphic Audio has a small bit of leeway with script writing.
You'll notice when listening that because of the unique cast nature and each person having a distinct voice they are able to remove a lot of the "said Dalinar" type of narration.
It makes for a more immersive experience. I do wonder why they cut out Relis words. Perhaps they felt the scream was enough lol
@@AudioImagination this is very late, but Relis does say “I didn’t kill you” at one point. It’s very muffled, but you can hear it

I hate to be negative but cannot stand the way the VA says "Honor is dead but I'll see what I can do" for Kaladin sounds almost cheerful, feels like MCU.

I think people overlook how much Renarin cares for adolin. He knew damn well he was going into that ring to die defending his brother. It was dumb for him to do but dang if he isn't a thug.

I can't remember but does anyone ever talk to kaladin about the fight after the fact? As surely people must of talked about a spear man dancing between two shard bearers.... I mean obviously hom claiming a boon was a massive thing but did alodin or hos father talk about him holding his own? Its been years since i read this book.
Broooo. They literally did talk about this. Dalinar and adolin were his main supporters.... I love kaladin character especially when he said his 4th ideal. He is badass with his depression.
Kaladin must get tired swinging that spear around.
Really enjoy this "audiobook", only wished the background music/audio was a lot quieter. Makes it hard to follow the narration sometimes.

@@AudioImagination4 had a few VA changes and I was disappointed. I thought I read somewhere that the c.o.o.f had something to do with not being able to get the same actors for Adolin, Shallan, and the narrator.

Does anybody know exactly why Relis freaked at the end? That was never addressed by anyone. Was he just incredulous at Kaladin?
I think he could hear the Blade screaming, because Kaladin was also touching it
Kaladin grabbed the blade. Guess the bond somehow injected a bit of sentience into the dead spren in the blade.
He's also a Radiant and could hear his shard blade screaming the entire fight
