      Well I actually planned to make this compilation but waited until I went to Texas and the videos were published from there so I can use them also in the compilation. This was one of the compilation I waited to do for a few months.

    Nice video! I really don't like wayside horns, but luckily there are almost none in my area.
    I knew most of the crossings would be the BNSF ones in Escalon & the crossings you filmed in Texas!

    What I also found out is, if the X isn’t flashing at all, the engineer is required to blow the horn on the locomotive at the crossing

    • @GTFilms3636
      @GTFilms3636 Год назад +3

      The engineer can still blow their beautiful train horns in the stupid quiet zones if they want.

      @@GTFilms3636 it’s interesting that steam engines have to blow in quiet zone regardless because they don’t have ditch lights I recall when big boy 4014 came to Texas in 2021 in Fort Worth. He blew at all the quiet zone crossings, and I soon learned that’s actually a regulation anything that predates an engine that has ditch lights has to blow in quiet zones.

    It should be that it's just one pattern for the 15 seconds before the train arrives. I'd imagine theyd have a way to wire that

    Well if I had to pick a wayside Id have to say the one here with a deeper tone sounds a tad better than the flatter one of texas, but not by much

    Some of these wayside horns sound like Canadian train horns, some sound similar to 6936’s RS3L, and there are some on the East Coast, which sound like K5LAs. There are other variations out there, but I don’t know where those are.
