Amazing u just said 6-6 w DJ? LOL! I believe had Brick started from day one NOLES would be 3-1 at least! He can complete 50% of his passes like DJ BUT he can RUN!
The truth is DJU was a bust at Clemson Oregon St and now with you guys. We didn’t have a viable option at Clemson to replace him until Cade got there. Cade was not ready as a freshman to play. DJU doesn’t get ahead on the scoreboard where the backup can play. This hurt Clemson for 3 years in player development.
As a former WR, it can be easier to catch balls from some QBs over others. Some guys throw like they are trying to drive a nail with the ball at every level. It's a needed throw, but it's not for every situation. The WRs may very well have less drops with a different QB.
We play Bama first game next year. Put Brock or Luke in now so they can get that game time experience. The confidence and experience should be developed this year for next year.
My thoughts are that he doesn’t have confidence in Brock being the guy for the future and he doesn’t want to burn Luke’s redshirt. My gut is telling me, he brings in another transfer portal qb to battle Luke and Trevor during the spring. Perhaps a more mobile qb.
That’s no surprise. I think Norvell feels a sense of responsibility and pride for bringing DJ to Tallahassee. That’s not great for the team but is probably emblematic of who Mike Norvell is. He stuck with Travis through a shaky start as well. What we don’t know is how credible our back ups would be in a game situation and if that would destroy what little confidence DJ may have coming off the Cal game. Regardless, the die has been cast for this season and building for 2025/26 is our best option.
I agree about the wide receiver play isn’t good but I feel that part of it is that we have the wrong guys out there. Hykeem and Poiter needs to be W1 and W2.
Seems like DJ and the offense have decent first drives in games. Why not just put Brock in for a few series in the “middle 8” to mix it up and give him game experience?
Who See's 6 wins with DJU. Watched a young QB beat my Bengals last night, we need to play all the young guys, start DJU, then bring in a young QB, he's done it in the past...🤔 Move the ball score points, we can win with field goals with the d playing FSU football. We holding these kids back...
I feel like Mike is sticking with DJ because I think he feels he can coach him as the season goes on. I remember when Jordan Travis wasn’t playing great and everyone was calling for him to be replaced but Mike didn’t do that either. I think it’s a confidence thing, I think he is showing his QB that he is backing him and I’m hoping that’s showing trust between Coach and QB. I think when you flip flop your QB I think it can damage someone’s confidence when playing. I have seen where when a coach benches the QB1 they start to not play as well and I think it’s because their confidence and trust with their coach is gone at that point. The only thing is it took Jordan a couple of years to get to the point of where he was last year and we don’t have that time with DJ. So I do feel we maybe made a bad decision in picking DJ. However, Coach Norvell may be thinking while we have DJ a “seasoned” QB, we can focus on training up Brock and Luke to take over after this year. I do feel like a QB needs Gameday experience because it’s different in a game than in practice. Brock even said it last year, he said things are so much slower in practice then it is in a game and I don’t think the QB’s are allowed to be hit in practice either and that’s not reality in a game. I think you have to get experience in thinking on your feet while you have a defender coming at you or as the pocket starts to cave around you. I think a QB needs that pressure experience and hearing the crowds to know how to handle those situations.
@@JeffreyJarrell yes that was my point when I said “it took Jordan a couple of years to get to the point of where he was last year and we don’t have that time with DJ”
DJU can not process information. He might look great in practice but it doesn’t translate to games. If Brock isn’t a better game day choice, that is on Mike.
Mike Norvell will not be head coach for much longer. Saving players for next year? There will not be a next year. Who would want to come to Florida State after this joke of a season the whole team will transfer out
If we can't block on the offensive line know with 5th year seniors what the hell makes you think we will next year being even younger!! Change the damn qb at least Brock is mobile!
I still have a hard time WHY Norvell started DJU in the first place, or even got him out of the portal. DJU cannot extend any plays, cannot complete long drives without making a mistake, etc. He will never play a down in the NFL unless he changes positions, but I have no idea what position he could possibly play. DJU must have a great campaign manager to ever get selected for any team.
Brock got reps in a bad situation in December 2023, not something I want to repeat for him. But I do feel that he played better in that game than DJU has played this year.
He’s not making a change because of his pride. He can admit that he spent all that money on a bad quarterback. It brings into question his talent evaluation.
I think FSU should have packages for Glenn, but benching DJU altogether , this early, is a bad call. To possibly lose big is not good. What would that signal to the other upperclassman?
So next years oline with all new starters is elite?? Why aren’t they starting now? We lose all 5 linemen need to start them too or brock gets to learn behind an even worse oline in an even worse situation! All your points are stupid tbh
Your Hot Take is a 100% correct! Putting in the backup QB’s with this pathetic OL, would be detrimental to their development. My fear goes even further, because I don’t see the OL being any better next year. Unless they get Extremely lucky in the portal, which I doubt, because that’s always the hardest position to fill. FSU must get a new offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. They also have to replace Dugan,Shannon, and the TE’s coach. If FSU doesn’t start competing financially to get the best high school players then we might as well start getting used to only winning 4-6 games a year.
How would we be getting blown out with our backup if we’re not scoring many points with the starting qb? We average the 2nd least amount of points in ncaaf!!!!! Bench DJ! He is absolutely the worst qb I’ve seen with my eyes who has started for FSU!
Brock and Luke most likely will leave. Norvell doesn’t care about the future. If he did he would have recruited better and played his recruits. His focus is on the portal. You have to put Brock or Luke behind a OL to experience adversity and overcome it. I could give a shit about there confidence level.
DJ is slow, he is slow getting the pass off, and he telegraph's the play by looking straight at the receiver. This gives DB's a more than enough time to cover the pass. No one is afraid of his running ability. At best he might do well doing a Run Pass Option. The receivers seem to be moving at his pace. Plus the O line are getting blasted because of the lack of a deep threat.
He was that bad when he was starting against Louisville and Georgia..... The kid is much worse than DJ. If anyone thinks that benching DJ for Brock is just gonna magically turn our season around they're delusional. Also, no amount of starts or reps is going to turn Brock Glenn into Jameis Winston. That narrative is dumb as well. We suck, not just because of DJ, but because of a plethora or reasons. Mainly to do with recruiting, terrible coaching, and wrong evaluations.
I’d rather find out if Brock clicks with some of the receivers different people click with different people, let’s find out. Daddy says you don’t know what you look like until you get your picture took. Let’s see either of the other two are definitely better scrambling !! It looks like Norvell will need to return to the portal at the earliest opportunity for either another high priced ringer, or depth for next year’s QB room. The problem isn’t the portal for filling gaps on a roster. The problem is poor portal recruiting and substandard evaluation of transfer talent.
Dju needs to be benched! The kid want even go to the nfl on a practice squad!!!!!! Start the other's. Fsu will lose more kids to the transfer portal because mike keeps dju in. He needs to be looking towards the future and dju isn't it and never has been.
Your scenario is so speculative. Get Brock in at least for some minutes. Play scared you loose. DJ is not good.
