    I would rather that the Haslabs just put forth their offering up front with all offerings included and then have tiers that would lower the unit price as more were sold. Patches, stickers, keychains, pens, can coolies etc don't make acceptable tiers. I would also like to see some buildings/bases for Classified for some display background.

    • @Sabir_DelNorte
      @Sabir_DelNorte 2 месяца назад +2

      Yep I never thought that fixtures and trinkets including patches and the other valid examples have zero value relative to the Haslab product or accompanying figures themselves. The fixtures and trinket items should always be upsell options to people into that kind of merch to collect…. The fact they made that a tier was definitely wack regardless of it you like patches and other little trinkets or not. It adds zero enhancement to the actual Haslab product itself.
      Corporations and the suits in them really are among some of the worst human beings I tell you.
      Disclaimer: for the love of the universe, I am not singling out Emily, Lenny, or the third gentleman that does a lot of the streaming/fan cast events or recorded events and/or SDCC events.
      This is my first Haslab for classified I actually backed because I missed the first two successful Haslabs for classified BUT the experience of this one in particular for what we are getting in the sense of tiers makes me really unsure I’ll do any other classified haslabs going forward and if I do, it can’t be on some trinket shit as tiers again. I wanted the rattler so I’m agreeing to swallow that bitter pill if you will but I am really not sure about future haslabs going forward under these conditions and mindsets of the suits associated to haslabs for the various toy lines

    The demographic for GI Joe and Transformers is older now. Only the kids (and now adults) that grew up in the 80s are the ones buying these toys. I think Hasbro knows this and is catering to their customer base that has the money AND have always wanted to see their beloved toys from the past in a more detailed and larger format. They are giving their core customers a chance to relive their childhood with something that they can put on the shelf as a really cool talking point. I think what they are doing is really cool and shouldn’t change.

    It's unnecessary. for the Classified vehicles, they could just make 30,000 and easily sell out in a few months. They have just figured out how to take advantage of their customers by getting 18 month interest free loans.

    I'll say this straight up. I love the Rattler as a vehicle. Never had one as a kid or the 25th as an adult. So with that said, I passed on the HasLab Rattler. Now let's take your Terror Drome idea and run with it. Had that been offered instead of a Rattler, my ONLY dilemma would be do I want the half or full unit. That's the HasLab stuff of dreams I personally want to see.

      Gi Joe toys should be available in every store to every child and collector. Sears target Walmart toys r us should have at least 3 isles of shelves stocked full of Gi Joe toys just like in the 1980s. Toys are not supposed to be sold online to a small group of extremely wealthy people who only come from the 6 families that are destroying our freedom and planet through their evil greed. Toys should be mass produced and sold everywhere including gas stations and big lots and woolworths and JC Penny and Kaybee Toy stores in the malls……what the heck is wrong with corporations that they are intentionally destroying children’s childhoods by not selling quality products at affordable prices?

    As someone who loves the GI JOE Classified line, but who also is rather impatient, I will say that asking $300-$400 for a toy OVER a YEAR from when I will actually GET it, well, that sort of discourages me from wanting to participate in the first place... but my overall larger issue with the Joe Haslabs is that they include character figures with them that we may never get a chance at otherwise (Wild Bill, Wild Weasel, etc). This frustrates me to no end, because I will happily pay 25-60 bucks or even more for the right characters for my shelf. I am LESS inclined to want to pay hundreds of dollars for a giant plastic vehicle model that I don't need or even have anywhere to put the damn thing.

    I don't need my Haslabs to be huge and expensive. If Haslabs also did projects like Marvel Legends' upcoming Dragon Man. Basically, Haslabs should give us special things, regardless of size. For example, a Cold Slither band with a base (stage?), an alternate heads pack (too creepy for retail), etc.
    I also don't see Haslabs failing as a huge issue if that's sporadic. I'd rather have the teams try and come up with risky ideas rather than just give us vanilla releases.

    I agree with your sentiment, but I’m confused about your opinion that certain RUclipsrs caused the engine of vengeance to fail. Hasbro did that to themselves by overpricing their products. Infact, just looking at some of the comments under this video is proof that most people feel all the haslabs are overpriced for what you get. Some products just aren’t as greedy as others.

    Hasbro took a bath on those 1/12 Star Wars First Order Tie fighters at retail, so I don't ever see them selling a full-size vehicle at retail again. Doubt they're even willing to do something that size through regular Pulse these days, regardless of the product line. Personally, I'm not getting a Rattler because I'm forcing myself to only buy toys I have room to display. No more Rubbermaid bins of unopened boxes.

    Yes, totally agree the HISS, Dragonfly and the Rattler should of all been Hasbropulse and speciality store exclusives. Haslab projects should be a GI Joe HQ or Whale and Terrordrome or sears Cobra Missile Complex- but not built of cardboard :)
    HISS with just the base offering and driver, no lights, no addon weapons for $225-250 as a Hasbropulse offering and then they could put out a repaint Blue version HISS the next year and an Arctic HISS the following and then a Desert HISS.
    Dragonfly base offering with just Wild Bill, no lights for $225-250. The following year put out a redeco of a Tigerfly. Then maybe reissue it in a desert paint scheme the next year.
    Same with the Rattler base model no lights and just Wild Weasel. Reissue it as the TigerRat (always thought it should be the TigerHawk) Tiger Force. Then redeco it for python patrol.
    Keep using these molds they are the fan favorite vehicles.

    I think the gap in retail vehicle size and Haslab offering will continue to trend upwards as we move forward... Meaning Hasbro will continue to release the smaller vehicles at a steady pace, but also push the "medium" vehicle size and price point up a bit while also doing the same with Haslab to some degree. I think environment sets /playsets will roll out first before any large scale HQ does. I also like the idea of being able to buy the HQ or Terror Drome in sections.

      The Hiss, Rattler, and Dragon fly were medium sized vehicles. Think bomb disposal (small) Hiss (medium) Rolling Thunder (large) as the current structure sits, we will never see large vehicles, medium sized vehicles are haslab only with all the faults that go along with that model, and small vehicles MIGHT make it to retail.

    I don't believe large scale vehicles would be a success at standard retail, especially considering stores like Walmart are carrying less of the Classified Series every day. However, I do believe cheaper versions would sell out as Pulse exclusives. If they released a Retro Hiss today, with the old school style cannons, canopy, and no electronics, it would sell out within hours. I'm not a huge fan of Haslab, but I'm not totally against it. It does make me feel like they don't have enough faith in the brand, and I hate the idea that once the window is closed the item will never be made again.

    I think with G.I. Joe they are giving us large vehicles with tiers to justify the Haslab price. I think the HISS at $150-200 could be done and you can buy the extra figures separately. Get rid of the value added tiers and sell at a reasonable price. The problem is the Ross/Ollies dump has people expecting cheaper stuff if you are willing to wait. We lost a complete head with Giant-Man that we still technically paid for, but because it didn't hit its tier number, we didn't get it. It IS broken. They are making things in the Haslab that should be sold normally instead! They also need to be consistant. All the stuff they did for the Sail Barge, to make it more special.. they need to put that effort into all their Haslabs!
    Also, if you make a Haslab Skystriker at 1:18th scale.. and it funded, why didn't you at least make a Haslab Rattler or Night Raven at 1:18th scale too? So... oh i dunno, that people that BOUGHT IT have something to pose against the Skystriker with? I know the prices will still be ridiculous, but some people will buy it just to have new stuff that matches.. instead we have a 1:18 skystriker, and classified scaled rattler.. yeah.. that goes well together!
    Please keep in mind, I like how all the Haslab Classified Vehicles have looked, and I'm glad many of the fans got to partake in them and get to enjoy them.. However.. They could have also made 1:18th versions as well.. and that way people that only wanted 1:18 could still feel a part of the community and get to have some fun memories too, but instead they just seemingly want to worry about how much they can overcharge us for the least amount of effort.
    Yes, I know someone will point out that that is the goal of most companies and ppl in general.. but it shouldn't be.. a Toy maker should focus on make good toys that their buyers will like, at fair prices, that will instill loyalty and trust.. but they don't care.. they think we are toy junkies, and need our fix, so they can overcharge and treat us like 2nd class citizens because they know we will take it.. for our toy fix.

    I think Matty Collector is the way to go. A timed edition exclusive product seems to bridge both worlds of retail and crowd fund. Those big boys like the Sail barge or the Cats Lair are one and done because of their size. Transformers (I believe) had a smart solution by making figures that are popular but Hasbro didn't bring to the states. But Joe doesn't have anything like that. Joe also has a bigger problem because the OG scale are already big playsets, the Classified scale is off the charts, that's why the FLAGG is the ultimate Haslab that will never be. So again, timed edition seems the way to go.

    I agree that the Haslab$#!T should be scaled back for the "Dream Projects", and they should re-name it Has-Dreams-Labs, and only reserve that utilization for the $300+ sales. Why do they do Haslabs for things like The H.I.S.S. Tank, The Dragonfly, The Ghostrider Charger, The Rattler. Etc., when The Vamp, C.O.I.L., RAM Cycle, and Troubble Bubble were successful sales and you can't find one left on the shelves ANYWHERE??? They were made for online availability, and brick and mortar outlets, but sold all the same. Yeah the argument is made that the Trouble Bubble was greatly reduced on Hasbro Pulse, because they needed to get rid of inventory, but that makes it great for Army Builders. At this point my argument against HasLabs is that they go and make these vehicles for regular sales, and similar sized vehicles for HasLabs exculsivity, but the worst offense is Serpentor as a Hasbro Pulse exclusive. That kind of offense is just to make something elite, for all the scalper fiends to grab all they can to sell on ebay for ridiculous amounts like they did with the Baroness and C.O.I.L. sets a couple of years ago. Right now as I write this up, I'm looking at 31 listings on ebay for Serpentor ranging from $200 to $400 for one unit, and a few for $2500 for multiple units! Stop. Enabling these guys HASBRO!! It doesnt take much for them to create different accounts to grab more than any limitation provided. Hasbro needs to cut down on that exclusivity angle, drastically, and start releasing things broader, because it's more greed on their end than anything else.

Haslabs should be huge things that they could not make any other way not iconic shi that’s retail size. Even that Terror Drome idea is great, just give me something that is actually worth the price and worth a haslab

    I believe it's safe to say it's adults collecting GI Joes classified and if we are paying for the Haslab just let us vote on our dream Haslab. Give us collectors choice on what our hard earned money will go towards. Some vehicles should be regular release, I don't see why the hiss tank needed to be a Haslab.

    The HasLab concept has been broken from the beginning. A billion dollar company doing crowdfunds that customers have to pay for up front? Crazy. However, I think that without a willing retail partner (i.e. TRU back in the day) none of the larger vehicles would ger produced. I backed the Rattler, but $325 (+tax) is still pushing it. And Lenny and team must know that Ramen is releasing the Not-Mauler and Not-Wolverine for a fraction of the cost. I would actually prefer if there was no Joe HasLab. Just focus on the missing smaller vehicles - Sky Hawk, Devilfish, Sharc, Locust Copter, etc.

    There is nothing left for Marvel Legends to justify a Haslab. They would either be too big or too expensive or too obscure. Making figures like Dragon Man would be best. G.I. Joe Flassied will eat for 4 more years, and the bottom will drop out because all mainline must haves will already be released.

    Yes the model is broken and leans heavily in Hasbro's favor. Hasbro receives 100% of payments more than a year in advance for any product. So Hasbro is sitting on a large amount of profit before even hitting send for production. That's insane. Although its of my own doing, I currently have 2 Dragonflys, 2 SW Cantinas and 2 Ghosts purchased and not a damn thing in my hands. Not to mention a Rattler or two in the near future.
    The biggest change needed: All Haslabs over $XXX should require a 50% down payment (non refundable) and the remainder is due before the item is to be shipped. No more paying in full up front and waiting. This does 3 things: 1) Puts Hasbro's feet to the fire to complete an item on time, if not earlier. 2) gives fans who may not be able to completely afford an item today, to pay a deposit and set a goal to save for 1 year in advance. I firmly believe these 50% deposits is sufficient to fund production of the Haslabs. For those who may say "What about those the people who dont pay and Hasbro made the item anyways"......well Hasbro makes extra units anyways. Hasbro must produce 5%-10% more than ordered to cover for damages or lost packages. 3) This will keep some Haslab prices in check and make Hasbro consider price points as to collect 100% profit then manufacture or require 50% down payments.
    Another issue at bay is Hasbro running multiple Haslabs at once. There should be one Haslab per yearly quarter which should cover the board for collectors (SW, Gi Joe, Transformers, Marvel). Hasbro should announce a Haslab calendar stating when to expect a Haslab for a certain line during a certain time of year. Also, something outside of those lines (Ghostbusters, D&D etc) should come with an announcement with 30 days notice before going live to give fans time to budget and prepare.
    Just my two cents.

    I look at it a bit differently as I have a huge 3d printer, so I have printed a bunch of classified and 1/18 star wars items they wont ever release and dont experience the FOMO.....The real production items are nicer so I went in on two rattlers, but sold my ghost pre order after I found a great print......not everyone can drop huge money on these massive projects so i get not wanting these sitting on shelves......even dragon man is going to be a pre order instead of a haslab.....which honestly there is no difference anyway other than not setting a goal and not having to provide tier unlocks ......gi joe hq will be a giant cardboard back drop for 200 bucks i bet

      Possibly, but you also have to remember that Lucas Film and Disney also have a say in what they do. Also their research may not support that enough people are willing to pay full price for this but there are enough people that want it to do a limited run.

    rather see GI Joe not release a haslab until previous has all shipped. Maybe do one every 2 years on odd years where don't have have haslab make 3 to 4 midsize vechiles like a Sharc with Deepsix, Armidillo Tank with Steeler, Skyhawk with Lift Ticket, Checkpoint Alpha with a green Shirt all of these could be reused on repaints or army builders and sell in greater # than haslab. Hasbro can sell on pulse or any fan channel or Amazon that wants to carry not like hasbro getting stuck with GI Joe Vechiles sitting in warehouse

    I agree that the latest Classified Haslab is disappointing on a number of Levels. Tier 1 is a joke. Do we really want another variant Baroness if we reach that goal too? I wont be backing this one. It would only sit on a plinth collecting dust if on display and it doesn't have the playability that a smaller scale and less costly affair would have back in the 80's when G.I.Joe had mass appeal to kids. This is becoming more niche for die hard fans with deep pockets.

    Hasbro is broke and GI Joe is their biggest cash cow. The Rattler is $50 over-priced and the patches tier is an insult (to increase profitability). Until GI Joe collectors and Star Wars collectors say “enough”, Hasbro will continue to exploit collectors.

  • @2012blueridge
    @2012blueridge 2 месяца назад

    Yes!! The haslab model is broken and doomed to self destruct. Why you might ask? Simple, they are making high priced collectors items for adults who will eventually Stop buying toys, rather than building a new generation of fans who will buy many lower priced retail toys for life. Keeping the focus on adults is a recipe for failure. As is making crap quality toys that will not hold up in even modest play conditions. Old hasbro knew this and made good quality low priced toys that are still in decent shape decades after being released

  • @Youmama187

    You ask if haslab, and other crowd funded projects, are broken? I respond has a GI Joe haslab, or most other haslabs failed? No they haven't. So haslabs haven't failed. As long as people back these projects then they will keep going. As long the money keeps coming in then these projects are successful, and not broken.

    • @Apunkwithtoys
      @Apunkwithtoys  2 месяца назад

      So I do mostly agree with you, some have failed and that might be due to people willing to buy something similar to what they are showing from retail(online), and don’t want to crowdfund an item like that. Where perhaps crowdfunding items need to be large and not for everyone, it’s just a thought 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • @nnemov22

    Yes, it's broke a d we the Collectors did it and we are still fueling them.
    Hasbro knows that most of the Haslab items 98% would never make it in retail, yes people will buy buy no the numbers of the product that will fatten their pockets.
    If Collectors stop buying (fuling) Haslab items, then their would be a change.

    Think i have never funded a haslab or crowdfund and never will especially if its hundreds of dollars and i got to wait a year or more for it . Its not whether they will make ,its whether i will be alive to get it . And a toy costing hundreds of dollars just isnt in my idea of what collecting was built on all these years of using spare change to build a collection after bills are paid and now it costs more than the rent for one toy because all these guys with nice pensions and toy channels making excuses for corporate greed . As far as the size of these projects that dont have to be the exact scale and most arent anyway . Make it believable . As far as action figures not being the majority of sales for these companies well that may be so but surely they are making more profit than the kids toys kids dont even play with anymore . We move this industry and it will die with us thats why these companies are squeezing all they can get from us before its all over . People collecting for nostalgia are going fast . It cant last that much longer . These haslabs were supposed to be dream projects and a few have been but airplanes and giant man arent dream projects just highway robbery and i will never participate in such nonsense .

  • @Figures_of_Action_Reviews

    Haslabs are unnecessary in my opinion. It has already been proven that people will buy vehicles for 6 inch figures. They don't have to scale back on the features to make the sale. Almost every Haslab with exception to projects like the Ghost Rider car (which was too expensive for what was offered) has been fully backed. Even now resellers of Haslabs like the Sentinels are making almost triple their money back selling pre-owned Sentinels. So if people are willing to pay 600+ for what they can no longer get directly from Hasbro that is proof the Haslabs are just a way to pull in as much profit as they can. It's not servicing fans and collectors, it's just Hasbro doing what companies do which make a bunch of money.

    Dreams are the Sail Barge, Unicron, The Ghost. But things like Giantman, Omega Prime, Rancor, Ghostrider car/bike, Hiss, Dragonfly, Rattler, those are not Labs or dreams. Those are items that can easily be retail for $200. Masterpiece level items that are still very affordable. I even think you could get away with an HQ and 1/5th a Terrordrome for $200. To me a Haslab should be something so HUGE that it's for people not only with the money but also room to display it. Hasbro want to make this piddly little stuff at increasingly knock in your balls prices. The Rattler is $50 overpriced and they took a figure away, it in no way should have patches, that's an utter disgrace and the worst insult possible.
