I know i'm seeing this, a couple of years too late for you to read this, but i really prefer this kind of cover videos. The sound of you drumming is not remastered to erase imperfections, like in so many cover videos. You sound very good!! Keep it up
Thanks man. It's always great to hear from a drummer on here. I agree with you about Aaron Comess, the drummer of the Spin Doctor's. I actually first heard him play on a Zildjian Promo CD they were playing at Zildjian Day in London (I think it was about 1993) and it forced me to check out who he was and I stumbled across the Spin Doctors.
Ha, thanks for watching man. You will notice that I don't have any overhead mics, which is why I have my cymbals so low so the tom mics can pick them up... but as you spotted, perhaps a bit too close this time:)
Awesome playing... on all of your videos... I wish you used the kick cam on all of them. I am teaching myself to play and this was super helpful. Thanks for playing and posting
@djkandy93 Hi. The kit is a Pearl Masters MMX. I've had it about 15 years so not sure they even still make this more unfortunately. Thanks for watching!
@pindazakie Thanks! Yes, the bell of the cymbal is hard to hit, I find a change of grip helps. I usually play with my thumbs pointing up, but when I hit the bell I grip with my palms down in a matched grip. It makes it a bit easier to aim the stick.
man thats great.... by the beginning I thought "man... those cymbals are too close... i´d hit them by mistake..." just continued viewing the video and guess what? at 1:44 u hit the avedis... just saw that coming...
Thank you for this ... sending me back to my rudimentary training, but it's worth it ... question tho. You add a little 16th grace note on the Kick following 4 starting with the first verse. Was it intentional that you left it out during the entire intro right up to the first words of the verse, but left it in when the instruments dropped for the "drums only" chorus ?
Err... I meant to say back in the day but butterfingered the done button instead of backspace. Stupid touchscreen! Anyway, as a drummer for over two decades, I have to say you rocked it. Aside from the little misfire on the crash at 1:44 I find no fault. I didn't notice you dragging, as others have said, at all.

Hi, thanks for watching. The A is a 15" Zildjian A Custom Crash and the K is a 17" Zildjian K Dark Crash. Cheers.

Nice. So far, this is the best cover of two princess I've seen on youtube. I'm lovin' the drumkit too :)
@mykmonkey Cheers, thanks for watching. As you say, it's a demanding one on the foot, so the fills are the only chance to have a rest
Good job. Makes me want new cymbals and drums. Sounds good.
I love the sound of your snare!
Great video, great cover guy! Thanks!

@preciouslouse Hey, thanks for the comment. No idea why I look shy, perhaps I'm just concentrating :)
Yeah, I don't have enough mics to cover the 16" tom so I don't use it in any of my vids. I'll have to invest in another mic

Yeah, my kit is a Pearl Masters MMX Custom kit. It's about 15 years old, so not sure they make this model any more though
Very nice job, I have been working on his song too. Just a pointer though, keep an eye on your heights they seemed high a times

@drummerboy1066 Well, after such a good performance, I'd show my face on camera and say "Yay!" and or at least "I hope you enjoyed it" :)
I'd end up breaking the mic on the 14" (?) floor tom while trying to go form that to the 16", lol ..but thats probably just me. good cover tho :)
nice one!
Nice job. Not an easy song to play
good drumming
i will share it :) can i ask what kinda drum kit you have?
Nice video. just curious what are your A and K cymbal sizes and makes?

good job it's not easy to follow the drumms beat on this song
Really good job. You look too shy to make youtube videos though, why?
