- Alton Towers have launched a new range of VIP experiences for 2024, including track walks on Oblivion and Wicker Man. In this video we talk about our lift hill climb on Wicker Man along with sharing our full review of the experience. Brilliant move from Towers to offer the experience again and to change their stance. Not many companies would act so swiftly. Credit where its due.
I have a feeling its because of the negativity of his video. If it wasn't a youtuber it would probably be a different story. They arnt sorry about their mistake, they are sorry they got caught.

@morph- You could well be right, but at least they've taken the feedback on board and implemented the changes. Can't ask for more...well, they could make it a tad cheaper, too!
For a future VIP experience I’d absolutely love a full walk around of Alton Manor so I can fully appreciate all the scenes and see the ride with the lights on as well
Another good suggestion would be a Thirteen behind the scenes including a lift walk and a tour around the drop section so everyone can see how it works
Now that would be great!
They did that with John wardley at some point

I’m doing this at the end of June and I’m SO excited! Last time we went to towers, we rode wickerman all day (managed 11 rides) so this is going to be an extra special experience for us!! Thanks for sharing your review!

So glad you two had a good experience this time! I know Kings Island offers this a couple times a year for The Beast but I have never done it. They use to offer a camp too where you could camp under it in tents. I have no idea if any of this is a thing anymore since the pandemic or a couple years before. I do though have to say a couple cool experiences I had was during an event they had called “Coasting for kids”. It was to raise money for a place in Orlando, Florida. A little like make a wish but they have a fairy-tail land fore entire families to stay. I basically raised money and had so many hours to see how many tides I could do on the racer. They closed one side just for the event. We got special ride times on other coasters too. The cool part was walking through the park before it opened with no one but some maintenance workers. It was so quiet and peaceful! It was a very cool experience!! Some parks in America still have this advent but unfortunately not KI. I did it 2 or 3 years before they stopped. Can’t remember.

Why do the fire torches near queue line entrance no longer have fire? Seems such a shame special effects are left non working at a theme park. Looks great though.
Love the photos Shaun but I do think you should be wearing harnesses as the height at the top looks pretty high and if you were to trip there's quite a gab at the top off the lift hill looking down on the photos

BIG BOB LOOKS SO COOL
6:13 I did the swarm coaster climb earlier at the start of the season and because of how the timings worked out we climbed up in the dark and the the slightly annoying thing was the picture quality probably isn't as great as if we did it in daylight as there was a sort of bloom effect to them so some of the pictures were there were light sources so some of the pictures aren't great as there is just blooms of light but in all fairness we did it at night which is cool in itself as that is a lot rarer but it's something I would definitely like to do again (perhaps colossus next time) in the daytime to hopefully get some nicer quality photos

We are seeing a massive change at Alton Towers. Really quick response to feedback, putting guests at the centre of what they do, and investing in the quality of the product. How bright does the future now look for this resort!

Crazy how in the same park you can get one bad track walk experience and one good track walk experience. Maybe they need to work on training their staff to accommodate a fun experience for any track walk! Would love to still do this one day!
I love Alton towers but I scared of rollercoaster but I get over my fobia 😅
Sounds interesting and good VIP Experience & better experience compared to Oblivion one, its good they have re offered you to go on that again, with a different experience. With Wickerman tour, although the lift hill you get nice views over whole park, something that would make it more epic is if they take you into sections around statue itself? Especially three pieces of track sections that pass underneath & through it? Thats would be good to experience aswell maybe tunnel tour from top of drop to corner drop section? That would be good addition along with yes the tour of maintenance shed, brake run etc. Hopefully they might consider adding these to experience? I hope so. But nice review, enjoyed and look forward to more VIP experiences in future. Have liked & shared. 😀👍

This was so much better than the Oblivion lift hill tour. Always loved the theming on Wickerman. Too bad the fire effects were turned off.

I think a wickerman themed restraunt would be very nice, just not if it was done by arrowmark 😆😆I personally think a vip tour of the curse at alton manor would be a great experience, getting to see the scenes in there and how they are done.

Will you be doing the lift hill walks on Colossus and The Swarm at Thorpe Park? I lift hill walk on Hyperia would be awsome but i dont see them doing this with how tall it is standing at 236ft tall.
I did them a few years ago and would like to redo them at some point!

Europa Park in Germany is our favourite park and Steel Vengeance at Cedar Point is my top coaster!

I can remember when it cost about £20 to get into Alton Towers. £65 seems like a lot.
It’s £35 per person if you book in advance and there’s usually 2 for 1 offers available somewhere so £17.50 pp and that’s assuming you don’t just buy an annual pass if you visit Merlin attractions often. The track walks and the expresses are what raise the price.
Are you going to do the oblivion walk with photos and possibly a video if you can because i want to do ot because of my love for the coaster and to know if it would be worth my money. Please answer this if not its ok.

They’ve already done dynamic pricing for a while now. Many parks around the world do this so it doesn’t surprise me that Merlin opted for this too!
I reckon that the Wickerman walk was better than the Oblivion walk
