@@MenopauseTaylor Yes, saw that and enjoying every single episode of your presentation adorableness. My reference (BTDT) regards my current phase of my process. I am a couple years older than you, so you know. Wish you, and I, had been here 15 years ago. Love.

You make me laugh. We all have our pleasures! And the great thing about managing your menopause your way is that you can decide how or whether to temper them.
Great video Dr Taylor....there's been so much recent hype about intermittent fasting eating during an 8 hour period and fasting for 16, or the 5:2 diet - do you personally believe there is any merit or health advantages in this, or is it merely a way to reduce calories, hence encourage weightloss?
I have a team too! A huge team! :) I love the South African accent. I had a dog walker who was from South Africa. I lost a lot of weight when I hit menopause. I know thats not the norm. But I looked like I was dying. I had Sarcopenia. I had my Osteoporosis expert prescribe a natural pea protein Sarcopenia shake. Its called Sarco select if anyone is interested. But you should be referred by a doctor and Dr Barbie is a doctor. I have gained the weight back. It took 2 years. I hate to grocery shop but I dont have to my hubby does it and he loves it! He was raised coking in a Chinese restaurant since he was 11 years old so I get home made Organic non GMO Chinese veggies and fish! It works for me! I used to be a personal trainer and taught a diet class for women which. was more of a life style diet not a begin and end diet. For me my diet didn't change much except we had to cut out Gluten. My hubby lost all of his hair over night because of Gluten. It is hidden in everything. Keep up the god work!
You have to ask Dr Barbie about weight loss during menopause its her channel. My weight loss was from sickness. The protein was only a small part of it I had pea protein shakes for 2 years before I gained weight.
can you help? i am looking for answers to a food guide question, the box label said 'do not reheat'. i don't understand this because if i oven bake a nut roast or even a bean burger both say, Do not reheat which makes no common sense because everyone will reheat a nut roast esp unless you eat whole thing in one setting and i never ever finish meals........ Can you clarify? i have tweeted the place where i bought it,
Hi. It would be helpful to either write subtitles or a summary of the key points discussed. I couldn’t follow the conversation at all with the background noises and echoes. Can you do it please?
I include text and summaries where appropriate. This video was unique in that I was interviewing someone. For all the ones that do not involve an interview, you will get all the text you need (and some really nifty charts, too).
menopause wants to kill me my life has dissapeared. I'm totally in shock cause my drs said I wasnt near being at this stage and I kept asking them when will menopause hit and they said I'm to young. but o think it hit me last year cause i dont want to be near my family my body just needs to rest more to accept that im ageing quicker and have to stop all my addictions to detox my skin is peeling more like a snake. I totally don't buy milk on purpose so I don't have to drink coffee and having sugar in each cup. PS I love my vino with my meal I only get a bottle a week
Oh, Victoria. No! It doesn't have to be that way. Please, please watch these videos in order. I can assure you that I'm going to arm you with everything you need to make a real difference in your menopause and the rest of your life. It can actually be the best of your life. I feel so sad to hear your plight.
If your skin is peeling, you might be suffering from atopic eczema. Usually, its caused by a food sensitivity or a sensitivity to something that you are wearing, such as fragrance, makeup, or skin products. I found that avoiding preserved meats (no cold cuts) , avoiding fragrance, and using a non-irritating line of lotion (I like Cetaphil) helped me the most. But, everyone's skin is different. Its more of a ymmv situation. I hope that you are feeling better now and have found your solution.
@@foxywhitetip7387 Dead animal products? Wow that was not helpful at all. Every woman is different and the keto diet helps many with rhe right amount of protein and helps them loose the weight.
I always chuckle at how drinkers are let off. ( You can have the odd one lol ). But I can't enjoy not even one smoke in the evening. More people die & are sick l from alcohol related stuff. I don't drink , I don't do drugs . I like the odd ciggarette. Why can't I have just one ? The pleasure has gone out if one's life. I can't even get drunk ! Lol.
You're a hoot! I just don't understand how anyone invented "smoking." What made someone, hundreds of years ago, decide to light something, stick it in their mouth, and inhale? It just seems like a pretty far-fetched idea to me. But, I'm the boring person who's never fit in with the crowd. I don't drink, smoke, try recreational drugs, etc. And I don't feel as though I've missed out at all. I don't view any of those things as "pleasurable." But, then again, I'm the boring one.
I think it's because it's very rare for someone to just have one cigarette every couple of days whereas it's more common for people to just have one glass of wine.
Consulting a dietician is a great way to get guidance on how to eat for menopause. It's a time when your metabolism slows down, and it can be difficult to maintain your weight in the same way you used to. A dietician can give you great tips and a lot of support.
well I've been made to believe it wasn't menopause but my failure and over eating even though I'd controlled my weight until I had a hysterectomy .....not sure I'll ever be able to lose weight
Well, nothing works for everyone. But it you learn the facts about how your body changes at that time of menopause with regard to metabolism, you'll be a lot more successful than if you don't. Please consider scheduling a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME if you want me to educate you on all the things that you need to know and all the options for losing weight.
I have a question about breakfast... I am really not in the mood to eat in the mornings. I do not feel hungry, and if I force myself to eat I feel nauseous, as if there is a brick in my stomach. Then I am starving at 10h30. If I listen to my body and don't eat breakfast, I am hungry at 10h30, eat a nice breakfast, then I am fine for another 5 hours or so. Although everyone says that breakfast is super important, my body doesn't seem to agree. Should I still force myself to eat breakfast then? Comment on your dietitian...I'm very disappointed that she did not say "braai"
Breakfast is important ... but your body's opinion is more important. Sometimes, there's a happy medium. For instance, maybe it's possible for you to drink a smoothie for breakfast rather than eat solid food.
anyone know how to watch Barbie in order? i assumed You Tube was doing it. i was watching lets say this one or even lets say 10 the next should be 11 but You Tube went to 110!!!
It's the worst thing a menopausal woman can do. Why? Because loss of estrogen at menopause slows your metabolism, causing you to stare more fat. And fasting slows your metabolism, causing you to store even more fat. And your brain uses 25% of your calories intake, and it cannot function during fasting. So, if you want to gain a lot of weight and get Alzheimer's ... fast.
@@MenopauseTaylor I lost a lot of weight 1st time I fasted....OMAD and Keto. Then I relaxed and it all piled back on and more. 2nd time I fasted OMAD/keto and weight loss was extremely slow, too slow for the carb & life restrictions. Now stuck....
@@FirehorseG Well, you see, your body is always going to be smart and preserve itself. That's why I teach you all the facts and make sure you know the consequences in the long term.
Hi Barbie. I loved watching your channel, I had a hysterectemy a year ago I still have both ovaries but I feel like crap everyday. My obgyn prescribed estrodiol without progesterone and the estrodiol is synthetic in that case what can I do? I hate my life cause I'm not the same person anymore.
Even though the estradiol is synthetic, it's still bioidentical. Estradiol is estradiol. I'm assuming that by "synthetic," you means pharmaceutical. If so, you need to compare synthetic pharmaceutical estradiol to compounded estradiol. They differ in that the synthetic pharmaceutical estradiol is tested, guaranteed for precise dosage and quality, and is stronger than the compounded estradiol. If you prefer, you could take compounded estradiol for a while and see which you prefer. There are two standard bioidentical estrogen formulations made by compounding pharmacies: A combination of estradiol and estriol, called "Bi-Est," and a combination of estrone, estradiol, and estriol, called "Tri-Est." Finding what works best for you is sometimes a bit of trial and error. But the goal is for you to be happy with your management now and later. You should watch video 32 on bioidentical estrogens for menopause. It's a huge misconception that synthetic pharmaceutical estrogen are not bioidentical. The vast majority of them are.
Can you please make a pill to make the menopause roller coaster a smooth ride? I’d like to smoke weed to mellow out the horrible experience. I feel like an angry bird now.
Weed has been a lifesaver for me during perimenopause. I tried diet changes (no sugar, alcohol, low carb) exercise and meditation for a year and yes I lost weight and looked great but they did nothing to improve my fatigue, rollercoaster moods, hot flashes, dead libido or anything else.
I’m shedding tons of hair. They stick to my arms and face constantly! I’m living in Superior, Wisconsin that sucks! There’s no mall here. The people gossip like they’re on Jerry Springer.
Elizabeth, This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. You definitely need one. No two women are alike, and addressing your situation requires tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU. I'm in the business of educating you about everything you need to know and do in order to get exactly what you want for managing your menopause your way. So, here's how a consultation works: 1) You would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for you. I do consultations on Skype, FaceTime. Facebook Messenger, What’s App, and the phone. (But very shortly, I’ll have my own video platform embedded in my website.)
2) I would send you an email to confirm that you are scheduled for the stated time, and invite you to send me as much information about yourself as you please. You can make it brimming with details and tell me about your reproductive life, any gynecologic problems you've had, your symptoms of peri-menopause, and your symptoms of post-menopause. You can include all your fears, concerns, and goals for your menopause management. You may also send me any labs, mammogram results, bone density results, etc. that you would like me to include in designing your protocol. If you want to adhere to a certain category of management options (herbs or diet & lifestyle, or whatever), you should tell me that. I will give you a 5-day deadline for sending all materials, and will not accept anything after that date. 3) I'll get busy creating a document that gives you all the education you need to understand absolutely everything, points out the pros and cons of each option, and tailors it all to YOU, using the information you have provided. The document will be loooooong. Most are over 30 pages. 4) I will send you the document by email 72 hours before your consultation. You will benefit greatly by reading it in advance. Light bulbs will go off like crazy, and if you're like most women, you'll feel that you've already gotten your money's worth. 5) During your consultation, we will review the document and address any issues you want in order to fine tune everything and determine your best options. I'll tell you exactly how to find the right kind of professional, how to have the conversation in order to get what you want, and the nuances of things like guidelines and insurance. I leave nothing unaddressed. 6) You will go to a professional of your choosing in order to get the actual hormones or whatever you choose to use. 7) After the first consultation, I'll hold your hand (forever if you want me to). In other words, you'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever you need to. I'll keep records of your situation. Most women schedule mini-consultation whenever they go to the doctor and don't understand what he or she said, or why. I translate. I make sense of everything. Most schedule mini-consultation whenever they have a new test and they want me to explain the results. And all schedule mini-consultation whenever their situation changes and they need to re-weigh and re-balance their options. The time you spend with me will make everything about working with any other professional so easy. And they will love the fact that you have an actual education rather than a bunch of misconceptions that you got from the Internet. If your initial hormone regimen is not right, you'll want to consult with me before going to your doctor. I can prepare you for what to expect and what to request. So, that's my role. And nobody else on earth does this kind of thing but me. So, I hope you schedule a consultation and let me hold your hand (figuratively). I hope to meet you soon!
@@MenopauseTaylor You are definitely one of a kind! I'm going to be scheduling a consultation very soon and your comment right here made me smile and feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
I've noticed that my urine doesn't smell like it should. I can't stand the smell the of it and also my female parts smell bad too!!! I'm on blood thinners, so you can't eat greens that is suppose to help with that problem. I love you eating parsley but can't be of the side affects that will change my blood, so you really really need help, also I use a special soap to wash with to help balance my ph level.
Catherine, Ask your doctor if all these things you've noticed are normal with the medications you're taking. If they are, continue to do what you can to minimize them. There are some medical conditions that can make your urine smell odd, so be sure your doctors have ruled those out.
Hi Barbie, Bell again. Thank you for the response to my last question. Since I am in periomenopause what can be done about the hair loss? I have a lot and am seeing scalp. All my labs come back normal. Thyroid, iron, ferritin is at 61. Any suggestions? My ob says its just part of the process. Maybe I need a new doctor? Much thanks if you could answer. I can let you know specific lab numbers if needed. Barbie, thank you sorry to be a bother, Just need advice.
Bell, Hair loss is usually due to two things: (1) Menopause causes all your hairs to synchronize rather than being in different stages, and (2) Testosterone becomes the dominant hormone. Here's what you can do about it: Reduce how much you manipulate your hair. All the blowdrying, curling, straightening, etc really cause hair to fall out. Take a hair-growth vitamin and mineral preparation. They're available at all vitamin stores. Take some form of estrogen and progesterone therapy. Use steroids (like dexamethasone). Use Romaine over-the-counter hair growth formula. Go to a hair restoration clinic. If you want to read about this, hair loss is Chapter 20 in my book.
Menopause Barbie I think women lie to you is because most doctors want you to do what they tell you to do so we lie to them to get them off our back. I am not quite sure why they would lie to you because if I were paying for a consult I would tell you what I will do and what I would not do because you say it in all of your videos, it is about us. We do what is best for us and we do not worry about fitting into a box. 😁
I always meet you where you are. I do not judge you. The goal is for you to have YOUR menopause YOUR way. In fact, don't even give you "advice" or make "recommendations." I just help you make your own decisions. You never have to withhold anything from me. The only way you'll succeed is if you deal with your reality. So that's how I interact with you.
Hi Dr Barbie, I guess I’m missing something in your videos, you don’t talk about the title on the video much. Like this one about menopause and diet, I was expecting to hear a list if specific foods to eat or not eat. They don’t get right to the point or any point, videos kinda beat around the bush. Instead all I heard was to go to a dietician who can help me!!! Not sure if I’ll continue watching
Suit yourself, Katherine. This video was unique in that it was an interview. I was interviewing a professional so that she could tell you how a dietician can help you. In the videos I present myself, which constitute the vast majority of the videos, I am very specific about all sorts of things. And I cover the materials in units. If you are particularly interested in dietary options for managing your menopause: Videos 25 - 30 are on soy Videos 108 - 119 are on food, including food labelling and how to read a nutrition label Videos 119 - 124 are on vitamins, minerals, and dietary supplements In any case, I'm here to help you. And judging the entire series based on one video would leave you with a completely inaccurate perception of what it has to offer.
I agree @Katherine Pierce. I struggled to follow along, but i think it's a function of my dyslexia and the background noises. I'm easily distracted. I thoutt we'd hear more about specific food to address specific changes due to menopause. I had to listen to it twice, to pull the nuggets of info out of it.
unfortunately the perils of 'processsed' animal fat is true. I eat animal produce from time to time, but I wouldn't touch that packaged crap you showed in the episode prior for all the tea in China! AND it goes for all food groups, every group has over processed toxin ridden crap products (like the sugar ridden mango snack bag you showed). Beer and potato chips are 'vegan' but are they healthy? No. I would like to see us all concentrate more on demanding more from our food chain over all food groups - more access to organic produce, unprocessed foods, less gmo, less/no hormones added, grass fed/finished etc. etc. What food group/s we may choose to put on our plates if we stick to 'whole/clean foods' the better health we will all have. Gosh, imagine the decrease in disease if everyone ate more cleanly? The improvement would rock Earth of its axis ... Pharma stocks would plummet ..... it's Utopia I know, but if you have the ability and access to improve the 'quality' of the food you consume then that's a life changing goal. Diet is so important to your health. You may be susceptible to a disease or a condition BUT how much or how badly you suffer can depend on how 'clean' your diet is. Menopause is no exception. Loving this series Doc!
You will see that I present all the options, not just the ones I prefer. I do not have a product or an angle to push. There is no way I could use everything I show you. Just know that this is YOUR menopause YOUR way, not YOUR menopause MY way.

@@dianeboross6978 Ahh, but no woman who is still living has "been there and done that." You are a menopausal woman until the day you die. Thinking the menopause is just a temporary phase is one of the biggest misconceptions of all.

Love the cultural question. That's a huge issue for a lot of women.
Well, the fact is, we all have to live within our cultural norms. So we have to make it part of the equation.
Thank you for this interview!
This was a great interview! Thanks 🙏
Yay field trip!
Will do!
Its from Moss Nutrition
do you think it was the pea protein that got your weight back up? Have you built up your muscle? What can I do to LOSE weight during menopause?
One of the best ways to lose weight is to eat frequently and never skip a meal, especially breakfast. No kidding.
You have to ask Dr Barbie about weight loss during menopause its her channel. My weight loss was from sickness. The protein was only a small part of it I had pea protein shakes for 2 years before I gained weight.
You’re skin looks amazing Barbie! What’s your skin care routine? Are you Vegan?

can you help? i am looking for answers to a food guide question, the box label said 'do not reheat'. i don't understand this because if i oven bake a nut roast or even a bean burger both say, Do not reheat which makes no common sense because everyone will reheat a nut roast esp unless you eat whole thing in one setting and i never ever finish meals........ Can you clarify? i have tweeted the place where i bought it,

menopause wants to kill me my life has dissapeared.

I feel so sad to hear your plight.
Menopause Barbie thanks barbie for your upbeat personality
I wish I could hug you.
Hi Barbie,
My wonderful Dr...
How do you feel about the Ketogenic diet for Menopause or Peri Menopause Women?
Main benefit of it is cutting out the processed food. You don’t need to load up on dead animal products to do that
@@foxywhitetip7387 Dead animal products? Wow that was not helpful at all. Every woman is different and the keto diet helps many with rhe right amount of protein and helps them loose the weight.
The truth is not helpful ??!?
Sustainability is key.
Right-e-o!
Hi Menopause Barbie, I like your talk. What kind of supplements are good for menopause?
So good thank you 🙏
You are so very welcome, my dear.
So Barbie u recommend that if we r on menopause & we r overweight , we should see a dietitian ? Thank-u for this great field trip .
Consulting a dietician is a great way to get guidance on how to eat for menopause. It's a time when your metabolism slows down, and it can be difficult to maintain your weight in the same way you used to. A dietician can give you great tips and a lot of support.
More great info - thank you both.
It's our pleasure!
Great insight. Thank you.
You're always welcome. This is fun.
Is there a vegan-friendly estradiol?
Brilliant 😊🙏
Thank you, my dear.
well I've been made to believe it wasn't menopause but my failure and over eating even though I'd controlled my weight until I had a hysterectomy .....not sure I'll ever be able to lose weight
The easiest way to watch in order is to go to my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME. They are all lined up in order on the RUclips Video Tutorials page.
Thank you for your videos. What are your thoughts on fasting?
It's the worst thing a menopausal woman can do. Why? Because loss of estrogen at menopause slows your metabolism, causing you to stare more fat. And fasting slows your metabolism, causing you to store even more fat. And your brain uses 25% of your calories intake, and it cannot function during fasting. So, if you want to gain a lot of weight and get Alzheimer's ... fast.
@@MenopauseTaylor
I lost a lot of weight 1st time I fasted....OMAD and Keto. Then I relaxed and it all piled back on and more.
2nd time I fasted OMAD/keto and weight loss was extremely slow, too slow for the carb & life restrictions.

@@FirehorseG Well, you see, your body is always going to be smart and preserve itself. That's why I teach you all the facts and make sure you know the consequences in the long term.
This was really a huge help to me . Thank you!
Yippee! I always love hearing that.
There are two standard bioidentical estrogen formulations made by compounding pharmacies: A combination of estradiol and estriol, called "Bi-Est," and a combination of estrone, estradiol, and estriol, called "Tri-Est."
Finding what works best for you is sometimes a bit of trial and error. But the goal is for you to be happy with your management now and later.
You should watch video 32 on bioidentical estrogens for menopause. It's a huge misconception that synthetic pharmaceutical estrogen are not bioidentical. The vast majority of them are.
Breakfast it is!
Yum yum.
What about the individual who has Lipedema and IS following an eating plan, but cannot lose weight. Why assume that they are lying?
Lying? Who said anything about lying? There is no way I would think you are lying.
Does Kari have a web site?
www.kellylynch.co.za
I’m shedding tons of hair. They stick to my arms and face constantly! I’m living in Superior, Wisconsin that sucks! There’s no mall here. The people gossip like they’re on Jerry Springer.
Elizabeth,
This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. You definitely need one. No two women are alike, and addressing your situation requires tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU.
I'm in the business of educating you about everything you need to know and do in order to get exactly what you want for managing your menopause your way. So, here's how a consultation works:
1) You would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for you.
@@dogadopter4life104 I look forward to meeting you and helping you, my dear.
Catherine,
Ask your doctor if all these things you've noticed are normal with the medications you're taking.
Bell,
Hair loss is usually due to two things: (1) Menopause causes all your hairs to synchronize rather than being in different stages, and (2) Testosterone becomes the dominant hormone.
Here's what you can do about it:
Reduce how much you manipulate your hair.
The text is way off and doesn’t correlate with your verbiage
If you are particularly interested in dietary options for managing your menopause:
Videos 25 - 30 are on soy
Videos 108 - 119 are on food, including food labelling and how to read a nutrition label
Videos 119 - 124 are on vitamins, minerals, and dietary supplements
In any case, I'm here to help you.
😀😀😀
unfortunately the perils of 'processsed' animal fat is true.
